Master: ► How is pain sacrificed?

Master: The answer is a little vague, very vague, very vague. In reality, I am going to tell you a great truth: pain can only be sacrificed by self-exploring it and dissecting it. Let us take a concrete case: let us say that a man, suddenly, finds his wife talking very softly, over there, in a room, with another man. Naturally, this can provoke some jealousy in him, it is natural for this to provoke it. Now, if he finds the woman [speaking] too softly, with too much intimacy to a given individual, there can be an outburst of jealousy accompanied by great anger, right? Maybe even a fight with the other man due to jealousy. This produces terrific pain to the offended husband – clearly this can give rise to a divorce–, a horrifying moral pain.

What can one do to save oneself from this pain, how can one take advantage of it? How can one renounce to the pain that this has produced? There is a way to solve it, to sacrifice that pain. What is it? The evident self-reflection of the Being, the self-exploration of oneself.

When one has reached the conclusion that it is those “I’s” that have produced the pain in one, then one concentrates on the Divine Mother Kundalini and she disintegrates those “I’s”. Once they are disintegrated, the pain ends. When the pain ends, the Consciousness is freed. Then, by means of the sacrifice of pain, the Consciousness has been increased and strength has been acquired; by means of the sacrifice of pain.

In this case, it can be said with absolute certainty that this pain can also be sacrificed and one can say: “Well, it’s done, she has committed adultery. Am I sure of never having committed adultery? Of course not. If I am an adulterer –it is said–, then why do I condemn? I have no right to condemn anyone, because whoever feels clean of sin may throw the first stone.” So, who is the one causing me pain? The “I’s” of intolerance, self-importance, jealousy, self-love, etc.

Once we have reached the conclusion that those are the ones that are causing us pain, then we must work to disintegrate them, and the pain disappears, it is eliminated. Why? Because it has been sacrificed, and that brings an increase of Consciousness, because those energies, which were involved in the pain, are released. It not only brings the peace of the tranquil heart, but it also brings an increase of Consciousness, a growth of Consciousness. That is called sacrificing pain.

But people are capable of anything except sacrificing their pains, they love their pains very much; and it turns out that the greatest pains are those that give one the best opportunities for awakening, for the awakening of the Consciousness. But one has to learn to sacrifice pain.

In any case, the insulter leaves pain in the depths of the insulted or offended person. What would be interesting is that the offended person be able to sacrifice that pain; and he can sacrifice it through meditation.

One has to take into account all these factors, learn to sacrifice pain. People are capable of sacrificing everything except their pain. They love their own sufferings very much, they idolize them; therein lies the mistake.

Learning to sacrifice one’s own pain, that’s what is interesting in order to be able to awaken the Consciousness. Clearly, it is not an easy thing, the work is hard: going against oneself is very hard, it is not very sweet. But it is worth it for one to go against oneself for the results he will get: the awakening. So, are you starting to understand?

But when one begins to disintegrate the Ego, he begins to whiten. When one knows how to sacrifice one’s own sufferings, he begins to whiten. When one has completely disintegrated the Ego, he shines gloriously, and upon integrating with the Initiate, he transforms the latter into an archangel, because he himself becomes an archangel. And he will always keep his horns. But on the horns are the tridents, and the number of tridents indicates the degree of development attained in the objective reason of the Being.

Master: It could be said Paramarthasatya. But such heights are not reached except through successive awakenings of the Consciousness, and one cannot reach those successive awakenings of the Consciousness except by sacrificing pain, by learning to sacrifice one’s own sufferings. Because, in reality and in truth, every time one sacrifices a suffering, one’s Consciousness grows and one acquires more psychological strength.

That is already properly proven. Sacrificing pain: that is the most extraordinary key there is for processing the awakening of the Consciousness. These various awakenings, in turn, go on increasing or intensifying the development of objective reason, which belongs –as I have already said– to the profound inner mind.

Through this path one arrives at the end: increasing the Consciousness more and more, and as one increases the Consciousness, one “kills” karma, one “kills”. Let us give an example, if someone becomes conscious of the pain that a poorly done business deal caused him, he discovers that the “I” of selfishness was active. So he disintegrates it and “kills” karma; or discovers that the “I” of ambition was active, he “kills” karma upon disintegrating it. And if people took advantage of even the smallest pain in their lives to sacrifice it, at the time of death, they would disincarnate without karma, with a completely lucid, awakened Consciousness, and without karma.

So, there are the “I” of attachment and the “I” of fear; these “I’s” cause anguish. If meditation comes and pain is sacrificed, if one understands that money is transient, that material things are vain and illusory; if one becomes conscious of that truth, if that truth does not remain simply in the intellect, but remains in the Consciousness; if one reaches the understanding that he was attached to his wallet and money; if one reaches the understanding that he is afraid of finding himself without money before the problems of life, then he naturally sets out to put an end to these two “I’s”: that of fear and that of attachment.

One says: “I will sacrifice that pain, because this is vain and illusory”, and he dissects that pain, he reaches the understanding that it is vain and illusory, because a wallet, some money, all of that, are perishable things. Then one ends up disintegrating the “I” of attachment to money and the “I” of fear, and in this way, he sacrifices his pain and the pain disappears.

Upon reaching these heights, one comes to realize, in truth, who was the one who was causing the pain. It was not the thief who caused the pain, but the “I” of attachment to material things and the “I” of fear. And one confirms it after he sacrifices the pain, after he disintegrates the “I’s” of fear and of attachment; he comes to understand it because the pain disappears completely. So, it was not the thief who caused the pain. One carries the causes of pain within oneself; not outside oneself, but within. If one does not sacrifice pain, one will never be happy. And the causes of pain are not outside oneself, but within oneself. I have reached these reflections. [...]

Master: Of course, provoking formidable awakenings, sacrificing one’s own sufferings, and people are not willing to sacrifice this, they love them too much. But if one sacrifices them... Oh! The awakening! The awakenings come one after the other.
