Your Own Ego Map

Place what you observe in yourself, move it, and see how it links

Put an ego you caught today on the board. Add what set it off, what you felt in the body, how it came out, and which centre it moved in. Link them, and beside the board note what you did and what you will do next time. Over the days it becomes a picture of your own psychological machine, and of your work on it.

Kept only on this device. Nobody else can see it, not even us.

Your board is empty. Use the buttons above to add your first piece.

A note on the links. Egos join together in countless ways. They work the same way in everyone, but not to the same degree: in one person a link is a thin thread, in another a heavy chain. The links drawn here are only a starting point: some follow the Master’s teaching, put in our words, and others are offered for you to reflect on. The true gold is the link you discover inside yourself, in the moment, by observing.

a link you made from the teaching, in our words a link to reflect on
How to use the board
  1. Add a piece with the buttons above. An ego can be one of the nineteen from the maps or one you name yourself. Triggers, sensations and expressions are in your own words.
  2. Move a piece by dragging it, with a finger or the mouse.
  3. Link: press “Link two pieces”, tap the first piece, then the second. An arrow joins them. Tap an arrow to remove it.
  4. Tap a piece to change its words, remove it, or open the booklet for that ego.
  5. Solutions: beside the board, note what you did when the ego woke and what you will do next time. Choose an ego in “For” (or tap one on the board) to keep its solutions together. When you manage a “next time”, press “Did it ✓”.
  6. A way to work: a trigger → the ego that woke → the sensation in the body → the expression (what you said or did), and the centre it moved in. Then ask which other egos came in after it.
