“The Human Soul is Tiphereth, will, beauty”
Every word here is his. Nothing has been paraphrased, joined or improved. Each passage was cut out of the book it belongs to by reference, and each carries that book and the paragraph it came from, and, where he was speaking rather than writing, the name of the lecture. Anything on this page can be found again in the source.
This work gathers what Samael Aun Weor taught about the soul, from The Revolution of Beelzebub in 1950 to the commentary on Pistis Sophia and the talks of his last years. He says two things about it that seem at first to pull against each other, and the work keeps them side by side because he does.
The first is that the soul has a place in the Being: “The Human Soul is Tiphereth, will, beauty.” It has a sister, Buddhi, and of the two he says “while the Human Soul works the Spiritual Soul plays.” The second is that people do not have it: “People possess the Essence, the psychic material to fabricate the soul, or better said, to crystallize the soul, but they do not yet possess the soul.” Between the two lies the work, and he names what comes of it: “The Soul is the conjunction of all the forces, powers, virtues, essences, etc., that crystallize within us when the entire animal ego has been dissolved.”
The first part says what the soul is and what it is not. The second is Atman’s two souls, Buddhi and the Human Soul, the Bodhisattva a Master sends into the world, and the wedding of the two souls that he calls by the names Helen, Guinevere and Beatrice. The third is the Essence, the fraction of the Human Soul that each of us carries, bottled in the ego. The fourth is why people have no soul yet, and how it is fabricated, crystallized and incarnated, or lost. The fifth is where it all leads: the soul united with its Intimate.

He places the soul between Spirit and body as their mediator, clothed in the astral body; a spirit is, whereas a soul is possessed.
1. Man is a ternary of body, Soul and SPIRIT.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
Man is a trio of Body, Soul and Spirit. The soul is a mediator between the spirit and the body. A soul is possessed. A spirit is. The Inner-Self is the Most High in us. The InnerSelf is the Spirit. The testament of wisdom says, “Before the false aurora appeared on Earth, those who survived the hurricane and the tempest praised the Inner-Self, and unto them appeared the heralds of the aurora.” Between the earthly man and the Inner-Self is the soul. The soul has an ultra-sensible and material body with which it travels through space. The body of the soul is the astral body. Therefore, the astral body has something human and something divine.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
Man is a triad of body, Soul and Spirit. Between the Spirit and the body there is a mediator. This is the Soul. We, the Gnostics know that the Soul is clothed with a marvelous suit. This is the Astral Body. We already know through our Gnostic studies, that the astral is a double organism endowed with marvelous internal senses.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
The human being is a triad of body, soul and Spirit. A mediator between the Spirit and the body exists. This mediator is the body of the soul, the astral body. One possesses a soul, yet one is a Spirit.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973 also in The Keys of Astral Travel
He was ignoring our Gnostic principle, which states: “One has a soul, and one is a Spirit” The Testament of Learning says: “Before the false dawn came over this earth, those who survived the hurricane and the storm gave praise to the Innermost, and to them appeared the heralds of the dawn.”
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950 also in The Being Is the Being
8. The Soul and the Spirit, are they the same thing? One is a spirit; one has a soul. Thus, they are different.
Beyond Death
3. The Soul is the Conscience, whose fluidic body is called the Astral Body in Occultism. 4. The physical body is the devil in us. 5. Between the INNER-SELF and the body, a mediator exists; that mediator is the Soul, the Astral.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
The soul is enshrouded in a fluid body called the astral body. The astral body is similar to the physical body. Within the astral body is the soul with its mind, with its will, with its conscience, with its feelings. Thus the astral body is marvelous; this is the soul's body.
The Mysteries of Life and Death
The Astral body is the mediator between the soul and the Intimate. Thus, it is only in this astral mediator region where our Monad can be liberated. Here is where all of the Initiations are verified.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978)
The Intimate One has two things: the soul and the body. The soul is in contact with the sympathetic nervous system. The Intimate One is in contact with the cerebrospinal system; that is, with the cerebrospinal column.
The Mysteries of Life and Death

Here the soul is defined by what it contains: laws, forces, virtues and powers that crystallize as the ego dissolves. Other passages call it a precious gem, the shadow of the Glorian, and in its widest sense the one Cosmic Consciousness.
The Soul is laws, forces, divine virtues, powers, etc.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Undoubtedly, it is urgent to understand the need to crystallize in us that which is called “soul”. Jesus the Christ said: “In patience you will possess your souls”. But, first of all, it is advisable to understand what is that which is called “soul”. Certainly, I have to tell you that the soul is a set of laws, principles, virtues, powers, etc. People possess the Essence, the psychic material to fabricate the soul, or better said, to crystallize the soul, but they do not yet possess the soul.
The Fifth Gospel Didactics for Buddhist Annihilation Conference at the end of the Missionary Course – Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico – From June 15 to August 30. 1976
The Soul is the conjunction of all the forces, powers, virtues, essences, etc., that crystallize within us when the entire animal ego has been dissolved. Each time that a psychological defect is dissolved, a virtue, a power, etc., crystallizes within our interior.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Therefore, the Soul is the whole assembly of forces and spiritual powers that must be crystallized within ourselves.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
It is wonderful to see how all those various spiritual elements, virtues and powers slowly crystallize in the Essence, as it liberates itself. There is a reason why we said that the Essence is the material to crystallize the soul. The term “fabricate” does not seem very correct to us. We find it in truth very heavy, grotesque; however, many authors use that term. Allow me the freedom to disagree with it. I prefer to say “crystallize”, since the soul is not something that one must fabricate; it exists, what one has [to do] is to crystallize it, and this is different.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
The soul is valuable. It is a precious gem that goes into the Inheritance of the Light before all, before the Rulers and before the ones of the Right and before the complete region of the Treasury of the Light. The Man Soul, the Man Being, will enter the region of the Inheritance of the Light before the other parts of the Being.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Within each human being lives a law and this law is the Glorian, the source from where the Intimate emanated. The soul is nothing else than the shadow of our real Being, the Glorian.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978)
The soul has three aspects. First: Nephesh, the animal soul. Second: Ruach, the thinking soul. Third: Neshamah, the spiritual soul. The Sephiroth are the substratum of these three aspects of the soul; these aspects are atomic. The Zohar emphasizes the three “principle elements” that compose the world. These elements are: Fire–Shin; Water–Mem; Air– Aleph. Fire, water and air are these three elements manifested.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
The mineral, plant, animal, and human being have soul. That soul is the Cosmic Consciousness. Only one soul exists; this is the Cosmic Consciousness. That is the Anima Mundi of Plato. The Great Consciousness is co-essential with Abstract Absolute Space.
Endocrinology and Criminology, 1957
The intellectual activity of the Universal Mind comes from a centripetal force and, since every action is followed by a reaction, the centripetal force, on finding a resistance in the center, reacts and creates a centrifugal activity called Cosmic Soul. This vibratory Cosmic Soul turns out to be the Mediator between the center and the periphery, between the Universal Spirit of Life and matter, between the Great Reality and its living images. A Great Master said, “The soul is the product of the centrifugal action of the universal activity impelled by the centripetal action of the universal imagination.”
Introduction to Gnosis
Part One · 8 passages
The plural “I” is not the soul, though it takes the name: the soul is divine and the ego is the devil in us. It is the soul, never the ego, that receives initiation.
Man still is not a man, but just an intellectual animal. It is a grave mistake to call the legion of selves soul. Truly, man has within his core psychic material, the material for the soul, but still has no soul. The Gospels say: of what use is it to win the world if you are going to lose your soul?” Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be born again, of water and spirit, in order to enjoy the attributes that correspond to the Truth. This is impossible without the mystical death. In death, we can establish a permanent center of consciousness within our inner essence. That center is what is called soul. Only a man with true soul can have continuity of purpose. Only in a man with soul are there are no internal contradictions. Only when there are no internal contradictions can we find true inner peace.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
In man there are two factors in disagreement, the soul and the devil. The soul is divine; the devil is malevolent. Every good action is of the soul; every bad action is of the devil. When you knock on a door so that it will be opened, the head of the house can ask you many times, “Who is it?” Then you answer, “I.” This “I,” this “myself,” is precisely the devil in us. Clairvoyants see this “I,” like a very horrible fluid entity that lives within the human body. This entity also leaves the body during sleep and travels very far, wherever it is taken by its desires and passions.
Introduction to Gnosis
The soul is not the “I.” The soul is the Being. Distinguish between the Being and the “I.” The Being is the soul; the “I” is Satan within us.
Introduction to Gnosis also in The Being Is the Being
It is urgent to know that the “I” is a bunch of entities that enjoys a certain degree of self-independence. These “I’s” quarrel with each other, and the mind is the battlefield. Each one of them projects itself on the different levels of the mind, trying to satisfy its animal instincts, feeding on our vital principles. The “I” that today swears eternal love to a woman, hates her tomorrow. Contradictions constantly arise within man. This is the reason why man is not yet a man, he is just an intellectual animal. The intellectual animal has no soul, his soul is divided. When the “I” dies, the soul is liberated and that is when a man can have true continuity of purpose, a true permanent center of Consciousness. Only in a man with a soul, inner contradictions do not exist. Only where inner contradictions do not exist, is there true inner peace.
The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students also in Anger
The soul suffers, enjoys itself, works, acquires experience, commits errors, is imperfect. The soul is sinful. The soul lets itself be carried away by passions, and suffers for this. Thus, if the soul wishes to become an angel again, it has no choice but to put a stop to its defects, to become pure again, to purify itself, to cleanse itself to achieve unity with the Intimate One.
The Mysteries of Life and Death
Jesus of Nazareth, the Great Kabir spoke clearly about this. He said: “In patience you shall possess your souls”. People do not possess their soul, the soul possesses them. The soul of each person suffers, carrying an overwhelming burden: the person.
The Fifth Gospel The Exercise of Self-knowledge
Initiation is something very intimate and is of the Soul. The “I” does not receive initiations. Those who say, “I have so many initiations”, “I have such and such degrees”, are liars and fakes, because the “I” does not receive initiations or degrees. There are nine Initiations of Minor Mysteries, and five important Initiations of Major Mysteries. It is the Soul that receives the initiations. This is a very intimate matter; something that one should not go about speaking of, nor should it be told to anyone. All the initiations and degrees that many schools of the physical world confer, really have no value in the superior worlds. The Masters of the White Lodge only recognize as genuine the legitimate initiations of the Soul. That is completely internal.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
The black magicians greatly know that the souls who move away from their Intimates eventually disintegrate themselves into the abyss. This is why a spokesman from the teachings of the brothers of the tenebrous caverns says that the soul is just a vesture and that it must be disintegrated, because they only have interest in their “Real Being” and that they long for the construction of their hiding place in the absolute. This is the dangerous mysticism of black magic.

Atman, the Intimate, unfolds into two souls, Buddhi and Superior Manas, the two fish of Pisces. He states the doctrine in the terms of Theosophy, of the Kabbalah and of his own books.
Atman is the Lord, the Intimus; Buddhi is the Spiritual Soul; Superior Manas is the Human Soul. The Intimus, the Lord, has two souls: the Spiritual Soul (Buddhi) and the Human Soul (Superior Manas, causal principle). These two souls must work under the direction of the Lord, but this is only possible in masters.

The spinal medulla is septuplet. The canalis centralis is located in the middle and along the spinal medulla. Inside the canalis centralis exists another very fine canal and inside that one another one, and inside that one yet another, etc. (This goes on seven times). It is through the seventh canal that the precious feathered (quetzalli) serpent (as soon as it is awakened) rises. It is in the spinal medulla that we have (one inside of the other) the canal of the physical body, the canal of the ethereal body, the canal of the astral body, the canal of the mental body, etc. The physical, ethereal, astral and mental are the four bodies of sin; these also form the temple or the abode of our Innermost. Our Innermost has two souls: the universal or divine soul and the human soul.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973
The esoteric Hindu texts constantly mention the famous Trimurti, Atman Buddhi-Manas. This is the Intimus with its two Souls, the feminine Spir itual Soul and the masculine Human Soul.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
The Intimate and his two Twin Souls, the Spiritual Soul who is feminine, and the Human Soul who is masculine, constitute the second Trimurti, which emanates from the Logoi. The Mental, Astral, and Physical bodies constitute the Third Triple that emerges from the Logoi.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Neshamah –that is, Atman-Buddhi– is the Monad mentioned by Leibniz and his monadic philosophy. Atman is the Intimate; Buddhi is the Spiritual Soul, the Superlative Consciousness of the Being; the two, integrated, constitute the Monad; this is obvious.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Psychology of False Feelings Third Chamber – Mexico City – May 4. 1977 also in The Being Is the Being
The Divine Triad, Atman-Buddhi-Manas, the Being, we have said and we repeat, is not born, neither does he die, nor reincarnate in the nm-of-the-mill intellectual animals. We can and should affirm beyond all doubt, that only a fraction of the Human Soul lives inside the Lunar Bodies; the latter is the Essence, the psychic material to elaborate a Soul, to develop the Human Soul and thereby the Spiritual Soul. The Monad, the Being, creates, fabricates, develops his Two Souls and the latter should serve and obey him. We should distinguish between Monads and Souls. A Monad, in other words, a Spirit is; a Soul is possessed.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in The Being Is the Being
The Two Fish of Pisces linked by a hyphen have a profound Gnostic significance; they represent the two Souls of the Primordial Elohim submerged within the deep waters of Mother-Night. We have already explained, in previous chapters, that the Inner-Self, the Being, Atman, has Two Souls, one feminine and the other masculine. We have already explained that the Spiritual Soul, Buddhi, is feminine. We have already said, and we repeat, that the Human Soul, Superior Manas, is masculine. The sacred couple, the Divine Eternal Matrimony, is always symbolized by two fish linked by a hyphen; the latter is the Being, Atman.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967
Atman, the Being, rends Himself asunder into Buddhi and Manas. Buddhi is our Valkyrie, our Divine Spouse (the Beatrice of Dante), the Spiritual Soul. Manas, the Superior Manas (mistakenly called Causal Ego in Theosophy), is the Human Soul, the Eternal Spouse of Valkyrie. Buddhi and Manas are indeed the Two Twin Souls, the two fish of the Zodiacal Sign of Pisces within the profound waters of Eternal Mother Space.
The Solar Bodies, 1968 also in The Being Is the Being
When life dawned, when the Dawn of Creation began, the First Logos called the Third Logos and said: “Go and fecundate your Wife so that existence may come forth”, and he began to work with the Seven Spirits before the throne and the Army of the Voice. And the Masonic rituals were performed, and chaotic matter was made fecund, the Matripadma was fecundated, and the universe came into existence. Each one of the Seven Cosmocrators gave forth from Himself his Two Souls, the feminine Buddhic Soul and the Causal Masculine Soul, which are symbolised by the Constellation of Pisces. These two Souls, Husband and Wife practised a transcendental Maithuna. She separated the superior waters from the inferior waters so that they were fecundated by the fire, and projected them by means of the Verb. The seeds of the Matripadma proliferated, expanded like a lotus flower and bore fruit, giving birth to a cosmos.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

Parsifal Unveiled, 1970
“The Buddhi is like a fine and transparent vase of alabaster, inside which burns the flame of Prana”... Atman, the Being, has two souls. The first is the Spiritual Soul and it is feminine (Buddhi). The second is the Human Soul and is masculine (superior Manas).
The Three Mountains, 1972

That vessel is our own superlative consciousness, our Buddhi. The Intimate is the Sephiroth Chesed; the Buddhi is the Sephiroth Geburah.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
Atman, the Intimus, our Divine Being the Feminine Spiritual Soul, the Buddhi. This is the superlative consciousness of the Being, is the principle of Justice, the Law. When conscience is spoken of, it is Buddhi, the Elohim, who says: “Fight for me in the name of TE-TRA-GRAM-MA-TON”.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
Geburah, the Buddhi has been considered to be exclusively Martian; this is an error because in the world of the Spiritual Soul which is feminine, there is the Lion of the Law which is Solar. Thus in Geburah we find the rigour of the Law, but we also find the nobility of the Lion, therefore the Intuitional Buddhic world is completely Solar. Geburah is the Law of justice. The world of Geburah is based injustice. The Masters of Karma base themselves in the “Conscience” in order to judge in the Tribunal of Karma. The Masters of Karma are judges of Consciousness justice is beyond good and evil. When you reach the Light, you will know what Love is; and when one knows what Love is, one will know how to Love, and will understand that Conscious Love is Law. There is no value in doing good unless you know how to do it.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

It is written with golden letters in the Book of Life that the flame of Prajna (the Being) is burning within Buddhi, as within a fine and transparent glass of alabaster.
Parsifal Unveiled, 1970
The Buddhi, that is to say the spiritual soul of every human being, is a spark of the soul of the world, the intracosmic soul. Our individual consciousness should keep awakening in ever more elevated planes of Cosmic Consiousness until at last awakening in the Absolute Consiousness; this is in order to make itself independent of the Great Soul and be born in the Absolute as a Paramartha-satya. The Absolute is the Great Reality. It is Life free in its movement.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in Awakening
Buddhi (the Spiritual Soul) is a spark that was engendered by the Soul of the World. It must ripen by means of Sexual Magic in order to awaken the Absolute Consciousness and to be born in the Absolute. After the Divine Triangle there is an abyss, and following this abyss, there is a second triangle made up of Chesed, the fourth Sephiroth, which corresponds to the Intimus, or Atman the Ineffable, speaking in Sanskrit terms. It continues with Geburah, the Rigor of the Law, the fifth Sephiroth, the Buddhi, the Divine Soul which is feminine. Then follows Tiphereth, the sixth Sephiroth, the Human Soul, which is masculine.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
Tiphereth is the Husband of the Wife, the Superior Manas of Oriental Theosophy, which is none other than the Human Soul, the Causal. It is that Soul which suffers, and which forms the very human part in us.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
We must distinguish between that which is the Human Soul and Tiphereth itself. It is very easy to confuse Tiphereth with the Causal. The Causal Body serves as the vehicle of Tiphereth.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
If we analyse the second triangle we find that it is Ethic. Why do we call it “Ethic”? Simply because there ethics, right conduct, predominate. There we know the rigor of the Law; there we come to know good and evil, to know what “good” and “evil” is. This triangle is the world of Pure Spirit, the Hindu Trimurti of Atman, Buddhi and Manas. Obviously the centre of gravity of this triangle is clear to see. It is the Human Soul. That Soul suffers and is the very human part within us — that is — Tiphereth, which coincides with the causal. This triangle is also denominated the Triangle of the Son. We find there that the Cosmic Christ, Chochmah normally manifests through the Human Soul, Tiphereth of the Hebraic Kabalah. The third triangle is very interesting. The Magic triangle is made up of the mind, that is Netzach, the Astral Body or Hod and the Etheric Body, that is to say, Jesod, the basic sexual principle of Universal Life. Why is it called a Magic triangle? Because undoubtedly in the Kingdoms of the Mind, of the Astral, and even of the Kliphos or Infernal worlds is where one exercises High Magic.

Some kabalists expect that the world of Tiphereth, the world of the Human Soul, or correctly said, the world of the Son of Man, is governed by the Sun. It really is not so, because it is governed by Venus; for this reason the Christ is crucified on Good Friday; and this is something upon which we will need to meditate.

If we make a kabalistic addition of the figures of Arcanum 15, the Constellation of the Whale, we will have the following result: 1 + 5 = 6. Six in the Tarot is the Arcanum of the Lover; the man between virtue and passion. Learn to polarise ourselves wisely with Arcanum 6 and we will have overcome the terrible 15 of the Constellation of the Whale. Remember dear reader that in the middle of the chest you have a very special magnetic centre which captures the waves of light and glory which come from your Human Soul; She is Tiphereth, Arcanum 6 of the Tarot. The Human Soul is Tiphereth, the sixth Arcanum of the Tarot. Listen and obey the orders which emanate from your Human Soul. Act in accordance with those intimate impulses. Work in the Forge of the Cyclops when your Soul requires it from you. If you learn to obey you will not perish in the belly of the Whale.

Of the two souls, the masculine one works and the feminine one plays. He was taught this at a table in the Causal World, and he reads the knight and lady of chivalry, and Isis and Abel, as the same pair.
The Being, the Inner-Sell the Monad, has two Souls; the first is the Spiritual Soul, the second is the Human Soul. The former is Dante’s Beatrice, Beautiful Helen, the Shulamite of the wise Solomon, the ineffable adorable wife, the Buddhi of Theosophy. The Latter is the Human Soul, the Causal Principle, the Noble Husband, the Superior Manas of Theosophy. Even when it may seem rare and strange, while the Human Soul works, the Spiritual Soul plays.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in The Being Is the Being
Usually, the Human Soul, which is masculine, works, while the Spiritual Soul, which is feminine, plays. In masters, the Spiritual Soul is laden with fruits that, when ready, must be nurtured by the Human Soul.
The Buddha’s Necklace, 1967
On a certain occasion, at the table of a banquet, my Real Being, the Innermost, took a seat with two other people; the first was my Buddhi, my Valkyrie, the other person was me, myself, the human soul dressed with the Causal Body. My Lord took the floor and said: “I have two Souls; the first is Buddhi, the Spiritual Soul and it is Feminine; the second is the Human Soul and it is Masculine. The Human Soul is the soul who works. Thus, while the Human Soul works the Spiritual Soul plays. This is my Doctrine.” This lesson was taught onto me by my Real Being Samael in the Causal World or World of Conscious Will.
The Solar Bodies, 1968 also in The Being Is the Being
Atman is the Divine Spirit (an emanation of the Logos) who has two Souls, Buddhi and Manas; it is vital to understand this. In the Middle Ages when the medieval knight went out to do battle for his lady, it was no other than the Human Soul fighting to win its Spiritual Soul. I came to understand this when my Real Being took me to the Causal World which is of an intensely electric blue colour. The King, Atman, the Lord was seated at a table with a beautiful lady his Spiritual Soul, his Beatrice, his Valkyrie; and with the Human Soul they sat in a triangle. Atman began to speak, and said, “I have two Souls, the Spiritual Soul and the Human Soul, and whilst the Human Soul works, the Spiritual Soul plays, lives happily. This is my doctrine: thus we three are one.”

Helen, Guinevere and Beatrice are names for Buddhi as bride. Her wedding with the Human Soul requires the death of the “I” and the chemical coitus, and it brings illumination and resurrection.
The source and the basis of High Magic is to be found in the perfect wedding of BuddhiManas, be it in the purely spiritual regions or in the terrestrial world. The authentic Initiatic colleges teach with complete clarity that the beautiful Helen is the Buddhi, the Spiritual Soul of the Sixth Venustic Initia tion; the potential feminine Shakti of the Internal Being. The beautiful Helen of Troy is the same Helen of Goethe’s Faust. Helen clearly signifies the nuptials of Nous (Atman-Buddhi) with Manas (the Human Soul). This union through which Consciousness and Will are identified confers Divine Powers upon both Souls.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

Renato committed the grave error of affirming, in an emphatic manner, that the Helen of Simon Magus was a beautiful woman of flesh and blood found by the Magus in a brothel in Tire, and who, according to his biographers, was the reincarnation of the Greek Helen. Such concept does not resist a deep analysis. The authentic Initiatory Schools teach, with complete clarity, that the Beautiful Helen is the Buddhi, the Spiritual Soul of the Sixth Venusian Initiation, the Shakti Feminine Potential.

The Human Soul clothed in its bodies is the Bodhisattva, which a Master sends ahead into a womb to prepare the way for him. Among these passages is his own account of being called the Bodhisattva of his Being.
The Bodhisatva is the human soul of the master. We have two souls: a divine and a human one. The divine soul is the Spirit-Soul or Buddhic body of the Master, and the Human Soul is the animical, etheric and igneous extract of the causal body of man, together with the animical extract s of the inferior vehicles.
Secret Notes of a Guru, 1952
In synthesis, I could say that all these animical extracts of the human SOUL, expressing themselves through the mental, astral and etheric bodies, is what we call the BODHISATVA of a Master, who lives as a man amongst men when he is incarnated in a physical body. It is said that the Buddha, after going into Nirvana, sent his Bodhisatva to finish his work and his Bodhisatva finished the work in a marvellous manner, under the direction of an internal instructor called SANKARACHARYA. “SANKARA” was a ray of primitive light, he was a flame.
Secret Notes of a Guru, 1952
22. I tell my ARHAT that the BODDHISATWA is the Human Soul with the Extracts of the mind of the four bodies of sin.
Christ Will, 1959
21. I tell my ARHAT that each BUDDHI has his BODDHISATWA.
Christ Will, 1959
The former was the PURUSA of the Orientals, the Monad, the Inner Being: Atman Buddhi. The latter was the Superior Manas of oriental Theosophy: the Causal Body, or better said, the Soul of the Will wrapped with the Mental and Astral Bodies, which constitutes that which is called Bodhisattva.
Logos, Mantram, Theurgy, 1959
But first of all, what is that thing which is called a Bodhisattva? Some of you will know, and others will not. The one who possesses the causal, mental, astral, and physical bodies is a Bodhisattva. That is to say, the human soul vested with such bodies, is a Bodhisattva. There is complete distinction between a Master in himself, which is Atman–Buddhi, that is to say, the Intimate and the Soul Consciousness, and the Bodhisattva, which is the human soul wearing the superior existential bodies of the Being.
For the Few, 1980
Blavatsky says that a Master who possesses the causal, mental, astral and physical bodies is a Bodhisattva; that the Human Soul or Causal Soul dressed in those bodies is a Bodhisattva.
The Fifth Gospel Psychoemotional Metamorphosis of Man Third Chamber – Mexico City – July 27, 1977
She makes a clear distinction between the Master himself who is Atman Buddhi, –in other words, the Intimate and the Soul-Consciousness– and the Bodhisattva who is the Human Soul dressed in the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being.
The Fifth Gospel Psychoemotional Metamorphosis of Man Third Chamber – Mexico City – July 27, 1977
1: Atman, the Being; Divine immortal spark has two souls which in esoterism are called Buddhi and Manas. 2: Buddhi, Fundamental principle, feminine Spiritual Soul, superlative consciousness of the Being. 3: Manas, masculine Human Soul. The Master, in himself, is Atman, the Being, Buddhi and Manas. When a Master comes to the world he needs to take a body; Atman commands Manas, its Human Soul, and it appears, living in the phys ical world. That is what is called a Bodhisattwa, which realises that which it has to carry out. In addition, the Buddhi can be placed within, and it does what it must do.

Third: When the Soul purifies and sanctifies itself, then it is called a Bodhisattva.

The disciple should receive instructions from his own “Inner-Being”, and the Inner Being’s duty is to instruct his Bodhisattva, that is to say, his soul anxious for Light The doctrine of “Shin-Sien” teaches that the human mind is like a mirror, which attracts and reflects each dust atom, and has to be dusted each day, until becoming a “Christ - mind”. Shin-Sien was the sixth patriarch of northern China, who taught the esoteric doctrine of “Boddhidharma”.

Suddenly, everything changed, my divine Real Being, the Inner-Self, that Angel of the Apocalypse of St. John, who has in his hand the key to the abyss, taking me forcefully by the arm, grabbed me from that room as if by magic and, throwing me on a white mortuary sheet that was on the muddy, loathsome floor, beat me with a great chain while saying: “You are my Bodhisattva, my human soul, and I need you to deliver this message to human in the New Age of Aquarius. Are you going to serve me or what?” Then I, feeling remorse at heart, answered: “Yes, Lord I will serve you, I am sorry, forgive me.” In this way, friends, I came to abhor liquors, parties, gluttonies, drinking sprees, etc., etc., etc., all that filth. The only thing that results from it are tears symbolized by the rain in that horrible region; those foul waters of bitterness and the horrifying mud of misery.
Yes, There Is a Hell, a Devil and Karma, 1973 also in The Being Is the Being
The Boddhisattwa is the human soul of a Master. The Master is the internal God. The temple of the Milky Way is marvellous. A great bolder closes the entrance to the profane. Inside this temple, we find thousands of Boddhisattwas from the Milky Way. They look like illiterate peasants. However, the internal God of each one of them governs constellations and worlds. When we cast ourselves to their feet in order to worship them, they say: I am a nobody, I do not know anything, I have no value. “See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets”.
The Aquarian Message, 1960
Often times a man or a woman arrives at the Gnostic Lumisials searching for the divine torch of the truth. The newcomer is seemingly at that time a beginner. However, the brothers are ignorant of that which is the soul; they do not know that this man may be a bodhisattva (the soul of a Master) who wishes to return to his Father who is in secret. The brothers are astonished when something superior happens to the apparent beginner and then they say, “We have been in these studies longer and we have not passed through what he is undergoing.” And they ask themselves, “How is it possible that he who has just now begun seems to be an Initiate?” One must not judge so as to not be judged, because “with that rod with which you measure, so you shall be measured.”

Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
The Inner-Self has two twin souls, the Divine and the Human. The bodhisattva is the human soul. When a Master wants to reincarnate, he sends ahead of him his human soul (bodhisattva) to become reincarnated; this soul enters the maternal womb and is born like any run-of-the-mill child; we then say that this child is the bodhisattva of a Master. These bodhisattvas have to prepare themselves in order to be able to incarnate their Inner-Self in themselves.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956 also in The Intimate Christ, Return and Reincarnation
The Inner Master is a perfect compound, he is an Inner-Self and a Divine Soul already integrally fused. The Inner-Self is masculine and his Divine Soul (the consciousness) is feminine. The result is that from this mixture results a perfect divine hermaphrodite; that perfect hermaphrodite-spirit, is an internal Master; this Master sends his Human Soul to become reincarnated and to prepare himself. When the bodhisattva is already prepared, the Master enters in him; it is then said that the Master has been born. When we say that Jesus was born in a manger, we are esoterically affirming the spiritual birth of Jesus. The manger is only a symbol.

Know that the Bodhisattwa who renounces NIRVANA in order to live to benefit mankind is confirmed and called the “Thrice Honored.” Thus, after having gained and lost Nirvanas and Eternities because of the boundless pity and compassion for the world of deluded mortals, the Bodhisattwa finally has the right to enter into a world of SUPERNIRVANIC Happiness... When a Master wants to reincarnate in order to help the wretched suffering humanity, he emanates, he projects his human soul (Bodhisattwa) and commands his human soul to enter into the vestibule of the world, meaning, into a womb.

A Master never falls, but his Human Soul can, through sex and desire. The case of Andrameleck shows a Master withdrawing his soul and leaving a Kabbalistic cortex behind.
The Master never falls. The one who falls is the Bodhisattva (Human Soul) of the Master.
Endocrinology and Criminology, 1957
No Master falls; the one who falls is the bodhisattva. The bodhisattva is the Will-Soul (Human Soul). The Human Soul is dressed with the four bodies of sin, which are, the Physical, Etheric, Astral and Mental Bodies. The serpent of each of these four bodies of sin is fallen and Jesus had to raise them.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
The fifth serpent is that of the Human Soul. It was also fallen and he had to raise it. He had reincarnated thousands of times on our Earth and he had fallen. The Son of God was full of glory.., but the Son of Man was fallen.., he arose. The Son of God is the Inner Christ of every man that comes to the world.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956 also in The Intimate Christ
The initiatic feast of the Buddha Jesus was grand; the holy female dancers happily danced in the temples. Music and the sacred dances enclose clues of immense occult power. By adoring the woman, by loving her and practicing sexual magic with her, was how the soul Jesus arose in Egypt. He did not need to raise the sixth and seventh serpents because those belong to the Internal Master and He never falls. The one who falls is the human soul, or the Master’s bodhisattva. In this dark age, there are many fallen bodhisattvas; one of them is Andrameleck who has become a horrible demon and who resides in China.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
There are Nirvanis who are loaded with karmic debts; they repay them during their cycles of manifestation. The great danger for the Masters, is the fall of their bodhisattvas. Presently, there are thousands of fallen bodhisattvas in the world; bodhisattvas in whom the Masters cannot become incarnated. The falls are due to the fact that the will-soul is not well developed and they do not grow as long as desire exists in the astral body; we have to kill desire.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
The Spirit of someone could have achieved the degree of Master in some ancient reincarnation. The Bodhisattva (Human Soul of the Master) could have fallen later on, thus, now that Soul can live upon the path of evil.
Endocrinology and Criminology, 1957
A Luciferic man has a body of flesh and blood like any man. The Edenic and Luciferic states are states of consciousness. Eden is the Etheric Plane. When man came out of Eden, his consciousness sunk into certain Luciferic atomic strata or regions. The human soul sunk into its own atomic infernos and lost its powers. That was the exit from Eden. This is how the Edenic man died and the Luciferic man was born.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
Really, he was an Initiate with complete knowledge of the Science of Good and Evil. It will cause great astonishment to our readers to know that the human soul of the Grand Master (the bodhisattva Raphael) has a physical body. The serious thing is to know that the Bodhisattva... is fallen! However, he is struggling terribly to rise... We should distinguish between the Master and his Human Soul. The Master is the Internal God. The Human Soul of the Master is now fallen... Many extremely dangerous demons live in the World of the Cosmic Mind!
Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy, 1959
All magic power is found in the Five-Pointed Star. The whole science of Gnosis is summarised in the Blazing Star. Many Bodhisattwas (Human Souls of Masters) fell like the five-pointed Star, inverted, with the upper extremity pointing downwards and the two lower points facing upwards. One must have full consciousness of what a Bodhisattwa is. The Superior Triad of every immortal spirit, of every man is composed of Atman, Buddhi and Manas.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
It is obvious that the Master in himself is that which the Hindus call Atman, the Divine Spirit fused with his Spiritual Soul (Buddhi). The Human Soul (Superior Manas), vested with his terrestrial personality, is that which in the mysterious east is wisely denominated Bodhisattva. It is easy to comprehend that the man who came to me was the Bodhisattva of the Master. And he came asleep… what pain! He was a fallen Bodhisattva… Nonetheless, the Master achieved to control him and to conduct him as an automaton, like a marionette, to the place of the meeting. It is in no manner something strange that a Bodhisattva (Human Soul of a Master), after falling, becomes lamentably submerged within the dream of the unconsciousness.
My Return to Tibet, 1969 also in The Being Is the Being
After some time, they came to the following conclusion: The Spirit who attended the Chain was really the Master Andrameleck. A Master of the White Lodge! A Master of Greater Mysteries!... It so happened that this Master, sent his Bodhisattva (the human Soul) to reincarnate!

Remember that a Soul is possessed. A Spirit Is. That Bodhisattva reincarnated in China. Unfortunately, that Bodhisattva let himself fall!...
Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy, 1959
Here is the mystery of the human “Double personality”. One of the greater mysteries of Occultism! Bodhisattvas fall... because of SEX! They fornicate! They ejaculate the seminal liquor. And then, the Fiery Serpent of our Magical Powers, the KUNDALINI, descends towards the Atomic Infernos of man. That is how Bodhisattvas fall... The Bodhisattva of the Master Andrameleck fell! The worst thing about it was that the Bodhisattva dedicated himself to Black Magic. The result of all this was that the Master picked up his Will-Soul, Human Soul, Fifth Principle of Man, Causal Body or the Superior Manas of Theosophy. Only the Inferior Quaternary made up of the Physical, Etheric, Astral and Mental vehicles was left living in China. That Inferior Quaternary is, in fact, a soulless man. A Kabbalistic Cortex! An empty abode where the Soul no longer lives, where the Immortal Principle of every man no longer inhabits! Those Kabbalistic Cortexes are abodes of the Psychological I (Satan). Actually... those are the demons! Therefore, that man transformed himself into a demon! When the Investigator invokes Andrameleck in the Astral, either Andrameleck, the demon, or Andrameleck, the Grand Spiritual Master, can appear.
Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy, 1959
“Therefore, Andrameleck... no longer an Inner-Being? When he disembodies, he only ascend to the Causal Plane? He has a body in another reincarnation. “ We had to answer this friend the following “Andrameleck... no longer has a body! It is precisely the Giant who came to the Chain, that is the Inner-Being of Andrameleck! That Inner-Being no longer has any relationship with the tenebrous man who lives in China!... When the man Andrameleck disembodies, the soulless monster, will not be able to rise to the Causal Plane, nor to the Superior Worlds, because he is “Soulless”, he is a Kabbalistic Cortex, an empty house... He does not have a Soul nor a Spirit! Those Kabbalistic Cortexes sink into the Atomic Infernos of Nature, throughout the centuries: Little by little they degenerate and lose strength! Later... they take the form of horrible animals of the Abyss. Later, the form of plants and finally, mineral form which, in the process of disintegration, will be deprived of Intelligence. At last, they become cosmic dust! That is the “SECOND DEATH” of which the Apocalypse talks about. The “fornicators”, after all must pass through the “SECOND DEATH”.
Esoteric Treatise of Theurgy, 1959
The secret master, dressed in his solar bodies, and the pluralized I, dressed in lunar bodies, constitute a double personality, a very serious problem that needs to be resolved. Every hanasmussen has two personalities: one is solar; one is lunar. The newborn master must eliminate the lunar personality if he does not wish to become a hanasmussen. One of the most remarkable hanasmussens is Andrameleck. There is Andrameleck, the white magician, and Andrameleck, the terrible and frightful black magician. Although they are quite distinct and different, they constitute only one individual. It is clear that the tenebrous Andrameleck will have to involve into the submerged mineral kingdom until he becomes dust. Only ni that way will the Essence, the Buddhata, the soul, be liberated so it can return to the white Andrameleck, the secret master.

Part Three · 19 passages
The Essence, or Buddhata, is the one fraction of the Human Soul that the intellectual animal carries, and it is the prime matter of the soul. Clairvoyants are warned not to mistake it for the Causal Body.
The Buddhata, the interior Buddhist principle, the psychic material or the prime matter in order to build that which is called soul, exists within every human being who is not in an extreme state of degeneration.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
The Buddhata, the essence, is the psychic material, the inner Buddhist principle, the spiritual material or prime matter with which we will give shape to the soul. The Buddhata is the best that we have within and awakens with profound inner meditation. The Buddhata is really the only element that the poor intellectual animal possesses to arrive at the experience of that which we call the Truth.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Science of Meditation, Awakening
Max Heindel denominates the triune spirit with the names of Divine Spirit, Spirit of Life and Human Spirit. The theosophists call this triad Atman-Buddhi-Manas. Really, we only possess a fraction of this divine triad: the essence, the materia prima in order to fabricate soul.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Being Is the Being
Certain affirmations saying that Human Beings have Soul and Spirit have been exaggerated. In fact, within the human Essence there exists a fraction of the Causal Being, but this fraction is only the Prime Material that life has given us to make Soul.
The Book of the Dead, 1965 also in The Being Is the Being
The intellectual animal, wrongly called “Man”, has incarnated within him a fraction of the Human Soul. That fraction is called “Essence”; in Japanese Zen it is simply called “the Buddhata”. It is the psychic material with which one can, and must fabricate the Embryo of Gold (see the book: “Mystery of the Golden Blossom”).
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
The intellectual animal wrongly called man only has the Essence incarnated inside himself. In fact, this is the Buddhata, a minimal fraction of the Human Soul, the psychic material with which one can and should fabricate the Golden Embryo. (See "The Mystery of the Golden Blossom'').
The Three Mountains, 1972
From the esoteric point of view, we can affirm that Castor and Pollux are Twin Souls. The Being, the Inner-Self of each of us has two Twin Souls, the Spiritual and the Human Souls. In the run-of-the-mill intellectual animal, the Being, the Inner-Self is not born, nor dies, nor reincarnates, but it does send the Essence to each new Personality. The Essence is a fraction of the Human Soul, the Buddhata. It is urgent to know that the Buddhata, the Essence, is deposited within the Lunar Bodies with which the Ego garbs itself. Speaking in a little clearer manner, we will say that the Essence is unfortunately bottled up in the Lunar Ego. The lost ones descend. The descent to the Infernal Worlds only has as objective the destruction of the Lunar Bodies and the Ego by means of the submerged Involution. It is only by destroying the bottle that the Essence escapes.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Return and Reincarnation, The Being Is the Being
The Wretched Intellectual Animal (mistakenly called a human being) only possesses a fraction of the human soul within his Protoplasmic Lunar Bodies. Unfortunately, that Fraction, Buddhata or Essence is bottled up within the Pluralized “I” Thus, as Atman rends himself asunder into the Buddhi and the Superior Manas; likewise, the Superior Manas rends himself asunder into the Buddhata, into the Essence.
The Solar Bodies, 1968 also in The Being Is the Being
Atman unfolds into the Spiritual Soul, and this unfolds into the Human Soul which is superior Manas. The Human Soul unfolds into the Es sence, Buddhata. These are all principles and that Essence which incar nates in its four vehicles is clothed with them and is trapped in the psy chological “I”, the ego.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in The Being Is the Being
Atman unfolds into Buddhi, and Buddhi into Manas, just as if we were to see ourselves in a mirror, and then the Trinity comes into being. The Essence is an unfoldment of Superior Manas, that Essence being in turn trapped in the “ego.” The awakening of that Essence is the awakening of consciousness; is to become conscious of the Mysteries of Life and Death. Many want to awaken consciousness, but in a given moment, abandon the work. Due to this, the Maithuna was never communicated to anyone before awakening consciousness. The Christmas Message 1968-69 contains the Runes for awakening consciousness.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in Awakening, The Being Is the Being
The Monad in turn has unfolded herself in the Human Soul, that is the Superior Manas of the orientalists. That Human Soul, at first, is completely germinal, but from it, through unfolding, the Essence has emerged, which is the only thing that the intellectual animals have incarnated within. This Essence is bottled up within the diverse psychic aggregates that we carry within ourselves.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Psychology of False Feelings Third Chamber – Mexico City – May 4. 1977 also in The Being Is the Being
“Nephesh” is the Human Soul or Causal Soul, from where, precisely, the Essence that each one has in his interior is derived. This Essence, we have to awaken it; it is the part of the Consciousness that we have within. This Essence, we have to activate it. Unfortunately, it is asleep, it is inside the inhuman psychic aggregates that we carry within us.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Psychology of False Feelings Third Chamber – Mexico City – May 4. 1977 also in Awakening
Well, the Essence is the worthiest, the most decent thing that we have inside us. It originally comes from the Milky Way. There the musical note “LA” resonates, then it goes to the Sun with the note “SOL”, and then it comes to this physical world with the note “MI”. The Essence is beautiful, it is a fraction of one’s human-Christic principle, which is the Human Soul, which normally dwells in the causal world. Therefore, with just reason, there is talk about the Christic-Essence or of the Christic-Consciousness, and it is said that our Consciousness in Christ can be saved, etc. All of that is certain, all of that is true. But what is serious of our Consciousness, of our Essence, is that being so precious, possessing such wonderful gifts, such precious natural powers, it is placed inside all those undesirable, subjective elements that we unfortunately carry in our interior. That is, it is placed – speaking in synthesis– in a dungeon.
The Fifth Gospel The Rescue of Our Inner Light
The fifth and sixth are related, because the fifth is a fraction of the sixth. We have a fraction of the Human Soul incarnated, this is the Essence, or Buddhata. Atman Himself is the ineffable Being, He who is beyond time, beyond eternity without end, He who neither dies nor reincarnates (that which returns is the ego). Atman is absolutely perfect.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in The Being Is the Being
The esoteric Hindustani texts constantly mention the famous Trimurti: Atman-BuddhiManas This is the Innermost with his two souls: Buddhi and Manas. Inside the intellectual humanoid, mistakenly called a human being, only an insignificant fraction from the third aspect of that Trimurti is incarnated. Such a fraction is denominated ‘Essence.’ In Nippon Zen, this fraction is simply named ‘Buddhata.’ Lamentably, this ‘Essence’ abides in dreams within the variegated and grotesque conjunction of submerged, tenebrous entities, which constitute the Ego, the Myself, the Itself. However such an ‘Essence’ is the raw matter in order to build soul; a concept that unfortunately has not yet been very well understood by our Gnostic students. The Chinese Tao clearly teaches that the ‘Essence’, which is bottled up within all of these conjunctions of Devil-I’s that constitute the Ego, has to pass through incessant alchemical transformations in the Ninth Sphere, before converting itself into the ‘Seminal Pearl.’ The marvelous reflex of the sexual energy in a form of a luminous whirlwind (like when a ray of light returns after crashing against a wall) comes to crystallize within ourselves, forming the ‘Golden Flower’, which, as it is known, comes to establish within the neophyte a permanent center of consciousness.
Parsifal Unveiled, 1970 also in The Being Is the Being
Within the mental and desire vehicles, many clairvoyants often see a pretty creature of an electric blue color, a very beautiful creature whom they easily confuse with the Human Soul or Body of Conscious Will (Causal Body). Actually, the intellectual animal does not yet have a Causal Body.
The Buddha’s Necklace, 1967 also in Clairvoyance
The beautiful blue creature seen by clairvoyants inside the lunar vehicles is what Zen Buddhists call Buddhata, the Essence, a fraction of the sacred Human Soul, which is within us.
The Buddha’s Necklace, 1967
The Intellectual Animal does not possess the Causal Body or the Body of Conscious Will, but he has the Essence, the Buddhata, the Soul Embryo, which is easily confused with the Causal Body.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967
It is lamentable that inexpert Clairvoyants confuse the Buddhata (which is deposited within the Lunar Protoplasmic Bodies) with the Authentic and Genuine Causal Body or Solar Body of the Conscious Will. The Buddhata or Essence is only a fraction of the Human Soul within us. Therefore, to confuse the Buddhata or Essence with the Causal Body is an absurdity.

The Essence descends from the Milky Way through the notes LA, SOL and FA and enters the body that the parents have prepared for it. It is a fraction of the Intimate, and it holds religion, wisdom, the Buddha and the particles of pain of the Father.
The Essence that each one of us carries within his interior comes from above, from Heaven, from the stars...
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
Unquestionably, the marvelous Essence emanates from the note “LA” (the Milky Way, the Galaxy we live in).
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
The precious Essence passes through the note “SOL” (the Sun) and then passes through the note “FA” (the Planetary Zone) then enters this world and penetrates within our own interior.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
Our parents created the appropriate body for the reception of this Essence that emanates from the stars...
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
That said, we need to pay close attention to what we are talking about if we really want to awaken Consciousness. First of all, what is this Consciousness that we are willing to awaken? It is the Essence. Well, that is indeed correct. Where does the Essence come from? It comes from the Milky Way. From there it descended with the note “LA”, that resounds throughout the entire creation, throughout the entire galaxy. It passed through the Sun precisely with the note “SOL”, and has entered in us. But, unfortunately –and this is the worst misfortune–, it is engrossed, embedded, bottled up among all those thousands of persons who live within each one of us.
The Fifth Gospel The Two Types of Metaphysical Crystallizations Thud Chamber – Mexico City – 1975
Why have we gathered here in this hall, for what reason? Obviously, we have an interest, that is clear; we long for something, we are not happy with the way we live. Because, undoubtedly, there is something that moves us internally, something intimate; if not, we would not have come here to this place. We must distinguish between the Intimate and the Essence. We can say – in synthesis– that the Essence is a fraction of the Intimate within us. Unfortunately, the Essence is bottled up within the psychic aggregates. Such aggregates personify our errors of a psychological type. Unquestionably, every defect, even if it is invisible to the external senses, is duly personified.
The Fifth Gospel The Organization of Our Inner World Public Lecture – 1975
We would never be able to liberate the Essence without previously disintegrating the psychological “I.” Religion, the Buddha, Wisdom, the particles in pain of our Father who is in heaven, and all the information we need for the Intimate Self-Realization of our Inner Being, are within the Essence.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975 also in The Being Is the Being
Objective reason bases its functionalism on the data that the Essence provides. It is good to know that in the Essence are the particles of pain of our Father who is in secret. If these particles are used wisely, we can awaken the Consciousness through them. In the Essence there is the religion, the wisdom, the Buddha and, in general, all the data that we need to orient ourselves on the path of the Revolution of the Consciousness.

Because the Essence is the Consciousness itself, it is what observes one's inner processes, and its simple thoughts are of a higher order than the personality's. Knowledge becomes conscious only when meditation carries it from the memory through the emotional centre into the Essence, and the two practices give the steps.
So, in the Essence lies the best that we have. The Essence is the Consciousness, it is the most decent, the worthiest part of every human being.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976
As for the Essence, which is what is most honorable, which is what is the most decent that we have inside ourselves –the very Consciousness itself–, unquestionably, it is bottled up inside all those multiple aggregates, processing itself by virtue of its own conditioning.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
So, indeed, the Essence of the human being – which is the worthiest, the most decent thing which we have inside us– is nowadays conditioned by the psychic aggregates, it is bottled up. Is there anything else that is bottled up? The manasic or mental essence and the will. In these conditions, each of us is a multiplicity and not an individuality.

Disciple: Master, in us, who is really the one who helps us to self-observe? Is it the Gnostic “I’s” that we have formed or is it the sense of self-observation as it develops, little by little, in us? Master: Well, the Essence itself is the one that self-observes its processes; that is right.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977 also in Identification
There are two currents of thought inside each one of us: one comes from the personality; the other, from the Essence. We can also say that thoughts that come from a cultured personality, apparently, are brighter, of a substantial content; but, deep down, the thoughts that come from the Essence are of a superior nature. However, a great capacity for observing is needed to distinguish one from the other. As the thoughts of the Essence are simpler and those of the personality are more complicated, we could get confused and believe that the thoughts of the latter, that is, of the personality, are of superior quality than those of the Essence; but such confusion is especially based on ignorance. The thoughts of the Essence, although they do not have much erudition, although they are very simple, they are of superior quality.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976
When someone in life starts to interest himself a little about his situation in his existence, when he realizes that he is nothing but an inhabitant of the Earth –so very small when he thinks about how the Earth is like a piece of the Sun, a detached slice of the Sun or a particle of the Sun– undoubtedly, this indicates to us that his Essence is restless, it has longings, it has something of a superior character. Obviously, these kinds of thoughts, although very simple, are of no interest to the people who live in their tiny little world –that of the microcosmos–, to the people who live within the infinitesimal world of the ordinary senses. One would not feel the longing to know if the Earth is a piece of the Sun and if the Sun belongs to the Milky Way unless the Essence would come with such concern or such longing. It is the Essence that has that quality of thoughts, simple, but ultimately magnificent. Therefore, it is necessary that the brothers understand that, the most important thing that we have within us is the Essence, that is to say, the Consciousness.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976
Ordinary people are trapped by external senses. However, there are people who have already established within themselves a permanent center of gravity. They are those people who were part of these studies in their previous lives. These people will seek the teaching, will long for it, will feel that there is something beyond the world of the senses, and they are not mistaken. Far beyond these senses by means of which we get in touch with the outside world, we find the Essence. There is no doubt that those people who have a permanent center of gravity, indeed long for something distinct, different. Despite all the uncertainties of existence, their Essence remains immutable, it has not been deteriorated or altered.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976
Disciple: What comes first, consciousness or mysticism? Master: Well, mysticism is a very natural function of the Essence, of the Being. An individual can be mystical without yet having awakened Consciousness. Moreover, mysticism is needed, it is a very natural function of the Consciousness. Whoever has mysticism, shows some hope. That is all. Any other?

When the knowledge has become emotional, when it has been deposited in the emotional center, it is finally absorbed in the Essence, that is, in the Consciousness, and the knowledge that becomes part of the Consciousness is never lost; not even with the death of the physical body, because when we return, we bring it with the Consciousness. But that which is exclusively deposited in the memory is lost sooner or later. For this reason, my dear brothers, it is advisable to deposit the knowledge in the Consciousness. I repeat: first, one has to study; then, deposit all the information in the learning center – memory–; then try to capture, to apprehend the intimate sense of that which we have deposited in the memory. When we do this, we feel, within that knowledge, something sentimental or touching or emotional, for us to be clearer, because it then passes onto the emotional part of the intellectual center; so, it leaves the memory and passes to the emotional part of the intellectual center. But if we insist on trying to apprehend or capture the essence of the knowledge, it will become emotions, vivid emotions, it will pass onto the emotional center, and new meditations will make it become conscious. This will happen when finally, the emotional knowledge immerses into the Essence, into the Consciousness. This is the process that the knowledge must undergo so that it becomes conscious.

Master: The truth is something that cannot be defined, because if it is defined, it is disfigured. But we can say that the steps for knowledge to become conscious are described in the following way: first step, one studies so that the knowledge is deposited in the memory. Second step, one meditates with the intention of apprehending the deep meaning of the knowledge deposited in the memory. When that happens, the knowledge – through meditation– passes to the emotional part of the intellectual center, and this has to be explained. The intellectual center has three parts: the superior intellectual part, the emotional part and the motor part. We would say that the knowledge passes to the emotional part of the intellectual center; then we begin to feel a certain flavor of what we have deposited in our memory. In a more advanced stage of meditation, that knowledge definitely leaves the intellectual center to be deposited, strictly, within the emotional center and, subsequently, through the technique of meditation, we finally pass the knowledge from the emotional center to the Essence. This knowledge remains deposited in the Essence, which is, the truth or the truths that we can bring to the Essence. To speak more clearly, they have a rather emotional flavor, but I do not speak of inferior emotions, but emotions of a superior type. The superior emotion allows any truth to pass onto the Essence, where it gets deposited. But the cold analytical intellect of an Aristotle, for example, is completely crippled, it would never allow knowledge to become conscious, it would remain strictly deposited in the memory and that is all. That is why between the Aristotelian systems –which is pure and cold reasoning– and the Platonic or Porphyric systems –of Porphyry–, I prefer Plato. Neoplatonic methods, or the schools of Iamblichus and Porphyry, are emotional and they allow knowledge to be brought to the Consciousness, that is, they allow knowledge to become conscious, something that would never be achieved with the cold Aristotelian reasoning. That is all. Is there any other question?

Sent down from the Milky Way into each new personality, the Essence lies trapped in the ego and divided among its aggregates. The later passages tell how it is unbottled and made to fuse with the Human Soul.
Upon coming into the world, we are given the opportunity to transform ourselves. We carry within ourselves the most decent, the worthiest, which is the Essence, that which is called soul. I repeat, the soul is bottled up within the Ego. That Essence, that soul, originally comes from the Milky Way. There, the note LA resounds splendidly; then that soul passes through to the note SOL upon crossing the solar disk; it continues descending and goes through the note FA, which makes the planets vibrate around the Sun; and, continuing its descent, with the note MI, it enters into a new physical body. When the Essence comes, upon returning to this world, it has been given the opportunity to discover at least the main psychological trait that characterizes it. If we could achieve at least this much, we would not fail in this life. Unfortunately, people do not even know the main psychological trait that characterizes them, and this is lamentable.

It is clear, obvious and manifested that the Clairvoyants from some Pseudo-Esoteric and Pseudo-Occultist systems also become lamentably mistaken about this body. This is due to the fact that they confuse the Essence with the Causal Body. The Essence in itself is just a fraction of the Human Soul that is incarnated within ourselves. This Essence is bottled up within the ego, it is engulfed within the Lunar Bodies.

The fall of degenerated man is the foundation of all ancient nations’ theology. According to Filolao, The Pythagoric, (V century B.C.), the ancient philosophers said that the psychic material, the Essence, was “buried” in the ‘I’ like in a grave, as a punishment for some sin. Plato similarly testifies that such was the doctrine of the Orphics, and he himself professed it.

Also it is possible for one to get, by means of deep inner meditation, the Essence, the psychic material, to un-bottle, even if only momentarily, from within the Ego to experience that which is real, that which is not of time. I have said that when the Essence, the Buddhata, acts in the absence of the “I”, of the Myself, of the Oneself, it completely fuses, even if only momentarily, with the Human Soul in the Causal World, and then it acts, we would say, like in a buddhic way. It can feel in itself, experience in itself an “element” that transforms radically. That is why Zen and Chan meditation are so formidable: because they allow the un-bottling of the Essence.

To rescue the soul, to get it out of darkness is beautiful, but it is not easy; what is normal is for it to remain a prisoner. And one cannot enjoy authentic Enlightenment as long as the Essence, the Consciousness, the soul, is bottled up there, is imprisoned; that is what is serious. It is therefore necessary, inevitably, to destroy, to disintegrate heroically, with a heroism superior to that of Napoleon in his great battles, or superior to that of Morelos in his fight for freedom, etc.; unparalleled heroism to free the poor soul, to get it out of the darkness. It is necessary, first of all –as I told our brothers O. and E. on the last occasion here–, to know the techniques, the procedures that lead to the destruction of those elements where the soul is bottled up, as prisoner, so that Enlightenment may come.

Plainly and bluntly speaking, we shall state that the ninety-seven percent of Essence that we carry within ourselves is bottled up, stuffed, inserted within each one of the “I’s” which in their conjunction constitute the “Myself.”
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975 also in Awakening
Within each psychic aggregate, there is a certain percentage of imprisoned Light. Obviously, we are referring to a certain percentage of Essence, of Consciousness, which is trapped and bottled up. Each time that we attain the disintegration of a psychic aggregate, we liberate the corresponding percentage of Essence, of Consciousness, which is bottled up there. This is how we can increase, little by little, the percentage of real Consciousness within ourselves. Normally, humanity possesses three percent of free Consciousness. If humanity had ten percent of Consciousness, then wars would not exist.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
A determined percentage of Consciousness is liberated when any “I” is disintegrated. Hence, the emancipation or liberation of the Essence or Consciousness without the disintegration of each “I” is impossible.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
Any psychic aggregate, living personification of this or that error, once it has been disintegrated, liberates something: that is called Essence. It is clear that within any of those “bottles”, known as psychic aggregates, there is imprisoned Essence or animic Consciousness, and when this or that error is shattered, the percentage of Essence, stored or bottled there, is liberated. Each time a percentage of the buddhic Essence is released, in fact, and in its own right, the percentage of Consciousness increases. And this way, as we progressively break down the psychic aggregates, the percentage of awakened Consciousness will progressively multiply, and when the totality of the psychic aggregates is reduced to ashes, the Consciousness will also be totally awakened.
The Fifth Gospel The Power of Intuition of the Psychological Man Third Chamber – Mexico City – June 22, 1977 also in Awakening
Inside each one of the varied, argumentative, loud-mouthed Egos which personify our psychological errors, exists substance, spiritual Essence. Just as when the atom is split it liberates energy, so the total disintegration of any of the various infernal Egos liberates Essence, Light...
The Mystery of the Golden Blossom, 1971
Now our beloved readers must reflect and understand how difficult it is to awaken the Consciousness, to become a "Lion's Cub", understand True Zen and experience TAO. It is not so easy to awaken the Consciousness; it is necessary to liberate the Essence, to remove it from within its subconscious (habitation), to destroy such habitats, turning them to dust. This is a gradual process, very slow, painful and difficult. The amount of liberated ESSENCE is proportionate to the percentage of increased Consciousness.
The Mystery of the Golden Blossom, 1971 also in Awakening
Ordinary human beings –or better said, ordinary humanoids– cannot see the supra-sensitive worlds, they do not have the transcendental faculties that allow them to penetrate into the mysteries of life and death. This is simply because their Consciousness is asleep. The Consciousness is the Essence itself, and it is asleep because it is imprisoned within all the “I’s” that constitute our psychological errors. We need to dissolve those “I’s” for the Essence or the Consciousness to free itself. Only on the basis of profound comprehension and with the help of the Divine Mother Kundalini –the Igneous Serpent of our magic powers– can we destroy, annihilate all those “I’s” which constitute our Ego, our Myself. As these “I’s” are annihilated, the Essence gets unbottled, and when the Essence is totally liberated, then we awaken, we can see, hear, touch and feel the great realities of the superior worlds. However, the Essence is not unbottled all at once; the process is methodical, slow. The Essence is unravelling or liberating itself as we are comprehending and eliminating our psychological defects.
The Fifth Gospel Seriousness in the Esoteric Work Third Chamber – Mexico City
That return, that going back to the point of original departure, is not possible without first having died within oneself. The Essence, the Consciousness is unfortunately bottled up amongst all those aggregate psyches that, as a sinister whole constitute the EGO. Only by annihilating such twisted, dark aggregates can the Essence awaken to a state of primeval innocence. When all subconscious elements have been reduced to cosmic dust, the Essence is liberated.
The Mystery of the Golden Blossom, 1971 also in Awakening
Just as life represents a gradual and more and more complex process of externalisation or extroversion, equally, the death of the “I” is a process of gradual internalisation in which the individual consciousness, the Essence, is slowly divested of its useless garb. The same is true of Ishtar in her symbolic descent, until she is left completely naked before the great reality of life, free in its movement.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
So that the Light, the Essence, trapped within the “I”, may really be able to shine, to be resplendent, it must be freed; and this is only possible through the Buddhist Annihilation, by dissolving the ego.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
The difficult thing for the Essence is to become unbottled, to escape from its prison, to come out of the Lunar Bodies, to abandon the Pluralized I. Each person’s Karma is definitive in this matter.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967
In order to achieve full self-exploration, one will have to first begin by segregating the defect that we want to eliminate from ourselves in order for it to be dissolved afterwards. A disintegrated defect liberates a percentage of psychic Essence. As we disintegrate each of our false values, in other words, our defects, the psychic Essence which is bottled up within them will be liberated, and finally, the totally liberated Essence will radically transform us. It will be in that precise instant that the eternal values of the Being will be expressed through us. Unquestionably, this would be marvellous not only for ourselves but also for humanity.
The Revolution of the Dialectic also in The Being Is the Being
The purpose of comprehending is to liberate the Essence that is bottled within the psychic aggregate that is going to be eliminated. If it was eliminated without comprehending, a certain percentage of Consciousness would still be bottled up within the psychic aggregate, and this is not what we want: that this percentage of Consciousness continues being bottled up within what is going to be eliminated, understood? Any other question?
The Fifth Gospel The Exercise of Self-knowledge
Brothers, imagine, for example, that this cup is an “I”. If there is Essence within this “I”, then we would have to free that Essence, take it out from there so that later, when it is empty, the Mother can throw it into the Abyss. Because if she threw it with the Essence inside, then she would also throw our Consciousness into the Abyss, and instead of doing us good, it would do us harm. How can one liberate that Essence, that Consciousness that is trapped inside an “I”? Only through profound inner meditation. Only by becoming conscious of the error. Once we have become conscious of a certain defect, of the defect trapped here, inside this “I” of my example, then the Divine Mother can afford to eliminate it, throw the shell to the precipice –it is an empty shell that is no longer worth anything–. The hardest part is in making ourselves conscious of our own mistakes. Apparently, it is easy, but deep down how difficult, how hard it is!
The Fifth Gospel Beyond the Mind Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1974 also in The Science of Meditation
The comprehension of Anger in any subconscious department means to break a bottle; then, the corresponding fraction of the Essence becomes free.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Anger, The Science of Meditation
It is necessary to know that the Divine Mother only intervenes in this case, when the bottle is shattered, when the Essence enclosed in it has been liberated. If the Divine Mother was to eliminate the bottle with the little genie inside, the poor little genie, in other words, the Fraction of the Soul, would also have to enter the infernal worlds.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967
When all the bottles have been broken, the Essence in its totality has been liberated and the Divine Mother dedicates herself to the elimination of cadavers.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967
The Divine Mother Kundalini usually extracts the Essence from within one or another psychic aggregate. When the Essence is extracted, the psychic aggregate converts itself into a corpse of the Chaos. These cases are an exception, because normally, the Divine Mother Kundalini slowly disintegrates the psychic aggregates before extracting the Essence. The Light of Christ is within Sophia and she is within Him.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983 also in The Science of Meditation
Indubitably, this last portion of the substance of love is bestowed within the Essence. The Essence, the Consciousness, is disgracefully found bottled up within the psychic aggregates, the living interior representations of our defects of a psychological type. The Essence is liberated and love shines by the annihilation of the psychological aggregates.

Part Three · 10 passages
A newborn is beautiful and awake because only the free three percent of the Essence expresses itself through the child, while the aggregates holding the rest wait around the cradle. They enter as the new personality forms, and the beauty of the newborn is lost.
Bear in mind, my dear friends, that when a child is born, the following is processed: we effectively have three percent of awakened Consciousness. That three percent takes charge of the child’s organism and the other ninety-seven percent, which is made up of psychic aggregates, will go around the cradle, trying to get inside the human organism, but will not be able to do so. In order for the psychic aggregates to enter the human organism, a new personality needs to be created. That personality is created during the first seven years of childhood, and it strengthens with time and experiences. The first three or four years of the child are very beautiful: only the Essence, the Consciousness, express through the creature, that is why the child is self-conscious, awake.
The Fifth Gospel Analysis of the Human Psyche Public Lecture – 1977 also in Awakening
We, really, are machines moved by forces that we do not know. When a child is born, the first thing that enters into the creature is the Essence, the animic part: three percent, which is the only thing that is free, because the remaining ninety-seven percent is bottled up among the “I's”. But the free part impregnates the fertilized egg and remains inside the body of the creature. Therefore, in a newborn child there is three percent free Consciousness and that three percent is selfconscious.
The Fifth Gospel Chaotic Consciousness and Intelligent Consciousness Public Lecture –Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico
Nowadays, when one is born, it is obvious that the Essence manages to express itself a little. It is well known that every normal, ordinary person possesses ninety-seven percent of subconsciousness and three percent of free Consciousness or Essence. Upon coming to the world, upon returning, upon re-entering, upon reincorporating, that three percent of the free Essence impregnates the fertilized egg and manifests itself in the body of the newborn. The ninety-seven percent of subconsciousness of the Essence is trapped among the “I’s”, among the psychic aggregates; it has no opportunity to express itself.
The Fifth Gospel The Wonders of Awakened Consciousness Public Lecture – 1975 also in Awakening, Return and Reincarnation
At birth we are beautiful. Why? Because we all have three percent of free Essence at our disposal, as I said in my book entitled Revolutionary Psychology. The remaining ninety-seven percent is bottled up in the multiplicity of the Ego. The existing free element impregnates the fecundated egg and comes into existence, reincorporated again. So the newborn child possesses precisely that: three percent of free Consciousness, not bottled up in any Ego. The percentage of Essence manifested in a child is self-conscious. How would a newborn see adults, his parents, his brothers, his relatives? In the same way that you see a “stoner”, like that and not in any other way. But see how adults feel that they even have authority to educate the child; they believe they can educate him. The child in turn feels bad, a complete martyr, victim of those “stoners” who want to teach him.
The Fifth Gospel Didactics for Buddhist Annihilation Conference at the end of the Missionary Course – Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico – From June 15 to August 30. 1976 also in Awakening, Return and Reincarnation
The Essence or Consciousness is re-embodied within the body of the newly born child. This is what gives the baby its beauty. We do not mean to state that one hundred percent of the Essence or Consciousness is reembodied within the newly born child; it is only the three percent of free consciousness that normally is not bottled up within the “I’s Nevertheless, that free percentage of Essence, re embodied within the organisms of newly born babies gives them full self-cognizance, lucidity; etc.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975 also in Awakening
You see how beautiful a newborn child is. The only thing that is expressed through the child is the Essence –but I speak of a newborn child– Those who think that a newborn child is in a state of unconsciousness, asleep, are profoundly mistaken. A newborn child sees you with pity, he is more awake than you. If you think that he is not aware of your life, you are perfectly wrong. Not only does he realize how you live, but even worse, the horrors that you carry within you; and this is the most lamentable part. I do not want to tell you that one hundred percent of the Essence is expressed in a newborn child, no. Obviously, in the creature that has come, in the one that has returned to existence – that has been reincorporated, I mean, into a new human organism– only a tiny fraction of the Essence is expressed, that minimum free fraction – which can express itself because it is free in the child– unquestionably is also awake and selfconscious. It is a pity that the totality of the Essence cannot express itself. Practically, three percent of the Essence is expressed in a newborn child, the three percent that is free, self-awakened and conscious; therefore, he has many fully active intimate senses.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Awakening, Fear, Return and Reincarnation
As the Ego is multiple, any true Enlightened One who decides to observe a newborn child, will see the following: the child in his cradle, awake; a minimum fraction of his Essence, which is the one thing that expresses itself, and is completely self-conscious, awake. But creatures that try to manifest themselves, different Egos, different “I’s” will also be seen around the cradle, some in beautiful shapes, others in horrifying forms that come and go, enter and exit that room where the child sleeps, they circle his cradle, etc. Those are the “I’s” that await to express themselves. The rest of the Essence are distributed within those “I’s”, that is, the ninety-seven percent of the Essence, they are bottled up inside each one of those “I’s” –inside one “I” a certain amount of Essence [is] bottled up; among another “I”, another quantity, etc.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Awakening
Disciple: Venerable Master, what could we do so that children, as their new personality is being formed, do not allow themselves to be trapped by the “I’s”? Master: Well, the truth is what it is –Verbum est codex–. Obviously, in a newborn child it is the Essence, a minimum fraction, which expresses itself through him; that is why he is beautiful and sublime. Unfortunately, and this is the worst, sooner or later –especially after the newborns’ anterior fontanelle closes–, the “I’s” begin to express themselves, they begin to get inside the little body because they are not dissolved. If we could guide children from childhood, we should truly teach them the path of Gnosis, show them what the Ego is, etc. But this would be a separate chapter, it would be the subject of another talk and it would take too long to speak about the education of children. I only limit myself to saying that as long as the “I’s” exist, they will have to express themselves.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Return and Reincarnation
It is desirable that we disintegrate the “I’s” so that the Essence remains free. Upon coming back, upon returning, upon reincorporating in a new vehicle, we would then come fully awake and we would firmly follow the Path of the Razor’s Edge, we would be different. Unfortunately, upon reincorporation, sooner or later, the “I’s” begin to manifest themselves, and when they actually begin to enter the body, to express themselves through us, obviously, we lose that beauty of the newborn. It is for this reason the Christ said: “Unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Awakening, Return and Reincarnation
How great –I say– if the Essence was not bottled, trapped within all the ”I’s”; how great if the child grew up without any “I” getting inside of him, if only the totality of his Essence existed in him throughout his life. Then all the five cylinders of the machine –intellect, emotion, movement, instinct and sex– would be under the control of the Essence and he would be marching in harmony with the infinite. Unfortunately, ninety-seven percent of the Essence is bottled up among the various elements that constitute the Ego, the “I”. We need to develop the Essence, unbottle it, liberate it. When we achieve this, multiple divine, natural powers will express themselves in us, in all their beauty and all their power. We do not need to strive for powers; what we must strive for is to die within ourselves, here and now, because “only with death does the new come”.

Left to itself the Essence grows only in the first years of life; after that it develops only through work on oneself, by conscious works and voluntary sufferings. He ends with the nourishment children need and the balance to be kept between Essence and personality.
The thing that makes all children beautiful and adorable is their Essence. This constitutes, in itself, their true reality. The normal growth of the Essence takes place during the first five years. In order to keep growing, something very special must happen: this is the work on oneself. The development of the Essence is only possible based on conscious works and voluntary sufferings. We must know that we have within ourselves that which is called Ego, “I”, etc., and that the Essence is bottled up within it, and this is lamentable. Dissolving the “I” is indispensable. This is the true meaning of the work on oneself, for we can never liberate the Essence without previously disintegrating the psychological “I’s”. As the psychic aggregates disintegrate, the Essence is emancipated and grows harmoniously. It is unquestionable that when the psychological “I” dies, the Essence shines. It gives us beauty and true happiness and the powers that it possesses.
The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students
In all creatures, the normal growth of the Essence is certainly scanty, insufficient. The human body grows and develops in accordance with the biological laws of the species; however, such possibilities in themselves are extremely limited for the Essence. Unquestionably, without help, the Essence can only grow to a small degree.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
Speaking frankly and bluntly, we will say that the spontaneous and natural growth of the Essence is only possible during the first three, four and five years of life; in other words, during the first phase of life.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
People think that the growth and development of the Essence always occurs in a continuous way, according to the mechanics of evolution, but Universal Gnosticism teaches clearly that this does not occur in such a manner.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
Indeed, whosoever wants to truly achieve the development of the Essence in himself must become hermetically sealed. This statement refers to something intimate, closely related to silence. The phrase hermetically sealed comes from ancient times when a Doctrine on the internal development of a human being, associated with the name of Hermes was secretly taught. Therefore, if one wants something real to grow within his interior, it is evident that one must avoid the escape of one’s psychic energies.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
We must do the opposite: take the experiences for our own self-realization. They, in themselves, can offer us enough didactic material for the development of the Essence or, in other words, for animic growth.
The Fifth Gospel Pedagogy of Knowing How to Live Third Chamber Mexico City – 1974
Master: The personality must be in balance with the Essence. When the personality is stronger than the Essence, there is imbalance. When the Essence is stronger than the personality, there is imbalance. Many people from the countryside develop a marvelous Essence at the expense of the personality. When they come to the city, they are unbalanced. And if the people of the city develop the personality in an excessive way, when they go to the countryside, when they get in touch with nature, they are in imbalance. We need a perfect equilibrium between the Essence and the personality.
The Fifth Gospel Psychological Foundations of the False Personality Third Chamber – Mexico City
The harmonious development of the personality and the Essence yields brilliant men and women. In the essence we have all that is our own, in the personality, all which is borrowed. In the essence we have our innate qualities, in the personality we have the example set by the adults around us; what we have learned at home, in school and on the street.

As the ego dies, the Essence gives what no striving for powers can give: beauty, intelligence, wisdom kept with innocence, psychic normality, and faculties such as clairvoyance and astral projection. Its first liberated percentages form the Seminal Pearl, which grows into the Golden Embryo.
The liberated Essence confers upon us inner beauty perfect happiness and true love emanate from such a beauty.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
The Essence possesses multiple senses of perfection and extraordinary natural powers. When we die within ourselves, when we dissolve the Psychological “I,” we can then enjoy the precious senses and powers of the Essence.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
Many are those who care about magic powers. I tell you that the awakened Essence possesses beautiful faculties within itself. What we need is to develop the Essence; and one cannot develop it unless he works upon himself. When we are truly concerned with eliminating our psychological defects: anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, laziness, gluttony, etc. from our inner nature, the Essence naturally begins to develop wonderfully. Normally, the Essence is bottled up, as I have said so many times, among those multiple inhuman elements that we carry within us –I am referring to the psychological defects–. As we disintegrate or pulverize such elements, the Essence will unravel, unbottle, emancipate, and when we have achieved the total annihilation of all the undesirable elements that we carry within us, then the Essence will be free in an absolute form, completely awake, with a precious spontaneity in this world of manifestation.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Awakening
As we annihilate the Ego, that is, the “I” of psychology, the Myself, the Essence is released. With the radical death of the “I”, of the Myself, of the Oneself, the Essence will be absolutely free, and a free Essence, manifesting through a human body, through a brain –or three brains, because we do not have only the intellectual brain, but also the emotional brain and the motor brain– it will be a naturally beautiful Essence, and in it will shine with the powers of clairvoyance, clairaudience, telepathy, the faculties of astral projection and many other intimate senses that would take a long time to enumerate.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976
A change would only arise in one by destroying all those people who live inside one. Upon eliminating those people, the only thing that would be left within oneself would be the liberated Essence and it would be full of beautiful attributes, precious faculties, perfection and inner beauty. Then there would be a radical change.
The Fifth Gospel Particularities of Objective Reason Conference – Mexico City – 1975
If you want the “bread of wisdom”, you have to comprehend each of the undesirable elements that you are going to disintegrate, and as you comprehend them, you will acquire wisdom. In conclusion, when one disintegrates the totality of the Ego, when he has liberated the Essence, he remains innocent but with wisdom; and wisdom, sapience, protects him, because it allows him to know not only the good and the bad, but the bad from within the good and the good from within the bad.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976
This current capacity for analysis is due to none other than the dissolution of the Ego. It turns out that when one has Ego, one is very clumsy. But when one disintegrates the Ego, the Essence becomes very free, and the free Essence gives one intelligence.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Consequences of the Immolation of Pain Lecture-Interview – Mexico City – 1976
However, I was telling you in the same conference that we had there, in Chapultepec, that one does not realize that he is abnormal, that he is unbalanced, as long as he has not dissolved the psychic aggregates. When one has achieved the radical disintegration of all the undesirable elements that are carried inside, the Essence remains normal within him, the psyche remains normal within him, and once normality is established within him, he, in fact, perceives the abnormality of his fellow men.

If only you could see how beautiful the Essence is when free of the Ego. One fills with ecstasy when, with his superior faculties, enters a garden and sees the innocent elementals of the flowers, without Ego; the elementals of the trees as children full of beauty, without Ego. They have no Ego, there are no problems between them, they live in a true paradise, these elemental paradises of nature, and they enjoy beautiful faculties, the free faculties of the Essence.

The process of awakening begins with the Seminal Pearl. But that Pearl is not formed, it must be formed, and it forms with the first percentages of Essence that tend to escape or unbottle upon destroying the first “I’s”.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Meaning of the Golden Embryo Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1971 also in Awakening
When the Essence begins to liberate itself, at the beginning, the Seminal Pearl that the Tao speaks to us about is formed. Then, the first flashes of awakened Consciousness begin to emerge. Such flashes, such conscious bursts of light surge in those hours in which the physical body is asleep in bed, that is, while we live in those subtle worlds which the various esotericist writers tell us about. One begins to realize that one is outside the physical body, that one no longer belongs to the physical world, even though one has a physical body. It is obvious that during sleep, all the Egos, the Essence, are outside of the physical body, but people then dream and nothing else; and they dream because they have the Consciousness asleep. When the Consciousness begins to awaken, dreams disappear, and when one is wide awake, one can no longer dream.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Meaning of the Golden Embryo Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1971 also in Awakening, The Keys of Astral Travel
The Chinese Tao clearly teaches that the Essence, immersed within that whole conjunct of “I-Devils” which form the ego, must pass through incessant Alchemical transformations in the Ninth Sphere before becoming transformed into the “Seminal Pearl”.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
In this way the Essence will be progressively liberated in keeping with the rate at which we destroy our Egos. In this way and by this method the "Seminal Pearl" will develop by the increase in various percentages of Essence until it transforms into the "Golden Embryo."

Part Three · 12 passages
When the mind is still and the battle of the opposites ends, the Essence leaves its bottle and experiences the Truth in the Illuminating Void. Such ecstasy is not liberation: without the death of the ego the Essence goes back into it, as it did for the anchorites of Tibet.
It becomes obvious to answer this question by saying that the consciousness, the Buddhist interior principle, that part of the soul which we have in us, is what can and must be liberated. The sole purpose of the mind is for the bitterness of our existence. Authentic, legitimate, real happiness is only possible when we emancipate ourselves from the intellect. However, we must recognize that an inconvenience exists, as well as a capital obstacle and impediment in order to acquire that longed for liberation of the Essence. I am referring to the tremendous struggle of antithesis. The Essence, the consciousness, even when of a Buddhic nature, disgracefully lives bottled up within the exaggerated intellectual dualism of the opposites ‘yes and no’, ‘good and evil’, ‘high and low’, ‘mine and yours’, ‘like and dislike’, ‘pleasure and pain’, etc. By all means, it becomes luminous to deeply comprehend that when this tempest in the ocean of the mind ceases and the struggle between the opposites finishes, the Essence escapes and submerges itself within that which is the Reality.
Runic Magic, 1969 also in The Science of Meditation
The eruption of the Void, the Experience in the illuminating Void, are only possible when the Essence, the Soul, the Buddhata frees itself from the intellectual bottle. The Essence is engrossed within the tremendous battle of the opposites: heat and cold, like and dislike, yes and no, good and evil, pleasant and unpleasant. When the Mind is still, when the Mind is in silence, then the Essence remains free and the Experience of what is Real in the illuminating Void comes.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in The Science of Meditation
The Essence or Conscience, unfortunately lives bottled up within the exaggerated intellective dualism of the opposites: yes and no, good and evil, tall and short, mine and yours, pleasure and displeasure, pleasure and pain, etc. It is clearly brilliant to comprehend in depth that when the tempest of borrowed ideas in the ocean of the mind ceases and the struggle of the opposites ends, the Essence escapes, submerges itself in That which is Real and emanates the auto-idea, the seed-idea with all its splendor.
The Revolution of the Dialectic
During ecstasy and in the absence of the ‘I’, the Essence can live freely in the World of the Mist of Fire, experiencing the Truth. When the mind is in a passive and receptive state, absolutely still and in silence, the Essence or Buddhata is liberated from the mind, and ecstasy arrives. The Essence is always bottled up in the battle of the opposites, but when the battling ends and the silence is absolute, then the Essence remains free and the bottle is broken into pieces.
Dissolving the I also in The Being Is the Being
The stillness and silence of the mind has a single objective: liberate the Essence from the mind so that fused with the Monad or Inner self, it (the Essence) can experience that which we call the Truth. During ecstasy and in the absence of the ‘I’, the Essence can live freely in the World of the Mist of Fire, experiencing the Truth.
The Revolution of the Dialectic also in The Being Is the Being
Those who do not have the superior existential bodies of the Being cannot succeed in getting the Divinity or the Being to operate or incarnate in them, but they are able to liberate the Essence so that it will fuse with the Being and participate of his ecstasy. In the state of ecstasy, we can study the great mysteries of life and death. We have to study the ritual of life and death until the Officiant (the Inner-Self, the Being) arrives. It is only in the absence of the “I” that one can experience the bliss of the Being. Only in the absence of the “I’ can ecstasy come.
The Revolution of the Dialectic also in The Being Is the Being
21. It is precisely in Shunyata when one directly experiences that which is the Truth. 22. In Shunyata the Essence moves freely in the bosom of the Illuminating Void. 23. The drop merges into the ocean of that which no one understands.
The Science of Meditation
1. The Essence merged into the Illuminating Void experiences that which no one experiences.
The Science of Meditation
4. In the Illuminating Void the Essence perceives and transmits. 5. That which the Essence perceives reaches the human personality. In those moments the motor and emotional centers are united with the “intellectual” center. 6. The mystical experiences of the Essence during Ecstasy, upon being received by the Intellectual Center, also inform the motor and emotional centers. 7. This is caused by the integration of the three centers during Profound Ecstasy. 8. Thanks to all of these psychic processes, when the ecstasy comes to an end, and the Essence returns to the interior of the body, the memories of that which we experienced in the absence of the “myself” are not lost. 9. In reality, that which the Essence experiences in the absence of the “myself” is the happiness of that which is not, and, nevertheless, is.
The Science of Meditation
Unquestionably, the Essence, through rigorous disciplines, can escape from within the “I”; thus, it enjoys ecstasy. However, after such bliss, the Essence returns into the interior of the “myself.” Those who have become accustomed to ecstasy without having dissolved the ego believe that they have already reached liberation. They fool themselves by believing themselves to be Masters. They even enter into the submerged devolution. Nonetheless, we are not pronouncing ourselves against mystical ecstasy, against the ecstasy and happiness of the Soul while in the absence of the ego. We only want to place emphasis on the necessity of dissolving “I’s” in order to achieve the final liberation. The Essence of any disciplined hermit, accustomed to escaping from within the “I” repeats such a feat after the death of his physical body. Then, his Essence enjoys the ecstasy for some time. Yet, after such time, his Essence returns as the Genie of Aladdin’s lamp, back into the interior of the lamp, the ego, the myself.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975
What really happened was that, trained in the most diverse disciplines of the mind, such cenobites were able to un-bottle the Essence, the Consciousness, and the latter, in the absence of the Ego, could experience that which is not of time, that which is beyond the body, the affections and the mind. Inebriated, then, with the soma of the Samadhi, they believed themselves to be Mahatmas, they never worked on the Ego, they never worried about disintegrating the various psychic aggregates, they only specialized in the yoga of meditation. Once disincarnated, and since undoubtedly they had become athletes of the science of Dhyana or meditation, the Essence, momentarily, could even penetrate the planets of the Christ, float in the environment of such planets –which are of a spiritual nature–, unfortunately without being able to enter the guilds of such worlds. After the ecstasy passed, the Essence returned once again to the Ego, inside the Myself. Subsequently, they returned, they came back, they reincorporated, and now they are, in the Western world, vulgar, ordinary people, while in the East, in Tibet, they are still venerated as saints.
The Fifth Gospel Work Taste and Life Taste Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1976 also in The Science of Meditation
Some of them, on the basis of so much concentration and so many fasts and mortifications, achieved the different states of the Samadhi. One is the simple Samadhi, the other is the Nirvikalpa Samadhi; and there were cases of persons who achieved the MahaSamadhi –they wanted happiness–. During the samadhic state, the Essence unbottles, escapes from within the Ego and moves in the Great Alaya of the Universe. But, once the Samadhi passes, the Essence returns to the Ego. Unfortunately, those anchorites never devoted themselves to dissolving the psychic aggregates which in themselves constitute the Ego. They were only concerned with their mantras, bandas, mudras, etc., believing that in this way they would achieve Final Liberation. Those who achieved the Maha-Samadhi, disincarnated. Then those Essences, having unbottled, were able to live on the Planets of the Christ –worlds where there is an eternal nature which is not subjected to change or death, like the nature of our world Earth–. They were able to enjoy that cosmic bliss, but they were not able to establish themselves as dwellers of such worlds of the Christ because of the very fact that they had not dissolved the Ego. After the Ecstasy passes, that Essence returns to the Ego; then one enters a new womb. So, nowadays, many of those who were considered to be saints and liberated persons in Tibet, are at present vulgar, ordinary people.

He also calls the Essence the embryo of soul, which escapes the human specter at death and returns to its Being. Love, as distinct from desire, is what strengthens it.
The Embryo of the Soul Man has only an embryo of Soul. One can develop and strengthen this embryo with Sexual Magic. It sometimes happens that this embryo believes itself to be the whole and forgets about its origin. When this happens we utterly fail.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
The Embryonic Soul (which every human being carries inside) is dressed with these Protoplasmic Bodies.
The Solar Bodies, 1968
What escapes is the embryo of the Soul, the prime material that returns to the world of the Spirit.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
The Human Specter The man of the present day is a “soulless creature”. When death comes, only the human specter continues on. The embryo of the Soul escapes from this human specter. The after-death states mentioned by all occultists correspond to the embryo of the Soul. This embryo returns to its true Being, which normally lives in the causal world. A thorough analysis leads us to the conclusion that the human specter is a lair of impure demons. In a word, the human being becomes a legion of demons that continues after death. Truly, the human person dies. Man is not yet immortal. Man believes he is powerful and immortal; this is the height of arrogance. He is fulminated by the Ray of Death, and to the abyss he tumbles from the Tower of Babel. That is fatality.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
The Embryo of Soul The embryo of Soul lives inside the human ghost and it reincarnates with this ghost and with the “I”. It is necessary to comprehend that within every human ghost there is an “I” and an embryo of Soul. We have already talked about this in preceding lessons, but it seems like many students have not understood it. We clarify that the embryo of Soul that every human carries within, is not the Christ, because human beings do not yet have the Christ incarnated. Only he who receives the Venustic Initiation incarnates the Christ. Nobody can receive this Initiation without having first incarnated one’s Buddha of perfection.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah also in Return and Reincarnation, The Intimate Christ
The Great Master Paracelsus, said, “The Soul is the product of the centrifugal action of universal activity, impelled by the centripetal action of the imagination of the universe.” At the moment, the human being has only the embryo of a Soul within his astral ghost, but this embryo should be strengthened and self-awakened. The awakening of cosmic consciousness in man is the most grandiose event in the universe.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Imagination, Inspiration, Intuition
The human being of today has only incarnated an embryo of the Soul. At times this emits some sparks of Love. The mother who adores her child is a very good example of that which is called Love. The embryo of the Soul can be strengthened with the blessed flame of Love. Sometimes man and woman feel the radiations of Love which flow from the embryo of the Soul, but they are immediately suffocated by the violent and terrible passions which Satan gives to man and also to woman.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Love — The Two Halves
If we cultivate those divine vibrations of Love, we can then fortify and strengthen the embryo of the Soul, so that later we may live intensely that which we call Love. Love strengthens the embryo of the Soul. When the embryo grows stronger, then we achieve the incarnation of the Soul.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Love — The Two Halves
If you want to love, be prudent; do not confuse love with desire. Do not allow yourself to be deceived by the “great deceiver”. Inside, you have an embryo of Soul which can love. Your love is truly in an embryonic state, for it is an embryo; but if you annihilate desire you will feel that spark. When you learn how to feel that spark it will become a flame, and then you will experience that which is called love. Strengthen thy embryo of Soul with the blessed flame of love. Thus, at last you will attain the miracle of your incarnation. You must be very honest and whole, and this is only possible with love.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah also in Desire and Will
Only love and wisdom should reign in the homes of the Gnostic brothers and sisters. Really, humanity confuses Love with desire, and desire with Love. Only great Souls know how, and are able to love. In Eden men of perfection love ineffable women. To Love one must Be. Those who incarnate their Soul know how to truly love. The “I” does not know how to love. The demon “I” which today swears love, is replaced by another demon “I” that does not want to love. We already know that the “I” is plural. The pluralized “I” is really a Legion. That whole succession of the “I” lives in conflict. It is said that we have one mind. We, the Gnostics affirm that we have many minds. Each phantom of the pluralized “I” has its mind. The “I” which kisses and adores the beloved woman is displaced by another “I” who hates her. To Love one must Be. Man still is not. Whoever has not incarnated the Soul is not. Man still does not have real existence. From the mouth of man speaks a Legion of demons; demons who swear love, demons who abandon the beloved, demons who hate, demons of jealousy, of anger, of malice etc., etc. Nonetheless, the intellectual animal mistakenly called man in spite of all this, has incarnated the Essence, a fraction of his Human Soul, the Buddha the Buddha knows how to love. The “I” does not know how to love. We should forgive the defects of the beloved, because these are the defects of the “I”. Love is not to blame for the quarrels. The guilty one is the “I”. In the home of the Gnostic Initiate there should be a source of happiness, music and ineffable kisses. Dance, love and the joy of loving, strengthen the Embryo of the Soul that children have within. In this way Gnostic homes are a real paradise of love and wisdom.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Love — The Two Halves, Desire and Will, Anger, Jealousy, The Mind
The human being does not yet know that which is called Love. Actually only the Soul knows, and is able to Love. Man has still not incarnated his Soul. Man still does not know what it is to Love. Satan does not know what Love is. The only thing that the human being has incarnated at present is Satan (the “I”). The human being does not know how to Love.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
In Arcanum XIX a great covenant is established between two souls. Man and woman must kill desire to achieve this Great Covenant. If you want to incarnate your Soul, you must keep and observe the Great Covenant of Arcanum XIX.

Between lives the Essence may escape for a time into the higher regions before the lunar ego draws it back to a new womb. For those who descend into the infernal worlds, the Second Death frees it to begin again from the mineral kingdom.
It means that the Essence, the animic material, the directing factor of all the psychological processes that we carry inside us, is bottled up within the Ego, within the “I”, the Myself, the Oneself, and when the time for normal, ordinary sleep comes, the Ego, the psychological “I” –within which the Essence is bottled up–, abandons the physical body so that the vital vehicle can repair the dense body; because if the vital vehicle does not repair the dense body, the dense body dies.
The Fifth Gospel Pedagogy of Knowing How to Live Third Chamber Mexico City – 1974 also in The Keys of Astral Travel
The fate of the human Essence in the Electronic World after death is fleeting, because the human being is still not prepared for living continuously in this solar region.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
However, once the retrospective experiences of the previous existence conclude, the Essence, in the absence of the I, ascends from sphere to sphere until merging in the solar joy.
The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac, 1974
Intermediate liberation, happiness in the kingdoms of the molecular and electronic regions, has a limit. When the reward is exhausted, the Essence returns to the lunar bodies where the ego dwells. Afterwards comes the return, the re-incorporation, the entrance into a new womb.
The Buddha’s Necklace, 1967 also in Return and Reincarnation
When that will happen, three paths are presented before the Essence. First: that the Essence lives a vacation, unbottling itself from the Ego, and enters the superior spheres of the universe and the cosmos. Some vacations and it comes back to the Ego for a new recurrence or return. The second: to go down to the Infernal Worlds. Our brother M. does not need to go down anymore, because he is on the path to selfrealization. Third: to return shortly or immediately. Who will stay after a period of time [in the superior dimensions]? The one to whom a break is well deserved.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Develop the Inner Mind Interview – Mexico City – 1975 also in Return and Reincarnation
The Essence loses the ecstasy, attracted by the Lunar Ego and, already bottled up once again inside the Lunar Bodies, returns to a new womb.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Return and Reincarnation
The instant in which the Essence loses the ecstasy is that in which it once again separates from its Inner-Buddha to remain bottled up in the Lunar Bodies and the Pluralized “I”. The Return to a new womb is carried out in accordance with the Law of Karma.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Return and Reincarnation
Blessed is the man whom God punishes! Obviously, the Creator wants to heal us and the medicine is called “karma”. When there is no more remedy for us, when not even the medicine is useful, when we have become so cynical that even that cannot really cure us, obviously, we must enter into the submerged involution of the Infernal Worlds. There we wind up with the Second Death –as it is written in the Gospels–; it is clear, it is the annihilation of the Egos. The Essence is something else; it escapes from the “precipice” to restart a new evolutionary journey.
The Fifth Gospel Beyond the Mind Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1974
The Essence that exists within, can never die, it is eternal. But the plurality of the “I” will have to involute within the entrails of the world. Nature will have to disintegrate the Ego; Nature will have to do for us what we have not been capable to do for ourselves. Nature will have to free the Essence so that it comes out into the sunlight, so that it can evolve again from stone to man. And when one reconquers the human state that was once lost, he is assigned another new cycle of existences.
The Fifth Gospel The Organization of Our Inner World Public Lecture – 1975 also in Return and Reincarnation
The Essence is free only with the Second Death, which is, the death of the ego within the womb of the Earth. The Essence that has passed through the Second Death evolves again, beginning with the Mineral Kingdom. The evolving Essences pass through the Mineral, Plant, and Animal Kingdoms, before reconquering the human state, which they had lost.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Following the Second Death, the Essence emerges again to the surface. When the Essence has emerged again, then new evolving processes begin which repeat themselves from the lowest step. The lowest step is the mineral kingdom. Each time the cycle is repeated through the mineral kingdom, it is performed in a higher spiral, in accordance with the spiral of life.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
There the centrifugal forces will disintegrate the different inhuman elements until there are none left. This is the Second Death. Once this is achieved, the Essence resurfaces, comes out free again into the sunlight to initiate the new evolutionary processes. It is an extra help given to the lost ones. It is not very pleasant, is it? Descending to the infernal worlds is not very advisable.
The Fifth Gospel Practical Solutions Against Collective Hypnotism Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1976
However, both snakes work for our good. Kali, the frightful one, the monstrous one, the one of the rings that crushes, ends up devouring us in the Infernal Worlds in order to crush and kill us. Then the Essence becomes free, resurfaces, comes out into the light of the sun to restart new evolutionary processes that will go from the stone to the man –or to the intellectual animal, since the human state is beyond the evolutionary processes–.
The Fifth Gospel The Binary Serpentine Power
For the Sufi, the descent into the entrails of the Earth is not exactly a punishment, but rather a place of instruction and purification. For the primitive Mexicans, Toltecs, etc., the descent to the Infernal Worlds is a time of trial: necessary and indispensable trials to be able to enter the Elemental Paradises; and they are also right, so they say. It is so true that when one has already passed through the Second Death in the ninth Dantean circle, one is examined by the Devas of nature, and if they discover that the Essence no longer possesses any inhuman element, they allow it to exit. Such an Essence, through certain atomic doors of nature itself, escapes from the entrails of the world to re-emerge and penetrate into those Elemental Paradises, beyond good and evil. Ultimately, Divinity always triumphs, evil always fails.
The Fifth Gospel The Binary Serpentine Power also in Elemental Magic
Only with the Second Death can the Essence liberate itself, emancipate itself, come out from within the Ego. Only with the Second Death can the Essence ascend once more, in an innocent state, to the surface of our planet. Obviously, free Essences will be able to form the multitudes of the Golden Age.
The Fifth Gospel Transcendental Exhortation Addressed to the Missionaries
Since the Essence is bottled up in the Ego, its dissolution becomes indispensable so that the Essence is liberated. The original pristine purity of the Essence is restored at the centre of planetary stability. The wheel of Samsara turns three thousand times. If we really yearn for the final liberation, it really is imperative and urgent to understand this, to capture its deep significance.

The Son, the Divine Spirit, sent the Essence down, and it must go back through the Being and the Father until it is absorbed in the Logos. The last two passages describe an Essence that ends its three thousand cycles without mastery.
At the dawn of each Mahamanvantara, the Son, the Child Horus, the Divine Spirit of each one of us, must send the best part of himself, which is his Essence, unto this valley of tears with the purpose of Self-Realising.
My Return to Tibet, 1969
In Egyptian Theogony the Father (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is Osiris or Ra; and Ra is the Logos with its three aspects. When the Monad is spoken of, it is Osiris who is being referred to; it is He who has to SelfRealise, and in turn unfold into Father, Mother and Son. The Son unfolds into the Essence, which is that which swallows us, leaving the SelfRealised Monad. ESSENCE ----> SON -----> MOTHER ------> FATHER The Monad of each one of us has need of us, and we need the Monad.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in The Being Is the Being
When a Monad really yearns for mastery, it is indubitable that it obtains it by working intensively on its Essence. It is very easy to recognise in the world of the dense shapes every Essence that is being intimately worked inwards by its divine Monad. This is the concrete case of any person with great spiritual restlessness. Obviously, such a specific type of mystical longing could never exist in people whose Essence had not been worked inwards by its corresponding divine Monad.
The Three Mountains, 1972 also in The Being Is the Being
This wonderful parable of the Christic Gospel is formidable. The Essence must return “home”. The Essence, the Consciousness that we have within, must return to the house of our Father who is in secret. Each one of us must initiate the return to the Father’s house. But for that return to begin, the center of gravity that we have, the magnetic center that we currently carry in the human person, must be transferred to the Consciousness, to the Essence. Only then, can the Essence initiate the return from the personality to the Father. Only then, can the Essence start the journey –a very long one, indeed– that goes from the personality up to the stars. But for the Essence to be able to travel, it must slowly disintegrate all those psychic aggregates in which the Consciousness is bottled up. When all the aggregates are disintegrated, when the Consciousness is liberated from everything, it will awaken. And once awakened –as a truly celestial Man–, it will initiate its return from the personality to the house of the Father, the world of the Spirit.

In these moments, a phrase from the sacred Egyptian Book of the Dead comes to my memory. It says: “I am the sacred crocodile Sebek, I am the flame of three wicks and my wicks are immortal. I enter into the region of Sekhem, I enter into the region of the flames that have defeated their adversaries.” This “sacred crocodile Sebek” is, precisely, the Essence. “I enter into the region of the flames”, which is Nirvana, the “region of Sekhem”. Those who live in that region “have defeated their adversaries”, that is, those “I’s” that we carry within ourselves; we have to defeat them, overpower them, destroy them. That is why it is said in the ritual that “one must kill all the unfaithful. May they be accursed, condemned and dead”. It refers to them, to the “I’s” that we carry within ourselves. Those are the “unfaithful”, we have to fight against them, we have to “spill one’s own blood”.
The Fifth Gospel The Return of the Prodigal Son Lecture in continuation of “Clarifications of the Pranayama and the Tibetan rites” – December 1974
If one studies the “Egyptian Book of the Dead”, one sees that it is Isis who is called to put the ego to death. Without the Divine Mother the death of the ego is impossible. The Essence is freed with the death of the ego and becomes lost in Osiris, the Divine Christ. The Essence resuscitates in the heart of Osiris. Where will our feelings, our attachment to things, and our desires be? All that will no longer exist.

Having made a transcendental synthesis of much long and hard work, we would say: First the Essence has to be liberated so that the light may shine inside us; then it has to be fused with ATMAN (the Being), to liberate ourselves from the mind; afterwards it has to be given to the ANCIENT MAN OF THE DAYS (the Father that is in secret, the Monad), to become perfect and resurrected Masters. Finally the Essence has to be definitely absorbed in ISHVARA, the LOGOS, first emanation of the supreme PARABRAHAMAN (the great Ocean of the Universal Spirit of Life).
The Mystery of the Golden Blossom, 1971 also in The Being Is the Being
The Wheel of Samsara revolves 3,000 times; after this, the Essence, having passed through many purifications and sufferings returns to the Absolute, but without SelfRealisation. In the upper part of the card, the Sphinx, in equilibrium above the Wheel, represents Mother Nature. The Sphinx is the Elemental Intercessor of the Blessed Mother Goddess of the World. In it we will find represented the five elements:

There is another type of materialism and atheism, the incredulous, skeptical, MarxistLeninist type. Behind it all, there is something that that materialistic atheist is seeking, he simply wants to disappear, to not exist, to annihilate himself integrally, he does not want to know anything about the divine Monad, he hates it. Obviously, upon proceeding in this manner, he will disintegrate as he wishes. That is his choice; he will cease to exist, he will descend to the infernal worlds, towards the center of gravity of the planet. That is his choice: to self-destruct. He will perish, but in the end, he does continue, the Essence will liberate itself, will return to new evolutions and will go through new involutions. He will return again and again in different cycles of manifestations to fall into the same skepticism and materialism. In the end, the result will appear. What result? On the day when all the doors definitely close, when the three thousand cycles come to an end, then that Essence will be absorbed in the Monad and the latter will in turn enter the Universal Spiritual Bosom of Life, but without mastery. What is it that that Essence really wants? What does it look for in its atheism? What is its aspirations? Its aspirations is to reject mastery. Behind it all that is what it wants, what it gets, it does not value it and it finally ends up as a divine spark but without mastery.

The ordinary person has incarnated only an embryo of soul and is a legion of “I”s without true identity, immortality or real existence. What returns after death is not the soul but the values of the consciousness.
First of all, my beloved disciples should know that to embody the Christ we first of all need to have a soul. This affirmation may sound a little strange but in truth I say that humanity has not yet incarnated the soul. People have just incarnated an embryo of the soul. That is all.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Intimate Christ
People do not even have the Soul incarnated. The Souls of people are disincarnated. The only thing people have incarnated is an Embryo of Soul. Evil people have not even incarnated this Embryo of Soul. Only by possessing the Christified astral body, can we incarnate Soul. Ordinary people are only the vehicle of the “I”. The name of each mortal is “legion”.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
The human personality is formed during the first seven years and at 14 years personal energy appears and , flowing domineeringly through the sympathetic nervous system, sex appears at 35 years in its transcendental form of creative emotion. It is upon reaching this age that we can make what is called Soul. Normal man does not have a soul, or rather, he still is NOT a man, he doesn’t even have a soul.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
Those who do not have a Soul are sketches of men, phantoms of death. That is all. The vehicles of men without Soul are ghostly vehicles; they are not the authentic vehicles of Fire. In reality men with out Soul are not true Men. In fact the human being is still an unrealised being. Very few are they who have Soul. The great majority of beings called human still do not have Soul. Of what use is it for man to accumulate all the riches of the world if he loses his Soul?
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
The true Being is the Spirit, but, the Spirit is not yet within the individual, because the “I” has invaded the kingdom of the soul. Indeed, neither the soul nor the Spirit has incarnated within the Individual. The intellectual animal mistakenly called human being is still a possibility. The true human being is still in the process of creation. Many samples of existing human races will be in the zoological gardens of the future. We must discard all of which is animalistic within in order to properly attain the human state that until now is only a possibility.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973 also in The Being Is the Being
Man has not yet incarnated his Immortal Soul, his Divine Being; in this light we can affirm that man still does not have true existence. The annihilation of all those false and improperly named “centers of consciousness” is only possible by practicing the denial of self.

Whoever has not incarnated his Soul does not have real existence. It is a legion of “I’s” that struggle to manifest themselves through the body of man. At times the drinking “I” acts, at others the smoking “I’, the killing “I”, the stealing “I”, the loving “I” etc., etc. Conflict exists between these I’s”. That is why we see many who swear they belong to the Gnostic Movement, and later regret it, declaring them selves enemies of Gnosis. The “I” who swears to be faithful to Gnosis is displaced by another, which hates Gnosis. The “I” who swears it adores a woman is replaced by another “I” that abhors her. The “I” is a Legion of demons. How can we trust in clairvoyants who have not yet incarnated their Soul? The man who has not incarnated his Soul still does not have moral responsibility. How could we possibly trust in demons? Students of Gnosis must be very careful of those who go about “declaring themselves seers and prophesying to the people”. The true clairvoyant never says so. The Masters of the Fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries are very humble and quiet. No student of occultism is a Master. Only those who have obtained the Fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries are True Masters. Nobody is a Master before the Fifth Initiation.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Clairvoyance
True Identity The ordinary and everyday man does not have true identity, because through him is expressed only all the ghosts of the pluralized “I”. After death, man is “Legion”. The Soul He who incarnates his Soul acquires true identity. Man is an unfinished being, a work in progress.

Arcanum XIII Immortality Today’s topic of study will be the thirteenth Arcanum of the Tarot. This is the Arcanum of death. Really, death is the return to the womb. Life and death are two phenomena of one and the same thing. Death is a subtraction of whole numbers. Once the operation has finished, only the values of the consciousness remain. These values, visible with clairvoyance, look like a legion of ghosts that live on. The rebirth of those values is the mechanics of Nature. Truly the Soul does not reincarnate, because man has not yet incarnated his Soul. Only the values are reborn.

Reflect a little: up to now you are but a living ghost, a sleeping specter. You sleep, poor ghost, while your physical body sleeps, and after death you escape from the graveyard or cemetery sleeping… Woeful ghost, poor soulless being, reflect and meditate. Observe and celebrate the great covenant of Arcanum XIX so that you can incarnate your Soul and truly be. You, unfortunate creature, do not yet exist. You are asleep, you die and you know not why; you are born and you know not why. Only the blessed flame of love will make you able to truly exist, for you do not yet have real existence.

Friends, there comes to mind that verse that says: “Not dead are those who, in the sweet calm of peace enjoy the cold tomb; dead are those who have the soul dead and who still live.” The demon that replaces the owner of a body can no longer have essence of any type and with this my explanation is completely clear. These are the cases of those without a soul cited by H.P.B. in her Secret Doctrine; I am not the first one to mention this matter nor the last, but I am the first to clarify it totally.

The Internal Buddha and the Inner Christ Anyone who already owns soul and Spirit can embody their own Buddha within. If man would embody the Buddha without the inner soul and Spirit, he would not be able to withstand the tremendous power of Buddhic voltage and would burn and die.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
Part Four · 18 passages
To incarnate the soul one needs real astral, mental and causal bodies, engendered as the physical body is engendered, through sex. The fifth octave and the fifth initiation mark the point at which the soul enters.
Whoever wants to incarnate his soul must have an astral body, a mental body and a causal body. Humanity as yet does not have these vehicles. If we examine clairvoyantly the astral of any ordinary person we will see this astral as a ghost, cold and asleep. We really cannot give this astral ghost the name astral body. Whoever possesses an astral body lives awake in the internal worlds. People live asleep in the astral. When we invoke a disincarnated person we find them completely asleep. These astral ghosts speak of incoherent things and are full of cold and death.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in Awakening, The Intimate Christ
Whoever wants to incarnate his soul must have a mental body. People as yet do not have the mental body. The so-called mental body of the ordinary person does not deserve the title of mental body. The mental ghost of everyone is not the mental body. We need to create the mental body.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Mind
The Soul Will normally lives in the causal plane. Whoever wishes to incarnate their soul must then create the causal body, or body of will. Anyone who creates the astral, mental and causal bodies then has the right to incarnate their soul. Anyone who incarnates his soul is a complete man. Only the complete man earns the right to enter into the mysteries of the Venustic Initiation.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Intimate Christ
Whoever enters those mysteries incarnates the Christ. No one can incarnate the Christ without first being a complete man. No man is complete until the soul is incarnated. No one can incarnate the soul until astral, mental and causal vehicles have been created. People want to create with theories. This is the mistake of poor humanity. The body is not a child of any theory. The physical body of man is the son of the sexual act. A Hermetic aphorism says, "As above so below." If here in the physical we engender the physical body of our children with the sexual act, it follows that we can also generate the astral, mental and causal vehicles. A special copula is needed to engender these internal vehicles in the superior worlds. That special copula is the Arcanum A.Z.F. The basis of the Arcanum is to carry out the sexual act, but not ejaculate the Ens Seminis. Those who persevere with the Arcanum for life raise themselves to the Kingdom of Heaven.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Intimate Christ
All this is textually from the sacred Gospel according to Saint John. It is necessary to be born in all planes. What can a poor man or woman full of theories, practicing exercises etc., do without having been born in the astral? Of what use is it to work with the mind if we still do not have our mental body? The human being should first engender his internal vehicles and then can truly practice what he wishes and study what he wishes. However, first we should engender the internal vehicles to have the right to incarnate the Soul and much later the Word.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
If our beloved Gnostic disciples reflect on these words of Swami X, they will reach the conclusion that they are manifestly absurd. This idea of marrying the feminine physical impulse with the masculine of the internal Soul is one hundred percent false. This type of utopian marriage is impossible because man has not yet incarnated the Soul. With whom then, is he going to marry his physical feminine impulse? The intellectual animal still does not have a Soul. Whoever desires to incarnate his Soul, whoever wants to be a man with Soul must have the bodies astral, mental and causal. The human being as he is still does not have these internal vehicles. The astral ghost, the mental ghost, and the causal ghost are only ghosts. The majority of occultists believe that these internal ghosts are the true vehicles, and they are very mistaken. We need to be born in the superior worlds and the question of being born is a sexual problem.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
No human being is born of theory. Not even a simple microbe can be born of theories. No one is born through the nostrils, nor through the mouth. Every living being is born of sex. “As above so below”. If man is born of sex here in the physical world, it is logical that above, in the internal worlds, the process is analogous. Law is law and the law is fulfilled. The Christ Astral is born as the body of flesh and blood is born. That is sexual. Only with Sexual Magic between husband arid wives can one give birth to that marvelous body. We can say the same of the Mental and the Causal. We need to engender those internal bodies and that is only possible with sexual contact because, as above so below arid, as below so above. No celibate can marry his feminine physical impulse with the masculine one of his internal Soul because no celibate can incarnate his Soul. To incarnate the Soul we must engender the internal bodies, and only through the sexual union of man and woman can they be engendered. No single man or any single woman can engender or conceive. The two poles are necessary to create. That is life.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
When the legitimate Astral is born, we become immortals in the world of 24 laws (the lunar world). When the authentic Mental is born, we are immortalized in the world of 12 laws (the world of Mercury or the mind). With the birth of the true causal vehicle, we acquire immortality in the world of 6 laws (the causal world or that of Venus). When we reach these heights we incarnate our Human Soul and we are transformed into true men.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
When septenary man sexually joins with septenary woman, a mathematical sum is formed that yields as a result the fourteenth Arcanum of the Tarot. It is not superfluous to affirm in passing, that man has seven principles, woman the same. Sex is the most important and fastest acting center in the human being. The process of creating a new being is accomplished within the Law of the Musical Octaves. The seven notes of the musical scale are the foundation of all creation. If we transmute the creative energy, we initiate a new octave in the etheric world, the result of which is the birth of the Soma Puchicon (the Wedding Garment of the Soul). With this vehicle we can consciously enter all the realms of the Kingdom. The third octave allows us to engender the genuine Astral Body, the Astral Christ. Upon arriving at these heights, the old astral ghost is reduced to an empty shell that continues disintegrating little by little. The fourth octave permits us to beget the Christ Mind; this vehicle grants us true wisdom and unified thinking. Only those who have engendered the Christ Mind have the right to say, “I have a Mental Body.” One’s present mental body is merely a ghostly facade. Truly this mental ghost becomes a hollow shell when the true mind is born. It then disintegrates and is reduced to cosmic dust. The fifth musical octave engenders the authentic Causal Body. Upon reaching these heights, we incarnate the Soul; we then now have true existence. Before this moment we do not have real existence.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
In the fifth great initiation the body of conscious will is born. Every one who is born in the world of the conscious will inevitably incarnate his Soul. Everyone who incarnates his Soul becomes a true man with Soul. Every true complete and immortal man is an authentic Master. Before the fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries no one should be called by the title of Master.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
The bodies of sin putrefy inside of a glass tomb. The glass tomb is the vase of the alchemist. The Souls take flight (symbol of the butterfly that emerges from the chrysalis; symbol of the Christified vehicles that emerge from their chrysalides). An hermaphroditic body (Moon and Sun) comes to life with the celestial influence of the dew (the Ens Seminis). This hermaphroditic body is made of the internal Christic vehicles that were engendered with Sexual Magic. All of these Christic vehicles penetrate and interpenetrate each other without mixing together. When a man possesses these vehicles, he incarnates his Soul. No man is truly a man as long as he does not possess these Christic bodies. The Alchemical Retort Inside of the Retort is the materia prima of the Great Work. This venerable matter is quite volatile and is not fixed; its special characteristic is instability and variability. In lighting the sexual fire beneath the Retort of Alchemy, this venerable matter is heated up and melted down.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
This work having been completed, still something is missing. Christ Will is missing. By intensely reheating the Retort of the laboratory, a Divine Child comes to life—the Christ Will, the divine body of the soul. The one who has been successful in creating all of these Christic vehicles inside of the Alchemical Retort totally and integrally incarnates his Soul. Only those who have attained the incarnation of the Soul merit the precious title of “Man”. Only this kind of True Man can elevate himself to the Kingdom of the Superman. Only this kind of True Man can receive the Elixir of Long Life.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah also in Desire and Will
No shell or skeleton of a man can incarnate his Soul. No heartless and soulless man can receive the Elixir of Long Life. It is necessary to create the Christic vehicles in order to incarnate the Soul. Only those who have incarnated the Soul have the right to receive the marvelous elixir that lifts us to the Kingdom of the Superman.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
Fourth: The fundamental seat of the Human Soul is the sexual function. The one who transmutes his or her sexual energy has the right to incarnate one’s soul.
Esoteric Course of Kabbalah
SEX Sex is the fifth power of the human being. Sex can liberate or en slave man. No one can attain integrity no one can profoundly realize himself without the sexual force. No celibate can achieve total realization. Sex is the power of the Soul. The integral human being is achieved with the absolute fusion of the masculine and feminine pales of the Soul. The sexual force develops, evolves and progresses on seven levels (The seven levels of the Soul). In the physical world sex is a blind force of mutual attraction. In astral, sexual attraction is based on the affinity of types according to their polarities and essences. In the mental world sexual attraction takes place according to the laws of polarity and mental affinity. On the causal plane sexual attraction is realized on the basis of Conscious Will. It is precisely on this plane of natural causes where the complete union of the Soul is consciously realized, In fact, no one can attain the complete glory of the Perfect Matrimony without having reached this fourth state of human integration. We need to profoundly comprehend the whole sexual problem. We need to be integral. We need to transcend the mechanics of sex. We need to know how to procreate children of wisdom. At the supreme instant of conception, the human essences are completely open to all kinds of influences. The state of purity of the parents and their force of will to not spill the Cup of Hermes is all that can protect them from the danger that the spermatozoon and the ovum may be infiltrated by the subhuman substances of the bestial egos, which wish to reincarnate.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Return and Reincarnation
Indeed, the wretched Intellectual Animal could not incarnate in himself (within himself) his Immortal Triad, because he only possesses Internal Protoplasmic Lunar Bodies. Obviously, in his condition he will not resist the tremendous Electro-Spiritual voltage of ATMAN-BUDDHI-MANAS and would die. Whosever wants to incarnate in himself (within himself) the totality of his soul, his Divine Immortal Triad, must first descend into the Ninth Sphere (Sex) in order to create his Solar Electronic Bodies.
The Solar Bodies, 1968
The three aspects of Atman-Buddhi-Manas, Divine Spirit, Spirit of Life, or Human Spirit, have not incarnated within the human being because he still does not possess the Solar Bodies, that is to say, the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being.
Dissolving the I also in The Being Is the Being
Then he proceeded in the following way: "Your specific mission is to create Men, to teach the people to fabricate the astral, mental and causal bodies so that they can incarnate the Human Soul''.
The Three Mountains, 1972
Part Four · 17 passages
Because the ego squanders the psychic material in anger, lust and pride, the soul is made by dissolving it. Meditation, conscious will, inner judgement and forgiveness are named as means, along with what a man with soul can then do.
The ‘I’ foolishly wastes our psychic material in atomic explosions of anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, sloth, gluttony, etc. Therefore, we can understand why the psychic material does not accumulate and the soul cannot be created. To make something you need raw material: without the raw material nothing can be produced, because nothing comes out of nothing.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
The pluralised ‘I’ foolishly wastes the essence which we have within to fabricate soul. When we dissolve the pluralised ‘I’ the waster comes to an end and then the essence accumulates within ourselves, converting itself into a permanent center of gravity. When we establish a permanent center of gravity within ourselves, the sexual center comes to then work with its own energy, with its own hydrogen, the Hydrogen Si 12.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
Many people have written to us in terror because of our affirmation that man still does not have soul. Some have qualified us as materialists. Really, man has the essence within, which is needed in order to fabricate soul. The essence is a fraction of his causal principle, the psychic material with which one fabricates soul. The essence transforms into soul by dissolving the ‘I’. The ‘I’ foolishly squanders the psychic material in atomic explosions of anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, laziness, gluttony, etc. By dissolving the ‘I’, the one who squanders is eliminated and then the essence is strengthened until it transforms into soul, which can be mortal or immortal. It is mortal if it does not receive the Fire of the Holy Spirit. That Sacred Fire is the result of the intelligent transmutation of our sexual secretions through the Maithuna.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
Only with intellectual analysis and deep meditation do we fully understand our shortcomings in all the levels of the mind. When a defect is fully understood in all the levels of the mind, it weakens its corresponding ego, i.e. the death of a small defect weakens the fatal ego it stems from and creates in its place something new: a virtue, a power of the soul, a truth, and so on. It is urgent to die from instant to instant. With the death of the ‘I’ the soul is born. We need the complete death of the pluralised ‘I’.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Science of Meditation
‘When we finish with all of our sins, then the “I” is dissolved. When the “I” is dissolved, then we incarnate the soul and the Spirit. Indeed, this is how we become human beings in the most complete sense of the word.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973 also in The Being Is the Being
The Gods from nature had worked very much in order to create self-cognizant beings. The Gods have performed difficult experiments within the laboratories of nature. However, it is good to know that the struggle in order to create true human beings has not finished yet. Still, the human being, or the so called human, has to discharge a lot of elements that will be present in the zoological gardens of the future. The kingdom of Malkuth is a terrible filter; whosoever wants to be free of this fatal wheel of Samsara has to dissolve the ego and to incarnate their Soul. Those who achieve it are very rare. The common and ordinary are the refuse of this filter and are swallowed by the abyss. The gold, the select, the true human being, is the one who has their Soul and Spirit incarnated; they are awakened within the internal worlds after death.
The Mayan Mysteries, 1977
Only by making soul do we establish a permanent principle of consciousness within ourselves. He who has Soul lives consciously after death. The Soul may be created with the accumulation of the finest energies the organism produces and the crystallisation through supreme efforts, to make one self conscious in a total and definitive way.
The Book of the Dead, 1965 also in Awakening
It is urgent that we create conscious will, it is indispensable that we subject all our thoughts and acts to the INNER JUDGEMENT. Only in this way can we know ourselves in depth in order to create Soul.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
In fact, liberation begins in the sixth dimension, the world of the divine spirit; it is the Electronic World of the SIXTH DIMENSION. All those who die enter the fifth dimension. Eternity opens to devour the dead and then expels then from its bosom to return them to the world of time and physical form. The dead are expelled from eternity because they still do not have BEING. Only those who have BEING can live in eternity. The BEING is the INTIMATE, the SPIRIT. It is necessary to work first with molecular material to make soul and them to refine the energy of this soul to a higher grade to make spirit. It is necessary to transmute molecular material into electronic material and cause the fission of the atom to liberate the sacred fire that converts us into divine spirits.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
The intellectual animal falsely named man dies unconsciously and is born unconsciously, and goes blindly from the cradle to the grave, without knowing where he comes from or where he is going. In making Soul we awaken Consciousness and only then become aware of the mysteries of life and death. Any man with Soul can negotiate with the Angels of Death, and disincarnate himself at will, in accordance with his needs. This means having the power to lengthen his life if he considers it necessary in order to realise or complete some task in the physical world.
The Book of the Dead, 1965 also in Awakening
Only those who have acquired Soul live conscious of the Superior Regions of the Universe.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
Those who possess an Electronic Body are in a position to help their disciples to create their own Souls. Any true instructor teaches his disciples to create Soul. Any man with Soul is a true reformer. A man with Soul can help his disciples, teaching them the theory of acquisition of their Soul. But only a man who has an Electronic Body can work with the embryo Souls in the same way that a man with a Cellular Body can work with the earth’s minerals.
The Book of the Dead, 1965
In these moments, the Great White Lodge is intensely occupied with the awakening of human consciousness. The Adepts struggle in tensely to teach the human being to leave at will in the astral body. They want people to awaken, and all that goes against this great law is a crime. The whole objective of the descent of Spirit into matter is to create Soul, and to become self-conscious of itself. When we direct mental power towards the interior of our own intimate centre, the resistance that we will find internally will cause a reaction, and the more vigorous the centripetal force that we apply, the more vigorous will be the resulting centrifugal force. Thus we create Soul. Thus we invigorate the embryo of the Soul, and finally one day, when we have already been born as Serpent Birds, we will come fletely absorb and assimilate within our astral body, the totality of the Soul.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in Awakening
Every individual can fabricate a soul. When we know the technique of internal meditation, when we direct mental power to the interior of our own divine center, the resistance that we will find will cause a reaction and the more vigorous the centripetal force we apply, the more vigorous the centrifugal force will be. In this way we fabricate a soul, in this manner the soul grows and expands. The strong and robust soul incarnates and transforms the physical body, transforms it into more subtle and elevated matter until it also converts it into soul.
Introduction to Gnosis also in The Science of Meditation
Fortunately, within the human biped exists something else, the Essence. Reflecting seriously on said principle, we can conclude that this is the most elevated psychic material with which we can give shape to our Soul. By awakening the Essence we create a Soul to awaken the Essence is to awaken Con&. To awaken consciousness is equivalent to creating within us a PCC. Only the one who awakens consciousness becomes an individual, however, the individual is not the end, later, we have to reach super-individuality.
The Revolution of the Dialectic also in Awakening
Regarding the Gnostic esoteric work, it is written that the growth of one’s soul is only possible through the forgiveness of others.
Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, 1975 also in Seventy Times Seven
It is urgent to fabricate Soul if we really want to save ourselves. We have already said the human being only has incarnated an Embryo of Soul. We have also said that we need to strengthen this Embryo and later incarnate the Cosmic Soul. Now it is good to clarify, that to incarnate the Soul signifies at heart to be assimilated, devoured by the Tiger of Wisdom. We need the Tiger of Wisdom to devour us. This Tiger is the Intimus, our Real Being. The Aztecs say that the first race that existed in the world was devoured by tigers. In Yucatan existed the Temple of the Tigers. Quetzalcoatl, with his tiger claws, traps the human heart. The Tiger Cult was never absent in any of the Mystery Temples of America. The Order of the Tiger Knights was very sacred in Aztec Mexico.

Part Four · 16 passages
In his last teaching he prefers “crystallize” to “fabricate”: each aggregate destroyed leaves a virtue, a power or a law in its place. This happens only through great emotional crises, as water must reach a hundred degrees to boil.
It is possible to crystallize the Soul within ourselves by dissolving the animal ego. We need to dissolve the undesirable psychological elements in order to crystallize the Soul within ourselves.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
In the final synthesis, we can crystallize the Soul within ourselves by means of Buddhist and Christic annihilation, meaning, by disintegrating psychic aggregates, or Dry Mercury.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Thus, it is necessary to understand that there is a need to eliminate the undesirable elements of our psyche in order to crystallize in our human person that which is called soul: a set of forces, attributes, virtues, cosmic powers, etc. Nevertheless, I must say that the intellect is not everything. The intellect is useful when it is in the service of the Spirit, but the intellect is not everything. Unquestionably, we must go through great emotional crises if we want to crystallize the soul in ourselves. If water does not boil at one hundred degrees [Celsius), that which needs to be crystallized does not crystallize, and that which must be eliminated is not eliminated. In the same way, if we have not previously gone through serious emotional crises, that which is called soul will not crystallize in us; that which has to be eliminated in us will not be eliminated. This is how it is. That is how it has always been! When the soul crystallizes completely in one, even the physical body itself becomes soul.
The Fifth Gospel The Exercise of Self-knowledge
We have previously stated that if the water does not boil at one hundred degrees, that which must be dissolved is not dissolved, and that which must be crystallized is not crystallized. If, as well, we do not pass through great emotional crises, then we cannot dissolve the psychic aggregates, nor can we crystallize the Soul.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
But we know well that if water does not boil at one hundred degrees, that which must crystallize does not crystallize and that which must be disintegrated does not disintegrate. So, in any case, it is necessary for water to boil at one hundred degrees. Obviously, if we do not go through great emotional crises, neither can we succeed in crystallizing the soul. For the radical dissolution of any inhuman psychic aggregate, it is undoubtedly necessary to go through very serious emotional crises.
The Fifth Gospel Work Taste and Life Taste Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1976
It is unquestionable that when a psychological defect is disintegrated, that it is replaced with a virtue, power, force or law, which crystallizes within our human personality. This is how we are crystallizing the Soul little by little. Obviously, even the physical body must be converted into Soul.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Each time a psychic aggregate is disintegrated, a virtue, a power, or a law, etc., is crystallized. Thus, this is how we will reach the crystallization of the Soul. This is how we will possess our Soul. Even the very same body must convert itself into Soul.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
When one breaks and disintegrates completely the psychic aggregate of lust –or the aggregates, because they are many–, that precious virtue of the soul known as chastity crystallizes in the Essence that we carry within. When one succeeds in destroying, annihilating the psychic aggregate of hatred, then the precious virtue of love crystallizes in one. When one manages to reduce to cosmic dust the psychic aggregate of selfishness, then the precious virtue of altruism or of “christ-centrism” crystallizes in one. When one manages to annihilate the psychic aggregate of pride, then the ineffable virtue of humility crystallizes in us.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977 also in Pride, Hatred, Lust and Chastity
Each time we disintegrate a psychic aggregate, a virtue, which comes from the Height, from Heaven, crystallizes in our Essence.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
The heavenly virtues crystallize in the Essence. The Essence, charged with the virtues, powers, laws, etc., is dressed with the Soma Puchicon. The Soul dressed with the Soma Puchicon is the human being of the Fifth Round, the liberated human. In the Fifth Round, the Earth will be blue, ethereal, transparent and ineffable.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Each time that we eliminate a psychic aggregate, a virtue, a power, a law, a faculty, a gift, etc. crystallizes. That is how little by little we crystallize the soul in us. That soul, which normally lives out there, in the Milky Way, traveling, will slowly crystallize in us. However, we have to state also that “if water does not boil at one hundred degrees”, that which must crystallize in us does not crystallize, and that which must be disintegrated does not disintegrate.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
As you do it, as the psychic aggregates pulverize, the Consciousness, the Essence bottled up inside them, will keep emancipating. This is the path to crystallize in us that which is called soul.
The Fifth Gospel Didactics for Buddhist Annihilation Conference at the end of the Missionary Course – Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico – From June 15 to August 30. 1976
Continuing with these questions, we will say that the vital body is the one that sustains all the processes of organic life, let us call it Linga Sharira or bioplastic body, it does not matter. As we disintegrate the inhuman psychic aggregates, as we crystallize the soul, a part of the vital body, the most elevated part, will detach itself from the inferior part and will completely integrate with the Essence and the virtues that the Essence will have crystallized.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
It is possible to convert the physical body in the Temple of the Truth, by means of the sexual creative energy of Shiva, or the Holy Spirit, It is possible to inherit the Light-Kingdom only by means of the Mysteries of Virtue. Virtues will not be born within us, if the ego is not annihilated If the virtues do not crystallize in us, we will never possess our Souls. With patience, you will possess your Soul.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983 also in The Flower That Is Born
This is why it is absolutely necessary to eliminate defects and to crystallize the Soul. The perfect number of Souls who will receive the Mysteries of the Light is ineffable. If Christ had shortened the periods within ourselves, then no Soul would have been able to be saved. In other words, this signifies that the crystallization of the Soul in human persons would have been unsuccessful.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
A practice
If in deep meditation we ask Devi Kundalini-Shakti, the mystical Serpent of the Great Mysteries, for help, we will achieve being assisted. She can pulverize any psychic aggregate if it has been previously comprehended in all the levels of the mind. And once annihilated, some virtue of the soul will emerge in its place, some new characteristic, some law, some special gift, some quality. Through this indicated path, one manages to break, precisely, any aggregate. Undoubtedly, if we attain the absolute destruction of the various undesirable psychic elements, the totality of the soul will have crystallized in each one of us. This would indicate that the Essence, enriched with all the animic attributes, could in turn dress in the Soma Heliakon, which is the Vehicle of the Soul, the “Wedding Garment”. That is how in reality the Celestial Man is born in us; he will no longer be a prisoner of the body, I repeat.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977 also in The Science of Meditation
Part Four · 8 passages
Each person has an immortal soul without yet possessing it. It travels in the Milky Way and becomes one's own, and the physical body with it, as the aggregates disappear.
It is good to know that, at the present time, our center of gravity, that is, our magnetic center, has been fully established in the personality. It is necessary for that magnetic center to change its place: to take it out of the personality and establish it in the Consciousness, this is obvious. As we disintegrate the undesirable elements that we carry within us, the personality will become more passive and the Essence or Consciousness more active. When all the undesirable elements that we carry within us are reduced to cosmic dust, the Consciousness will be one hundred percent active and the personality totally at peace. It will then become, the vehicle of the Consciousness. When that happens, we will possess our soul. Now you will be able to understand the profound meaning of that phrase of the Gospel that says: “In patience you will possess your souls.” At the present time, we cannot say that we possess our soul. On the contrary, the soul possesses us, we are a heavy burden for our soul, we are like a cancerous tumor for our soul. But when we completely destroy the Ego, then the liberated Consciousness, the pure Essence will manifest through our human person with all the dominion of ancient times; it will again talk in the pure language of the divine tongue like a river of gold, running under the dense selva of the sun; it will again see the Gods of fire, air, water, earth; the Princes of the elements will open to us the doors of their paradises. We will have returned to the paradisiacal state. It will be then, when we will really possess our soul, when we will truly be only soul; even our own human body will become soul, and we will be one hundred percent soul.
The Fifth Gospel The Wonders of Awakened Consciousness Public Lecture – 1975
The Gospels say: “In your patience you will possess your souls.” Nowadays, we do not possess our souls; rather, our soul possesses us. We are a heavy load for that which is called soul, a really overwhelming burden. Being able to possess a soul is a longing; being the owner of our own soul is formidable. Furthermore, the physical body itself must transform into the soul.
The Fifth Gospel Work Taste and Life Taste Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1976
And as for the soul in itself: have you perhaps succeeded in crystallizing it? If I were to say that you do not have an immortal soul, I would also be lying consciously or unconsciously. Obviously, each one of you has his immortal soul, but you do not possess it.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
Your soul, where is it? It travels through the Milky Way, it moves in all this galaxy. But you, who are sitting here, do not possess it; you know you have it, but one thing is to know that you have it and another thing is to possess it. So it is worth possessing it. But, how could one get to possess his soul? Well by disintegrating definitively all the psychic aggregates. Because the soul and the aggregates are incompatible, they are like oil and water: they cannot mix. If we do not succeed in disintegrating the psychic aggregates, the living personification of our defects of a psychological type, we lose the soul. “For what profit is it to a man” says Jesus the Christ “if he acquires all the treasures of the world, but loses his soul?”. That is of no use to him. Is it possible to lose the soul? Yes, it is possible. Whoever enters the Infernal Worlds, loses his soul, that is obvious. It is sad to lose that treasure. Would there be any way not to lose it? Yes, I repeat: by crystallizing it in oneself, here and now.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
He who possesses his soul, has extraordinary powers at his disposal. Those who have been able to crystallize the soul have become, for this reason, absolutely different persons. And this is written down as a testimony in the sacred books of all the religions of the world.
The Fifth Gospel Work Taste and Life Taste Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1976
On the day that you will have acquired enlightened Consciousness, on the day that you will have become truly free, on that day also you will have crystallized that which is called soul, you will be entirely soul; even your physical body will become soul; you will be charged with cosmic attributes and powers, powers that divinize.
The Fifth Gospel Didactics for Buddhist Annihilation Conference at the end of the Missionary Course – Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico – From June 15 to August 30. 1976
So, the Bodhicitta that the Orientals talk about is the Etheric Man, the man who has crystallized his soul in himself, who possesses it, the true Lord. He who possesses the Bodhicitta inside himself will be able to immerse himself at the bottom of the oceans without suffering any damage and to visit the temples of the Serpent.
The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977
I know many scholars of sparkling intellectuality who have drunk from all the philosophies, be it from the West or the East of the world, who know Hebrew and Sanskrit and Greek, etc., but they suffer beyond words, they do not enjoy Enlightenment, because they have not yet fabricated the “Bodhicitta”. This word may sound a little strange to you: it is an oriental term. In Japan, China, India, Nepal –where Gautama, the Buddha Sakyamuni, was born–, the crystallized soul was called “Bodhicitta”, be it in a man or in a woman, of course.

The Golden Embryo is a soul already made. Once it is clothed in the solar bodies, the wedding garment, the Superior Manas enters it and the person becomes a sacred individual.
That Embryo is, in itself, a fabricated soul. Such an Embryo is very beautiful and, being well developed, can have the same or even a larger size than that of the physical body. The Golden Embryo is also called the “Golden Flower”, and when it establishes itself in us, it forms a wonderful balance between the spiritual and the material.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Meaning of the Golden Embryo Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1971
The Embryo of Gold, dressed in the Wedding Clothes of the Soul, truly experiences supreme bliss in the instant in which it fuses with the Human Soul. From that instant it is said of us that we are Men with Soul, Sacred Individuals, truly responsible persons in the most complete sense of the word. In the Embryo of Gold are found condensed all of the experiences of life, and for this reason it clearly originates deep transformations in the immortal pneumatic principles of man. This is how we become Adepts of the White Brotherhood.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
Once we have achieved that the Golden Flower, that the Golden Embryo shines in us, then comes the union with the super-soul, that super-soul of which Emerson spoke to us, that super-soul of which Goethe, the author of Faust spoke to us. In orientalist or theosophist language, that super-soul is known as Superior Manas. We know that the Inferior Manas also exists, but we are not referring to the latter. Obviously, we are citing the Superior Manas, the third aspect of the trimurti Atman-BuddhiManas, and it is necessary to know this. The fusion of the Golden Embryo with the super-soul turns us, in fact, into Sacred Individuals, authentic, legitimate, true men.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Meaning of the Golden Embryo Third Chamber – Mexico City – 1971
In his "Faust", he unfolds Faith with great precision and the possibility of the elevation of the liberated "Golden Embryo" to a "Super-Soul" (The Superior Manas of Theosophy). When this happens, the aforementioned theosophical principle penetrates us and fusing with the GOLDEN EMBRYO, passes through extraordinary inner transformations, it is then said of us that we are men with Soul.
The Mystery of the Golden Blossom, 1971
The ‘Second Birth’ is an extraordinary, marvelous cosmic event. Here is where we incarnate the third aspect of the Trimurti: Atman-Buddhi-Manas. The Human Soul (the Superior Manas of the Hindustani) enters within the ‘Auric Embryo.’ From that moment, it can be said that we are human beings with Soul, sacred individuals, truly responsible people in the most complete sense of the word.
Parsifal Unveiled, 1970
At any rate, the incarnation of the Human Soul or third aspect of the Hindustani Trimurti, known as Atman-Buddhi-Manas in us, and its combining with the Golden Embryo, is an extraordinary cosmic event that radically transforms us. The incarnation of the Superior Manas within us does not imply the entrance of Atman and Buddhic principles into our organism. This last matter concerns the subsequent work about which we shall talk in depth in our future book entitled THE THREE
The Mystery of the Golden Blossom, 1971
That the distinct, interpenetrated Solar Bodies constitute in themselves the Wedding Garment of the soul is something which must not surprise us.
Runic Magic, 1969
Only by making the solar vehicles can we incarnate that which is called the Human Soul; I wish to refer to the third aspect of the hindustani Trimurti: “Atman-BuddhiManas”. Much has been said concerning the famous To Soma Heliakon, the golden body of the Solar Man. Unquestionably it is the Wedding Dress of the Soul cited by the biblical Christic Gospel. Obviously, such a garment is made up of the super sensible bodies, by those extraordinary crystallisations of the Sexual Hydrogen Si-12 (or Te-12).
The Three Mountains, 1972 also in Alchemy
The soul can elaborate TO SOMA HELIAKON, the Wedding Garment, the Egyptian Sahu, only based on incessant sexual transmutations, by working with the Sahaja Maithuna. Wretched solitary soul, dress yourself with the nuptial attire, betroth yourself with your Beloved One so that you can sit at the table with the guests.
My Return to Tibet, 1969
If you understand that, you will also understand the need to crystallize your soul. Only in that way will you be able to become independent from the physical body. In reality and in truth, the body of flesh and blood is very dense, material and heavy. When one manages to fabricate the Soma Psychikón, that is, the etheric christified body which serves as a vehicle for the Essence enriched with the attributes of the soul, the Spirit-Man is born in one. That Spirit-Man will no longer be imprisoned in the dense body, he will be able to enter and leave the body at will; he is the glorious Adept.

Part Four · 8 passages
A soul that is not incarnated or crystallized is lost, and whoever loses it sinks into the infernal worlds. He reads the Gospel question about gaining the whole world in this sense.
In preceding chapters we have already said that the human being has still not incarnated his Soul. Only with Sexual Magic can we engender the internal vehicles. They, as with plants, sleep latent within the hard darkness of the grain, of the seed which is deposited in the seminal system. When the human being has the Christic vehicles, he can incarnate his Soul. Whoever does not work with the Grain, whoever does not practise Sexual Magic cannot germinate his Christic bodies. Whoever does not have Christic bodies, can nei ther incarnate his Soul. He loses his Soul, and in the long term submerges in the abyss where he disintegrates slowly. Jesus, the Great Master, said, ‘For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
Whoever does not incarnate his Soul, loses it. He who does not have Christic vehicles does not incarnate Soul. Whoever does not work with the Grain does not have Christic vehicles. Whoever does not practise Sexual Magic does not work with the Grain. The resurrection of the dead is only for Men with Soul. In fact only Men with Soul are true Men in the fullest sense of the word. Only true Men can achieve the Great Resurrection. Only Men with Soul can endure the funereal trials of the thirteenth Arcanurn. These trials are more horrifying than death itself.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
When a human person does not fabricate Soul, it is logical that he is lost, and descends into the abyss. But this is not important to the Intimus. This is like a leaf that falls from the Tree of Life, one leaf without any importance. The Intimus continues attending to the other personalities, struggling so that they may fabricate Soul, so as to devour them as the Tiger of Wisdom.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966) also in The Being Is the Being
When the serpent ascends, it fortifies the soul, strengthening it, filling it with all the powers of the Holy Spirit. When the serpent descends, it kills the soul and strengthens, fortifies and fills the dark powers of Satan. Thus man becomes a dreadful, awful beast and is precipitated into the Abyss.
The Christmas Messages, 1952–66
Our interior enemies, the red demons of Seth, take counsel in order to take our Soul away from us. What purpose would it serve to conquer all the kingdoms of the world if we lose our Soul?
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Whosoever does not crystallize the Soul within himself, loses his Soul.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Whosoever loses his Soul sinks himself into the Infernal Worlds.
Pistis Sophia Unveiled, 1983
Master: “For what profit is it to a man”, says Jesus the Christ “if he gains all the treasures of the world, and loses his own soul? It would be better for him to not have been born, or to hang a millstone to his neck and throw himself to the bottom of the sea”. These are words of the Nazarene. He who does not work on himself, loses his soul, submerges in the Infernal Worlds until Second Death; he is a hopeless case. I do not wish such fate on you, it is the greatest misfortune that can happen to someone. It is better to possess it, and one can only possess it when it crystallizes in oneself. Any other question?

Part Five · 25 passages
The soul's task is to reunite with its Intimate, and when it does it becomes an angel, a Master, free of karma. The last passages give the opposite case, the soul that moves away from its Spirit and falls.
The soul aspires for the union with his Intimate, and the Intimate aspires for the union with his ‘Glorian’.
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950
Listen to me, a Master abides in the bottom of your soul, he awaits in mystical lurking, waiting for the hour that He will be self-realized. Listen to me beloved disciple, that Master is your Intimate and you are the soul of that Master The Intimate becomes Master with the fruits of millinery experiences, through innumerable reincarnations.
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950
Listen dear reader, each time that you wear a new suit of flesh, you are a little less of a villain, a little less of an assassin, a little less envious. This is because one truly learns from life’s club blows, and the soul is really perfected through suffering. When the wild colt is tamed with a whip, then the day for the soul to be united with its Intimate arrives, and the soul is converted into an angel.
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950
When the soul merges with the Intimate One, that is, mingles with the Intimate One, when it again becomes one with Him, then it becomes an angel. The Intimate One is a flame. The soul is another flame. When the two flames join, they form a single flame. This flame is an angel. And thus, angels are perfect people, repentant souls, people who repented their sins, their evil deeds, their fornications, their acts of adultery, their homicides, etc. God is the Intimate One who is within us, the universal spirit of life. He is the divine fire which is in the rock, in the waters, in the air, everywhere in space. All infinity is animated by divine fire. God is a sea of burning fire. The burning fire is everywhere. Fire is God. Fire is Pentecost. It is God. The fire which Moses saw in the bush of Horeb is God. The Intimate One which we have within ourselves is a flame of divine fire: it is God within us. The Intimate One is the divine person. It is the heavenly person who is within us. When the soul mingles with the Intimate One, it becomes Him. Then we become angels. Angels are in nature, they are in the rivers, in the sea, in the clouds, in the volcanoes, everywhere.
The Mysteries of Life and Death
After this, the soul unites with the Intimate One and becomes a master; prophet, wise man, enlightened being, possessor of power. He sees all, hears all, is ignorant of nothing. Once the soul has united totally, absolutely with the Intimate One, then it becomes and angel. Angels are perfect people.
The Mysteries of Life and Death
174. When the Soul unites with the INNER-SELF, man becomes an angel.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
Nature casts its shadows on the Master, but the Inner Master is beyond all shadow. When the Soul fuses with the Inner Master, then it becomes free from Nature and enters the supreme happiness of absolute existence.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
The whole Via Crusis of the divine Rabbi of Galilee is the path of the Initiation that the Initiate must walk on to go towards the Golgotha of “High Initiation”. Once there, the soul is united with its Intimate and immortalizes itself and reaches the ineffable souls of pleroma.
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950 also in The Intimate Christ
25. There is the need to transmute the water into wine in order to raise our metallic serpent upon the reed, as Moses did in the wilderness. 26. This is how the soul unites itself with the Intimate, within the blazing universal flames.
Igneous Rose, 1954 also in Igneous Rose
When the igneous serpent reaches the brain, then the soul is united with the Intimate One and thus enters Eden. The soul which unites with the Intimate One has power over earth, over water, over fire. It can command winds and hurricanes. It can hear and see the things of the heavens, of the earth and the abyss and is able to know all divine things. JESUS CHRIST said: "The miracles which I have performed, you too can perform them, and more" and so the only way to enter Paradise is through the gate through which we left it. That gate is sex. Nobody can enter Paradise through false gates.
The Mysteries of Life and Death
Nine Initiations of Minor Mysteries and nine of Major Mysteries exist. There is no Initiation without purification. In each Initiation something dies within the human being (see The Book of the Dead). We must lose everything in order to gain everything. The soul enters into the world of the Gods and gets married with her Innermost when she liberates herself from the four bodies of sin.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973
To become an Initiate, one has to endure a magical ritual in which the soul, momentarily, is liberated from the four bodies of sin and ascends towards the superior vertex of the triangle of life, from where the soul can contemplate, on one side, his physical-animal life, and on the other side, his spiritual life. From that moment, the Initiate lives with a secret longing within the heart: to accomplish a mission of service towards all fellowmen. From that moment he knows that he is not an animal being but the Innermost incarnated within a body, and that God and the Masters are with him in all the crucial moments of his terrestrial life.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973
The first Serpent corresponds to the physical body. It is necessary to raise the first Serpent through the medullar channel of the physical body. When the Serpent reaches the magnetic field at the root of the nose, the candidate attains the first Initiation of Major Mysteries. The Soul and the Spirit come before the Great White Lodge without the Bodies of Sin and in complete absence of the “I”. They look at each other, they love and fuse as two flames which unite to form a single flame. Thus the Divine Hermaphrodite is born, and receives a throne from which to rule and a temple in which to officiate. We should transform ourselves into Kings and Priests of Nature according to the Order of Meichizedek. Whoever receives the first Initiation of Major Mysteries, receives the flaming sword that gives him power over the four elements of nature. We need to practice Sexual Magic intensely to raise the Serpent upon the staff, as Moses did in the desert. Love is the basis and foundation of initiation. It is necessary to know how to love. The struggle to raise the Serpent is very difficult. The Serpent should rise slowly degree by degree. There are thirty three vertebrae. There are thirty three degrees. In each vertebra the tenebrous attack us terribly. Kundalini rises very slowly according to the merits of the heart. We have to put an end to all our sins.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
Those authors who consider this to be evolution, the return to divine hermaphrodism etc., are mistaken. The authentic hermaphrodite is not of intermediate sex. The hermaphrodite of the submerged continent of Lemuria was complete, having both sexes totally developed and evolved. They were not infrasexuals. They were not of intermediate sex. Today it is only possible to find the divine hermaphrodite in the Spirit and Soul that is fused and perfect. The completely feminine Soul and the completely masculine Spirit are fused in initiation. An Angel is a divine hermaphrodite. No Angel is of intermediate sex. It is necessary to place ourselves upon the Path of the Revolution of Consciousness. This path departs from the laws of evolution and involution. Really this is the straight, narrow and difficult path, of which the Great Kabir Jesus spoke.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
When the Beloved one becomes transformed into the soul, and when the soul becomes transformed into the Beloved One, that which we call The Son of Man is born from this Ineffable Divine and human mixture.
The Aquarian Message, 1960
The Great Lord of Light, being the Son of the living God, becomes the Son of Man, when he transform himself into the human soul. The Sun-Man is the result of all our purifications and bitterness. The Sun-Man is divine and human.
The Aquarian Message, 1960
When the human soul unites with its Intimate, then, it does not have Karma to pay, because when an inferior law is transcended by a superior law, the superior law washes away the inferior law.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978) also in Seventy Times Seven, Igneous Rose, The Intimate Christ
It is an assignment for the soul to laboriously climb the septenary ladder of the light, in order to pass beyond light and darkness. The soul has to pass fifty doors in order to unite herself with the Glorian. The following is copied from a Gnostic Ritual: “Up above, in the unknown heights, there is a palace. The floor of that palace is of gold, lapis lazuli and jasper. Yet, in the middle of everything blows a breath of death. Woe to thee, oh warrior, oh fighter, if your servant succumbs, yet there are remedies and remedies.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978)
Only by means of the mysteries of the Lingam-Yoni, and Pudenda, is it possible to connect the soul with the spirit, the Macrocosm with the Microcosm.
For the Few, 1980
Whoever makes Soul fuses himself with the Great Universal Soul. Whoever makes Spirit is united with the Universal Spirit of Life. “Because unto everyone that hath shall be given and he will have abundance.....And throw the useless servant into the outer darkness. There will be wailing and the gnashing of teeth .” (Matthew25, verses 29,30).
The Book of the Dead, 1965
This is the First initiation of greater Mysteries. In this initiation, the soul unites with the Inner-Self and we become Masters of Greater Mysteries of the White Brotherhood. One needs much humility to attain the union with the Inner-Self. The Apocalypse tells us, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” The first love is the Eternal Beloved One, the Internal God, the Ineffable One. The soul suffers terribly when she abandons the Be loved One.
The Aquarian Message, 1960
The Intimate or Innermost is our internal sun. Thus, the soul who removes itself from its Intimate falls into the abyss.
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950 also in The Being Is the Being
The Spirit is our Real Being. The soul who removes itself from its own Spirit is disintegrated. This is the second death.
The Revolution of Beelzebub, 1950 also in The Being Is the Being
When Set is disintegrated totally then the Consciousness, the Soul, is freed, awakens completely. Then there is interior illumination. Truly, the Resurrection of the Soul is only possible through cosmic Initia tion. Human beings are dead and are only able to revive by means of Initiation. Let us remember the words of Jesus, the Great Kabir: “...and let the dead bury their dead” (Matthew 8. 22).

Initiation by initiation, the Divine Soul is fused with the Intimate and the Human Soul is then added, until Atman-Buddhi-Manas is one flame. It closes with his own account of calling each soul into himself.
High initiation is the fusion of two principles: Atma-Buddhi or the five principal initiations of greater mysteries.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
With the first we achieve the fusion of Atma-Buddhi and with the fifth, we add the Manas to this fusion, and so the septenary is reduced to a trinity; “Atma-Buddhi Manas”. There are a total of 9 initiations of greater mysteries.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
The High Initiation is the fusion of the Spiritual Soul with the Intimate. The Spiritual Soul is the Buddhic or Intuitive body. When the Buddhic body is fused with the Intimate, then a new Heavenly Man, a new Master is born.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978)
78. Buddhi (the Divine Soul) becomes united with Shiva (the Innermost) when the Kundalini reaches the chakra Sahasrara. This is the First Initiation of Major Mysteries. EXERCISE OF PRANAYAMA 79. Let the disciple sit down on the ground, crossing his legs in the oriental style. This position is called Padmasana in India.
The Mysteries of Fire, 1955
42. In the High Initiation, the Divine Soul is completely fused with the Intimate and the Intimate is then born in the internal worlds as a new Master of the Major Mysteries of the Universal White Fraternity.

The Elixir of Long Life 1. When the Divine Soul is united with the INNER SELF, there is born in the internal worlds a new Master of greater Mysteries.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
26. At one hundred years of esoteric age, the Divine Soul fuses with the INNER-SELF, and so a new Master is born in the internal worlds. 27. At five hundred years of esoteric age, the Soul also fuses with the INNER-SELF.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
When the Inner Being and the soul-spirit fuse, a new Master of humanity is born, and when the “Manas” or human soul is added to this fusion, then a new blessed one is born.

2. When to this union of the INNER SELF with the Divine Soul is added the Human Soul, then a MAHATMA is born. 3. MAHATMA means GREAT SOUL.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
From the physical body, through the Kundalini, we extract the “soul-conscience” which, absorbed in the buddhi, becomes fused with the Inner Being. From the etheric body, we extract through the golden Kundalini of this body, the sapient-soul.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
Christification is achieved in parts, body by body. The first thing which becomes Christified is the soul-conscience, which we extract from the physical body through the Kundalini of such a body, to enrich the soul-spirit or buddhic body.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
From the Astral through the snowy Kundalini of that vehicle, we extract the conscious soul. From the mental body through its respective Kundalini, we extract a spiritual summary of the astral body. From the causal or will body we extract a spiritual tablet, or human soul. The other two serpents take us to the ineffable bliss of Nirvana. These are the seven degrees of the power of fire. Only the terror of love and law reign throughout these seven portals.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
The fifth serpent belongs to the causal body, from which we extract the human soul or manas to fuse it with Atma-Buddhi. This is the fifth initiation and confers the degree “Aseka” upon us.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
The fifth serpent belongs to the causal body or superior manas, from where we extract the human-soul to fuse it with the Internal Master, and so we synthesize the septenary into the triad of “Atma-Buddhi-Manas”.
Zodiacal Course, 1951
The great Egyptian sages accepted him, the Master came out of the room and entered a small sanctuary of the solitary temple. It was winter time and the Masters protected themselves from the cold by wrapping themselves with blue and white religious shawls. This is how the Master joined the mysteries of the fifth serpent, which ascends through the central channel of the spinal column of the will-soul. We have already said that the Inner-Self has two souls, the will-soul and the soul-consciousness. The sixth serpent belongs to the soul-consciousness; the seventh belongs to the Inner - Self himself. They are seven serpents; two groups of three with the sublime coronation of the seventh tongue of fire which unites us with the One, with the Law, with the Father. Therefore, the InnerSelf with his two twin souls, is pure,, ineffable spirit. The four material bodies are the temple of the triune eternal spirit. Paul of Tarsus said, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” The Most High is the InnerSelf in us. The testament of wisdom says, “Before the false aurora appeared on Earth, those who survived the hurricane and the tempest praised the Inner-Self, and unto them appeared the heralds of the aurora.”
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
The Fifth Serpent converts the Human Soul into an ineffable Christ; we then have the will of the Lord.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956
14. I tell my ARHAT that the EGO - MANAS must ascend up to the ATMAN - BUDDHI to fuse with him.
Christ Will, 1959
16. I tell my ARHAT that when the EGO - MANAS fuses with the ATMAN - BUDDHI, it becomes charged with all the ineffable powers of the INTIMATE and becomes Omnipotent. 17. I tell my ARHAT that the Fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries is the First Initiation to the NIRVANA.
Christ Will, 1959
Indeed, we are not what we think we are. Your name might be Joseph or Mary, but your true reality is the Innermost that the Aztecs in their Theology call Quetzalcoatl, the Divine Twin. Observe in the inferior lower part of the Solar Stone the two fiery serpents, united by their tongues, one in front of the other. In chapter seven we stated that the xiuhcoatl are the eternal pairs of opposites; to this we must add that they are the symbol of the Innermost in the man and in the woman. The Innermost has two souls and a septuplet body in each one of its poles of manifestation, masculine and feminine, which were given unto him by Jehovah God when he was expelled out from Eden. The Master Paul of Tarsus states: “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my Spirit, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Romans 7:23 The Willpower-Soul ceases of being and is united with the Innermost in the Fifth Initiation of Major Mysteries. The Consciousness-Soul ceases to be and is united with the Innermost in the Sixth Initiation of Major Mysteries.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973 also in The Being Is the Being
Fifth Initiation. The Human Soul or Causal body, or body of Will, is fused with the Internal Master, who is Atmãn Buddhi (Intimus and Consciousness). Thus, the three flames are one. This is a new and legitimate Master of the Major Mysteries of the White Lodge. Who ever reaches the fifth initiation can enter Nirvãna. Whoever reaches the fifth initiation is born in the Causal. Whoever reaches the fifth initiation incarnates the Soul. Only the person who reaches the fifth initiation is Man with Soul, that is to say a True Man.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
30. The whole of your personality has been absorbed by your SOUL-BUDDHI-MANAS.
Christ Will, 1959
The founder of the College of Initiates is the ‘Maha-Guru’, who dwells in Eastern Tibet. We, the Masters of the White Lodge achieved the mastery over the Tattwas. We converted ourselves into Kings and Queens of Creation after we fused ourselves with our own Intimate (Spirit), also after we redeemed our animal soul. This is accomplished by assimilating the psychic extract of the ethereal body, the psychic extract of the astral body and the psychic extract of the mental body, within our own Spiritual Soul.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978) also in Elemental Magic
We have two souls which are mentioned by Goethe in his Faust. These are the Animal Soul and the Diamond Soul. The beautiful Sulamite (Diamond Soul) is betrothed with Solomon (the Intimate) when one achieves the High Initiation. This is how the Soul and the Spirit are fused and become ‘one’.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978)
I sheathed the Sword of Fire in its golden scabbard, and submerging myself even further into the sleeping waters of life, I carried out a series of extraordinary invocations and experiments: "Buddhic body, come to me!...''. Answering my call, the Beautiful Helen, Ginebra, the Queen of jinas, my adorable Spiritual Soul came to me. She came into me and I in her, and formed the famous Atman-Buddhi which is much referred to by the oriental Theosophy.
The Three Mountains, 1972
Quite rightly, it has always been said “that the Buddhi (Spiritual Soul) is like a vase made of delicate and transparent alabaster, inside which burns the flame of Prana (Atman).” Continuing in successive order those singular invocations made from the bottom of Chaos, I called then my Human Soul, saying: "Causal body, come to me!...'' I saw my Human Soul dressed gloriously in the causal vehicle (Superior theosophical Manas). How interesting that moment turned out to be, when my Human Soul entered happily into me!... At that instant the theosophical triad known by the sanskrit terms, Atman-BuddhiManas, became integrated in an extraordinarily lucid form. Unquestionably Atman, that is the Intimate, has two Souls. The first is the Spiritual Soul (Buddhi) which is feminine. The second is the Human Soul (superior Manas) which is masculine.
The Three Mountains, 1972 also in The Being Is the Being
Unquestionably in the Fifth Initiation of Fire I had incarnated my Human Soul (the superior Manas of Theosophy).
The Three Mountains, 1972
However now, oh, Gods! With this alchemical and kabbalist wedding I incarnated also my Spiritual Soul (the Buddhi). In fact, inside the Spiritual Soul always burns in an unalterable manner the Flame of Prajna (the Intimate).
The Three Mountains, 1972
Much later comes the best: the marriage, the integration of this Human Soul with the Monad. When this happens, the Master has completely self-realized.
The Fifth Gospel Gnostic Psychology of False Feelings Third Chamber – Mexico City – May 4. 1977 also in The Being Is the Being
The Causal Man has his animic and spiritual principles incarnated in himself. Therefore, the man number seven is the authentic man, the man who has received a soul, who possesses the Spirit, who has the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being, the man who can truly come to fuse with the divine.
The Fifth Gospel The Objective Reason of the Solar Man
How it was made. All fifty-two books in the library were searched for the soul under every name he gives it: the Human Soul, Tiphereth, Superior Manas and the Causal Man; Buddhi, the Spiritual and the Divine Soul, and the two souls of Atman; the Buddhata, the embryo of soul, and the Essence where the soul is named with it; and the phrases in which he says the soul is had, made, crystallized, incarnated or lost. Because soul alone stands in more than two thousand paragraphs, and Essence in seven hundred, the search counted a paragraph only where one of those names or phrases stands in it. That found 1,061 candidates in 49 books. Each was read by two readers working apart, who agreed on 94.6% of them; a third reader, who did not see what either had decided, settled the 58 they did not. Then, so that a reader who comes to this book alone finds the whole of the Essence here, the search was run again for the Essence where no name of the soul stands beside it, and 327 more paragraphs were read in the same way: the two readers agreed on 89.6%, and the third settled 34. Of the 1,388 paragraphs read, 622 were judged printable; they make 517 passages, and 478 are printed here.
What was left out, and why. Most of the paragraphs not printed name the soul in passing while teaching something else, or use the word as anyone would, for the depth of a feeling. Others belong to finished works and stay there: Atman and the Father to The Being Is the Being, the Christ in Tiphereth to The Intimate Christ, the Essence as the consciousness to be awakened to Awakening, the building of the bodies to Alchemy, the lost souls of the abyss and the dead to Return and Reincarnation. The inferior Manas, which is the mind, and the metallic soul of the alchemists, which is Mercury, are not this soul.
Kept whole, not padded. 39 printable passages were set aside when the sections were made, each because another passage in the work gives the same teaching more fully, with the fuller one named in the record. No practice was set aside. 217 passages run over more than one paragraph, where his sentence or his instruction crosses the break.
What was done to his words. Nothing was paraphrased. The only changes are to the scanning and the setting: words broken at the end of a line and closed up against the corpus; 43 places the scanner damaged, given in their plain reading (reincarnations for reincamations, Intimus for lntimus, and others like them), including two running heads of the Christmas Messages that the scanner set inside his sentences, and the editors’ mark at the head of a lecture; and, in one passage of Pistis Sophia, the scripture that followed his words cut away. Each change is recorded with its place in the book in the project notes.
152 passages also stand in a finished work, and each one is marked where it stands. An overlap is allowed wherever it is needed to get the teaching across, but it should always be visible to the reader.
