5 passages · 1 practice

IThere are five centers in the machine

The five lower centres are named and counted: the intellectual, the emotional, the motor, the instinctive and the sexual, with two superior centres beyond them. People live in the lower parts of these centres, and the centres, though they can serve the Being, are not the Being.

The human machine has seven centers, five inferior and two superior, which people do not even suspect. We are going to study the five inferior centers: the first is the intellectual center, the second is the emotional, the third is that of movement, the fourth is the instinctive, and the fifth is the sexual.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Mechanical Man

We have been told that we are the microcosmos of the macrocosmos, but we actually live in the inferior parts of our five centers. We already know that we have five centers: intellectual, emotional, motor, instinctive and sexual.

The Fifth Gospel The Pendular Conduct of Humanity Third Chamber Mexico City July 13th, 1977

The mind has its center, the intellectual center, but it is not the Being. The center of the mind, the intellective one, is in the brain, that is obvious, but it is not the Being. The feeling, which corresponds to the emotional center or to the emotional brain, is in the region of the [solar] plexus and extends to the sympathetic [nervous] centers and the heart, but it is not the Being. The Being is the Being, and the reason for being of the Being is the Being himself.

The Fifth Gospel Pedagogy of Knowing How to Live Third Chamber Mexico City – 1974 also in The Being Is the Being, The Mind

A practice

Why should we let ourselves be carried away by the centers of the machine? Why do we allow the intellectual or emotional centers to control us? Why do we have to be slaves of this machinery? We must learn to control all the centers of the machine, we must become masters, lords.

The Fifth Gospel Pedagogy of Knowing How to Live Third Chamber Mexico City – 1974 also in The Mechanical Man

There are five centers in the machine, that is obvious: the intellectual, which is the first one; the emotional, which is the second one; the motor, which is the third one; the instinctive, which is the fourth one, and the sexual, the fifth. But the centers of the machine do not constitute the Being; they can put themselves at the Being’s service, but they are not the Being. Thus, neither the mind nor the feeling are the Being.

The Fifth Gospel Pedagogy of Knowing How to Live Third Chamber Mexico City – 1974 also in The Mechanical Man

IIEach one of the centers has a central, basic point

Each centre runs through the whole organism yet has its seat: the intellect in the head, the emotional centre in the heart, the motor in the upper spine, the instinctive in the lower spine, and then the sex. In one answer he sets the three brains and the five cylinders side by side as a single whole.

Each one of these Five Centers penetrates the entire organism; nonetheless, if one selfobserves profoundly, one becomes aware that each one of the centers has a central, basic point situated at a specific area of our organic machine.

The Solar Bodies, 1968 also in The Mechanical Man

But humanity is the most important organ of Nature. Why is it the most important? Because it has three brains: the intellectual, the emotional and the motor. The intellectual is located inside the physical brain, the emotional is in the heart, and the motor is in the upper part of the spine. This is what makes humanity the most important organ. It can assimilate certain types of energies and then transform them and retransmit them to the inner layers of the Earth.

The Fifth Gospel Lunar Psychism and Solar Psychism Second Chamber – Mexico City – 1976

So, in reality and in truth, there is still a residue of the abominable Kundartiguador Organ in the human being. With the disappearance of such an organ it could be clearly seen that the bad consequences of this organ remained in the five cylinders of the organic machine. These five cylinders are the following: the intellectual, located in the brain; the emotional, located in the heart; the motor, in the upper part of the spine; the instinctive, in the lower part of the spine; and the sexual. The bad consequences of the abominable Kundartiguador Organ remained in these five centers of the machine.

The Fifth Gospel Causes and Consequences of the Kundartiguador Organ also in The Kundabuffer, The Words He Uses

Master: The three brains and the five cylinders are a whole, in general; because the three brains are three cylinders plus two inferior cylinders, we have five in total. I can come up with the following list: First: intellectual center or intellectual brain, located in the head of the physical body. Second: emotional brain, located in the heart. Third: motor brain, located in the superior part of the spine. Fourth: instinctive brain, which is nothing more than an instinctive center –we can call it “brain” if we want to–, located in the lower part of the spine. And fifth: the sexual center.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City

But strictly speaking the intellectual, emotional and motor centers are called “brains”. As for the instinctive and sexual centers, normally, they are not called “brains”. However, all these five centers are the five cylinders of the machine.

Part Two — Each one of the centers of the machine in itself is autonomous

10 passages

IEvery center is divided into two parts

Each centre works on its own and yet is tied to the rest, and each is split into a positive and a negative half, the pendulum swinging in mind, heart and motor centre alike. The answer that closes the section subdivides every centre into three parts and turns to the wisdom of the instinctive centre and the hydrogen of the sexual.

Every center is divided into two parts: positive and negative; this division is particularly clear for the Intellectual Center and the Instinctive Center.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

The specific functions of each center indicate, point to certain dualisms in each center, as the dualism of the mind with its incessant battle of antithesis dividing thoughts; the dualism of emotions splitting them into pleasant and unpleasant emotions; the dualism of instinctual sensations splitting them into pleasure and pain; the dualism of sexuality splitting them into attraction and repulsion of sex, etc. Without a doubt, each one of the five centers is, at the same time, positive and negative.

The Solar Bodies, 1968 also in The Law of Polarities, The Law of the Pendulum

In the mind, it is perfectly defined by the battle of the antitheses, by conflicting opinions, etc. In the heart, by the antithetical emotions, by the states of anguish and happiness, of optimism and depression. In the motor-instinctive-sexual center it manifests in the habits, customs, movements: we frown, we are sullen when we are depressed; or we smile happily under the impulse of the motor center when we are very content, etc. We jump, we hop around full of joy due to good news, or our legs shake before an imminent danger; thesis and antithesis of the motor center, the Law of Pendulum in the motor center.

The Fifth Gospel The Pendular Conduct of Humanity Third Chamber Mexico City July 13th, 1977 also in The Law of the Pendulum

Question: Master, I would like to ask you again if each center is independent, if it is handled with a certain type of independent hydrogen, or if it is the same type of hydrogen or the same energy of the five centers.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City

Master: Each one of the centers of the machine in itself is autonomous, even though all of them among them are correlated in some way; that is obvious.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City also in The Mechanical Man

Unquestionably, the intellectual, emotional, motor, instinctive and sexual centers form an entire system by means of which we get in contact with the impressions that reach us through the senses.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City

There are people whose Consciousness is totally located in the brain; those people cannot understand the people whose Consciousness is located in the emotional center. There are people whose Consciousness is located in the emotional center; those people do not understand the people whose Consciousness is located in the intellectual brain. There are people whose Consciousness is located in the instinctive-motor-sexual brain; those people would never understand the emotional nor the intellectual, etc.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City

Master: Unquestionably, each one of the main centers of the machine is in turn subdivided into three very important parts. But there are many other subdivisions not mentioned by Master G.; that in the intellectual center there is something of the emotional center and of the motor center, we cannot deny that! That in the emotional center there is something of the intellectual and of the motor, we do not deny it! That in the motor center, for instance, there is something of the intellectual and of the emotional, it is true!

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City also in The Mechanical Man

Now, as for the instinctive center, I can tell you that the instinctive center knows more than what people suppose. If people did not hinder the activities of the instinctive center, they would live healthy, there would be no sick people on the face of the Earth. The instinct is very wise, the instinct is what keeps the organism working. A sick person could be cured if he obeyed totally the instinctive center.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City

And as for the sexual center, I can tell you that it is magnificent, from there, well, the famous Sexual Hydrogen Si-12 comes out, with which we can radically transform ourselves.

IIMemory is the formative principle of the Intellectual Center

The intellectual centre is the seat of yes and no and of memory. Knowledge laid down there must pass through its emotional part into the emotional centre and on to the Essence before it becomes conscious, and a book read in haste ruins the centre.

The entire work of the Intellectual Center is divided into two parts: Affirmation and Negation, Yes and No, Thesis and Antithesis.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in The Law of the Pendulum, The Mind

Memory is the formative principle of the Intellectual Center. When a person aspires to something more, when someone looks through the limitations of the subconscious and sees that which he has deposited in the memory and analyzes and meditates on the last occurrence or teachings of an esoteric book, then those values move to the emotional phase of the same Intellectual Center. When one wants to know the deep meaning of said teachings and the person surrenders in full to meditation, obviously such teachings move on to the Emotional Center properly said and they then come to be felt in the depth of the soul.

The Revolution of the Dialectic also in Memory, The Science of Meditation

I repeat: first, one has to study; then, deposit all the information in the learning center – memory–; then try to capture, to apprehend the intimate sense of that which we have deposited in the memory. When we do this, we feel, within that knowledge, something sentimental or touching or emotional, for us to be clearer, because it then passes onto the emotional part of the intellectual center; so, it leaves the memory and passes to the emotional part of the intellectual center. But if we insist on trying to apprehend or capture the essence of the knowledge, it will become emotions, vivid emotions, it will pass onto the emotional center, and new meditations will make it become conscious. This will happen when finally, the emotional knowledge immerses into the Essence, into the Consciousness. This is the process that the knowledge must undergo so that it becomes conscious.

Master: The truth is something that cannot be defined, because if it is defined, it is disfigured. But we can say that the steps for knowledge to become conscious are described in the following way: first step, one studies so that the knowledge is deposited in the memory. Second step, one meditates with the intention of apprehending the deep meaning of the knowledge deposited in the memory. When that happens, the knowledge – through meditation– passes to the emotional part of the intellectual center, and this has to be explained.

The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Memory, The Essence, The Human Soul, The Science of Meditation

The intellectual center has three parts: the superior intellectual part, the emotional part and the motor part. We would say that the knowledge passes to the emotional part of the intellectual center; then we begin to feel a certain flavor of what we have deposited in our memory. In a more advanced stage of meditation, that knowledge definitely leaves the intellectual center to be deposited, strictly, within the emotional center and, subsequently, through the technique of meditation, we finally pass the knowledge from the emotional center to the Essence. This knowledge remains deposited in the Essence, which is, the truth or the truths that we can bring to the Essence. To speak more clearly, they have a rather emotional flavor, but I do not speak of inferior emotions, but emotions of a superior type.

When it is read like this, “at five hundred kilometers per hour” from cover to cover, and saying “I’ve already read it”, “I already know it”, the intellectual center gets totally ruined. That is not how you study. One should not move further, move on to another paragraph, if one has not become conscious of the preceding paragraph; we need to know what it is that we are going to bring to the intellectual center.

So, my dear friends, do not destroy the intellectual center; do not destroy the emotional center either. IIIThe emotional center must valorize the psychological work

Pleasant and unpleasant emotions divide the emotional centre, and negative impressions taken in from others turn it negative. To a disciple's question he answers that inferior emotion is mastered by cultivating the higher emotion of the intellect and by eliminating the aggregates of the inferior emotional centre.

Pleasant and unpleasant emotions exist in the Emotional Center: happiness, sympathy, affection, self-confidence, etc. are positive.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

When one opens the doors to negative impressions, he not only alters the order of the emotional center which is in the heart but he also makes it negative. One opens his doors, for example, to a negative emotion that a person brings full of anger because someone hurt him. Then, we end up aligning ourselves with that person, against the other who hurt him and also full of anger, without playing any role in the matter.

The Revolution of the Dialectic also in Anger, The Transformation of Impressions

A practice

Would that be correct? Would it be correct for us to welcome a person who comes, for example, full of negative impressions –that emanate from the negative emotional center–, for us to open the doors to all the negative impressions of that person? It seems that we do not know how to select impressions. And this is very serious! We must learn to open and close the doors of our psyche to impressions: open the doors to noble, clean impressions; close them to negative and absurd impressions. That is to say, negative impressions cause harm, they develop the negative emotional center in us, they harm us. Why should we open the doors to negative impressions?

The Fifth Gospel The Serious Damages of Mental Representations Third Chamber – Mexico City – June 1977 also in The Transformation of Impressions

Disciple: Master, our defects manifest due to negative emotions. Could you tell us some way to balance that emotional center, with relation to the intellectual and the motor centers?

The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977

Thus, negative emotions turn one evil. How to control negative emotions? There is no other option: to cultivate the superior emotions of the intellectual center. The intellectual center has the superior emotion, the superior motor part and the intelligence of intelligence. Well, let us cultivate the superior emotion of the intellectual center: harmonic music, beautiful music, happy music, painting, art, beauty, superior studies, ineffable mysticism, esotericism, Gnosis, and like that, little by little, we control inferior emotions.

The Fifth Gospel The Need to Crystallize the Soul Second Chamber – Mexico City – January 1977

But that is not all. We need to eliminate, finally, the psychic aggregates of the inferior emotional center. We have to discover them: how they work, how they manifest themselves, how, in front of false news, we get ourselves filled with emotions, we make a fuss, we go to failure; one has to be eliminating all those aggregates.

Not everything is intellect; we need to go through great emotional crises; not everything is intellect. The emotional center must valorize the psychological work that leads us to the in-depth transformation. Emotion must work more than intellect, emotion must become active in us. IVThe centre of movement has many activities

Habits, customs, sport and skilled work belong to the motor centre, which works far faster than the mind and needs no consciousness to drive a car. To know this centre one studies one's habits, though the work is not begun here.

The struggle between movement and rest exists in the Movement or Motor Center.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

A practice

We need to discover ourselves and to profoundly comprehend all our habits we should not allow our life to continue to unfold mechanically. It seems incredible that we, living within the forms of our habits do not know these forms, which condition our lives. We need to study our habits. We need to comprehend them. These belong to the activities of the centre of movement. It is necessary that we self-observe the way we live, act, dress, walk etc. The centre of movement has many activities. Sport also belongs to the centre of movement. When the mind interferes with this centre it obstructs and causes damage, because it is very slow and the centre of movement is very fast. All typists work with the centre of movement and, as is natural may make mistakes at the keyboard if the mind begins to intervene. A man driving a car could have an accident if the mind intervenes. THE EMOTIONAL CENTRE The human being stupidly wastes the sexual energy with the abuse of violent emotions; cinema, television, football games etc. We should learn to dominate our emotions. It is necessary to save our sexual energies.

VThe wisdom of this center is really astonishing

The instinctive centre sits in the lower spine, lives in pleasant and unpleasant sensation, and turns food into the substances of life. Alertness, once disciplined long enough, becomes one of its automatic functions.

4. The instinctive centre located in the lower part of the spinal column.

The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)

The same struggle between pleasant and unpleasant exists in the Instinctive Center; pleasant sensations, unpleasant sensations and all of those sensations are related with the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Sensations

When we eat a food necessary for our existence, the latter is transformed, it is clear, from one phase to another, into all of those elements which are so indispensable for our existence. Who carries out those processes of the transformation of substances within us? Obviously, the Instinctive Center. The wisdom of this center is really astonishing. Digestion, in itself, is transformation. The food in the stomach, in other words, in the inferior part of this three story factory of the human organism, suffers transformation… If something were to enter without going through the stomach, the organism would neither be able to assimilate its vitaminic principles nor its proteins, that would simply be an indigestio n. As we reflect upon this subject, we get to comprehend the necessity of undergoing a transformation.

I made it instinctive, it became a function of my instinctive center. VIInfinite possibilities exist within the Sexual Center

Attraction and repulsion, chastity and lust contend in the sexual centre, which alone can reckon in an instant the fitness of a man and a woman for each other. Asked about the centres during the work in the Ninth Sphere, he says they work by themselves when the mind holds a dignified attitude.

In the Sexual Center, attraction and repulsion, chastity and lust, exist in eternal conflict. The Intellectual Animal sacrifices his pleasures if necessary, but he is incapable of sacrificing his own sufferings.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Entropy and Sacrifice, Suffering

Indeed, the search for our sexual complement occurs in each function of our human organism. The sense of attraction, indifference and repulsion between a man and a woman is the outcome of a highly complicated calculation of the existing factors of reciprocity of each of its functions and of the average or total function of all of those factors together. Fortunately, such a complex and difficult calculation can never be performed by the Intellectual Center, but only by the Sexual Center. This center can attain a correct result in a second or even less.

IDifferences in velocity exist among the five centers of the machine

The centres are ranked by speed. The intellect is the slowest, the motor and instinctive centres thirty thousand times faster, the emotional faster again, and the sexual centre the fastest and most important of all, its impulses passing at the molecular level.

It is necessary to know that each of the five cylinders of the machine possesses its own characteristics that we should never confuse.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in The Mechanical Man, The Words He Uses

Differences in velocity exist among the five centers of the machine.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

People lavishly praise thinking, but in reality of truth, the Intellectual Center is the slowest. Afterwards, operating much faster, follow the Instinctive and Movement or Motor Centers, which have more or less the same velocity. The fastest is the Sexual Center, and is followed in order of speed, by the Emotional Center.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

The Motor and Instinctive Centers are thirty thousand times faster than the Intellectual Center. The Emotional Center, when it works at the velocity that is its own, is thirty thousand times faster than the Motor and Instinctive Centers.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

All of the Five Cylinders of the human machine are fundamental for life, but, without a doubt, the Sexual Center, the Fifth Center, is indeed, the most important and the fastest of all. The very roots of our existence are found within the latter.

IIThe other centers of the machine rob energy from the sex

Sexual abuse is defined as the theft of the sexual energy by the other centres, and of theirs by the sex. Each kind of theft has its type, from the sports fanatic to the man of violent instinct, and the sexual centre forced onto heavier hydrogens cannot form the superior bodies; only the dissolution of the I returns each centre to its own hydrogen.

There exists sexual abuse in the action of the sex through the other centers of the human machine or the action of the other centers through the sexual center. Each center of the machine should function with its own energy, but unfortunately the other centers of the machine rob energy from the sex.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Mechanical Man

When the intellectual, emotional, movement and instinctive centers rob the sexual energy, there then exists sexual abuse. The gravest of all this is that the sexual center has to at the same time rob energy from the other centers in order to be able to function; all of this is sexual abuse.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66

Everywhere there is an abundance of diabolic intellect, violent emotions, passionate movements, passionate races of cars, horses, bicycles, Olympic Games, etc, etc, or also bestial instincts in action, it is clear that there then exists sexual abuse. The worst of all this abuse is that the sexual center is then forced to work with heavier hydrogens which correspond to other centers. When the sexual center is forced to work with hydrogens like 48, 24, etc., etc., it is impossible to fabricate the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in Anger

Those people who enjoy movies, novels, and pornographic pictures use the sexual energy in the thinking center and it is clear that end up with the tendency to only satisfy themselves with sexual fantasy and sooner or later they acquire a type of psychosexual impotence, in which when they go to truly carry out the sexual act, they fail lamentably.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in Imagination, Inspiration, Intuition

When the emotional center steals the sexual energy, then comes the stupid sentimentalisms, jealousies, cruelty, etc., etc.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66

When the movement center works with the Hydrogen Si 12 stolen from the sexual center, then the abusers of the movement center appear, the soccer players, the tightrope walkers from the circus, the bicyclists of the big races, etc. When the instinctive center steals sexual energy, there is then an abundance of instinctive, passionate, violent, acts.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in Anger

The pluralised ‘I’ foolishly wastes the essence which we have within to fabricate soul. When we dissolve the pluralised ‘I’ the waster comes to an end and then the essence accumulates within ourselves, converting itself into a permanent center of gravity. When we establish a permanent center of gravity within ourselves, the sexual center comes to then work with its own energy, with its own hydrogen, the Hydrogen Si 12.

Christmas Messages, 1952–66 also in The Human Soul

Gnostic esotericism teaches that when the sexual center works with its own energy, with its own hydrogen, sexual abuse ends because each center ends up working with the energy that corresponds to it, with the hydrogen that it corresponds to and not with the Hydrogen Si 12 robbed from the sexual center. It is necessary to dissolve the ‘I’ if we want to finish with sexual abuse. Many Initiates partly dissolved the ‘I’ in the past and thanks to this fabricated the Superior Existential Bodies of the Supreme Christmas Message 1965-1966: “The Science of Music”

Christmas Messages, 1952–66

A practice

It is urgent to establish a complete balance of the five centers of the machine and this is only possible by dissolving the ‘I’. Chapter IX: The ‘I’ and the Being In the matter of psychology we should make an exact differentiation between the ‘I’ and the Being. The ‘I’ is not the Being, and the Being is not the ‘I’. Everybody says, my Being, they think about their Being, but they do not know what their Being is and they confuse it with the ‘I’.

IIISending impressions to the wrong centers

A kindness meant for the emotional centre lands in the sexual one, a concept meant for the intellect is caught by the inferior emotional centre, and quarrels follow. The personality, a poor secretary, routes impressions to the wrong centres, and the impressions that enter by the senses belong to all five cylinders.

The incorrect function of the five psycho-physiologic centers of the human machine is due to the pernicious activities of the pluralized “I”; these are the evil consequences of the Abominable Kundartiguador Organ.

The Solar Bodies, 1968 also in The Mechanical Man

I will mention an example so that I will be better understood. Let us suppose that a woman attends to a gentleman with much consideration and respect; it is clear that the impressions which the gentleman is receiving in his mind are received by the personality and the latter sends the m to wrong centers. Normally, it sends them to the sexual center and this gentleman gets to firmly believe that the lady is in love with him, and as is logical, it does not take long before he rushes to make insinuations of an amorous type to her. Indubitably, if that lady has never had that type of caring for the gentleman, with much reason, she cannot, but feel surprised. That is the result of a terrible transformation of impressions. Here we see how bad a secretary the personality is. Unquestionably, the life of a man depends on this secretary who seeks transformation in its reference books without comprehending in the least, what the event means, and consequently transmits, without preoccupations for what could happen, but feeling only that it is fulfilling its duty.

The Revolution of the Dialectic also in Personality, The Transformation of Impressions

Why are there so many confusions in the world? You see that the humanoids do not understand each other. I will give you a specific case. A lady, suddenly, for example, decides to help a gentleman because she likes him, because she finds him very nice, etc. She can do that disinterestedly; this lady does not have any thought of lust, she is not in love with the gentleman; he only seems like a good person and she wants to help him in his different needs, etc. But what happens? The gentleman has Ego and the Ego controls the five cylinders of his machine. As the Ego controls those five cylinders of his machine, then he interprets those kind actions of the lady as he pleases. Instead of going to the emotional center, it passes to another cylinder: to the instinctive-sexual center, and then lust arises in that gentleman.

And the example I give in this regard can be extended to many other matters. We say one word and another misinterprets it. Why did he misinterpret it? Because he does not interpret it with the corresponding center, he interprets it with a center that does not correspond to it. We emit an intellectual concept, for example, and it may be that the emotional center –not the superior, but the inferior– receives that intellectual concept and misinterprets it; he thinks that his self-love is being hurt, that the individual with that concept has cast an irony on him, therefore, he reacts to it. Overall, we do not understand each other. Why? Because of the Ego, and this is a true “Tower of Babel”. And we, the human beings on the face of the Earth, cannot understand each other as long as the Ego exists. There will be wars and rumors of war, there will be strikes, there will be violence, hatred, etc., as long as we do not dissolve the Ego. The Ego has made us all horrible, we do not enjoy true beauty; due to that, due to having Ego, we are ugly, frightfully ugly.

The Fifth Gospel The Objective Knowledge of the Essence Lecture given to Gnostic students – 1976 also in Anger

Like I said, we have a bad secretary; this one is responsible for sending messages, sending representations, sending impressions to the wrong centers. It sends, for example, an impression to the instinctive center when it should not go to the instinctive, but to the sexual; or it sends an impression that is for the intellectual center to the emotional center; or it sends an impression that is for the emotional center to the motor-instinctive-sexual center.

The Fifth Gospel The Seven Minds and the Seven Truths Third Chamber – Mexico City – July 13, 1977

Up there, in the macrocosm, the seven planetary spheres work in perfect harmony, everything works correctly. Unfortunately, here below, in the microcosm-man, everything goes wrong: the seven minds work more or less abnormally due to the Ego. Messages that are, for example, for the intellectual center reach the sexual center; messages that are for the emotional center reach the motor center. Conclusion: everyone lives incorrectly. That which is for the intellect reaches the sex, that which is for the sex reaches the intellect, that which is for the emotional center reaches the instinctive center. In these conditions, everything is wrong; the seven minds work in the wrong way due to the Ego, due to the “I”, due to the Myself.

When one digests the old impressions that are deposited in the five cylinders of the machine in the form of habits, inferior emotions, negative thoughts, depraved instincts, sexual abuse, etc., then he disintegrates those inhuman elements, he turns them into dust.

The Fifth Gospel Intelligent Assimilation of Impressions also in The Transformation of Impressions

Unquestionably, this matter of the impressions deserves to be analyzed in a clear and precise way. The personality that we have all acquired, receives the impressions of life, but does not transform them because practically, it is something dead. If the impressions fell directly into the Essence, it is obvious that they would be transformed, because, in fact, it would deposit them exactly in the corresponding centers of the human machine.

The Fifth Gospel Psychological Protection Against Impressions Lecture given to the brothers of Colombia – Mexico City – 1974

Personality, that is the term applied to everything we acquire, it is clear that it translates impressions from all sides of life in a limited and practically stereotyped way, according to its quality and associations. In this regard, in the work, the personality is sometimes compared to a terrible secretary who is in the front room, who deals with everything according to her own ideas, concepts, preconceptions, opinions and prejudices. It has many dictionaries, encyclopedias of all kinds and reference books, and is in communication with the three centers –that is, the mental, emotional and physical centers– according to its limited ideas. As a sequence or corollary, it turns out that it almost always gets into communication –and that’s the unfortunate thing– with the wrong centers.

The Fifth Gospel Psychological Protection Against Impressions Lecture given to the brothers of Colombia – Mexico City – 1974

Question: Venerable Master, we would like to ask you in what way do the impressions penetrate the cylinders of the human machine, and in what way do the poorly transformed impressions hinder or damage the cylinders of the human machine.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City

Master: Well the impressions of any kind penetrate the organism through the senses of the machine. Obviously, there are impressions that relate directly to the emotional center. I want to refer, in an emphatic way, for instance, to the impressions related to negative emotions. There are impressions that are related to the intellectual center. I want to refer, in a clear way, to the things or impressions that have to do precisely with the intellect, with the mind. There are impressions that are directly related to sex, the impressions of lust, etc. There are merely motor impressions that impel us to action.

The Fifth Gospel The New Generations Facing Gnosis Message directed to the Gnostic youth – Mexico City also in The Transformation of Impressions

I am not saying that superior emotions do not exist, it is clear that they do exist! But unfortunately, the poor intellectual animal, mistakenly called man, has not developed the superior emotional center. Only the inferior emotional center works in him.

Thus, this matter of the five cylinders of the machine and the impressions form a single whole. Many of the impressions that enter through the windows of the senses go to the intellectual center, others go to the emotional center, others to the motor, others to the instinctive and others to the sexual.

IVWe must learn to manage our centers

The lower and higher parts of each centre have their proper uses, and to spend the best of mind and will on a trivial job wastes energy. A mind excited by sexual, instinctive or motor energy works badly, the three centres must be united to listen at all, and energy saved in each becomes the reserve for a second body.

A practice

Consultation is necessary, but the important thing is to know how to listen. In order to know how to listen one has to have the emotional, motor and intellectual centers in supreme attention.

The Revolution of the Dialectic

A practice

If you want to know how to listen, you must be whole, integral, before the speaker. The three centers –intellectual, emotional and motor– must be integrated, united. But if these three centers are dissociated: the intellectual on one side, the emotional on the other and the motor on the other, then the word is simply not being listened to.

The Fifth Gospel The Metaphysical Value of Knowing How to Listen

We must learn to manage our centers if we want to live consciously. A great wise man said that we should also use the inferior parts of the five centers of the organic machine.

The Fifth Gospel Psychological Foundations of the False Personality Third Chamber – Mexico City also in The Mechanical Man

To many it may seem strange how a wise man advises us –and I am now categorically referring to Ouspensky– to also use the inferior parts of the different centers of the organic machine, but that is the way it is. These put us in relation with the practical life, with the concrete facts of existence. By knowing how to manage them, we avoid the unnecessary waste of energy.

The Fifth Gospel Psychological Foundations of the False Personality Third Chamber – Mexico City also in The Mechanical Man

It would be absurd to use the inferior parts of the different centers of the machine when we should use the superior parts of the different centers of the machine. Or vice versa, it would be absurd to use the superior centers when the inferior ones should be used; or in other words, to use the superior part of the five centers of the machine when the inferior part should be used.

The Fifth Gospel Psychological Foundations of the False Personality Third Chamber – Mexico City also in The Mechanical Man

Let us give a concrete example: let us assume that someone is busy, at a given moment, in a trivial job without any importance; and in that moment he is terribly concentrated on that silly job and he has put the best of his mind and of his will to do that stupidity. That is a useless waste of energy. To do something silly it would be sufficient to use the inferior part of the centers of the organic machine, this is obvious, and like this, one would avoid the useless waste of energy.

Whoever wants to learn to eliminate all the harmful factors of the false personality must manage the five centers of the organic machine and know how to manage them. It is also necessary to know how to use the energies that flow within the organism.

The Fifth Gospel Psychological Foundations of the False Personality Third Chamber – Mexico City also in Personality, The Mechanical Man

For example, one bad usage of the energies is the excited thought. An excited mind is malfunctioning. Obviously, if the intellectual center and the emotional center work in a coordinated and marvelous way, they become productive, they carry out splendid works, they do well. But, what if the mind is excited by the sexual energy or by the energy of the instinctive center, or by the energy of the motor center? In this case the mind is excited, it is working badly. What should be done? To delve into the mental center, to put order inside the mind, to take it out of the state of excitability and to think with complete serenity and logic. I am not referring to formal logic, but to the Tertium Organum, to superior logic.

VSubduing that pair of elephants

Worry is traced to identification: a disturbed emotional centre sets the intellect and the motor centre racing. The technique given subdues the motor centre by relaxing the body and the intellect by remembering the Being, and through these two the emotional centre falls still.

Does it take some courage? It is true. But, what good is a problem? If we analyze well the entire process of the emergence of problems, we will see the following: the causa causarum of this or that problem exists in identification. When one identifies with this or that, with this or that event, with this or that circumstance or occurrence, then comes the problem. And what is curious, is that battle of antitheses of the problem. Obviously, the result is worry. If we analyze worry in itself, we will see that it is eminently destructive: the altered emotional center puts the intellectual center to work in a disordered way, and it also excites in an unharmonious way the activities of the motor center.

The Fifth Gospel Clarifications About the Psychological Work also in Identification

And in the mind, there is no doubt that there is a frightful battle of antitheses. It could be said that worry, caused by a problem, is a true chaos within ourselves: it has no order, it has no defined direction. The three centers are active during worrying –the emotional, the intellectual, and the motor– and this is extremely serious. Indisputably, the psychic and physiological debilitation caused by worrying tends to be frightful.

The Fifth Gospel Clarifications About the Psychological Work

A practice

It is interesting to learn how to eliminate worries. When one is successful in subduing that pair of “elephants” that we have in our organism, which are the intellectual center and the motor center, obviously, the battle is won, because this pair of elephants can subdue the emotional center, in which case, worry ceases.

The Fifth Gospel Clarifications About the Psychological Work

I said that by subduing that pair of elephants – which are the intellectual and motor centers– we can, through them, control the emotional center. Of course, a technique is needed –I repeat–, and we are going to give it with the utmost pleasure.

To normalize the motor center, it is advisable to completely relax the body. Start by relaxing the nerves of the brain, the muscles of the face, the corners of the mouth, the neck, the arms, the hands, the trunk, the stomach, the legs, the feet; and breathe deeply and profoundly. The recommended asana or the recommended posture for this relaxation is lying down on one’s bed or to sit in a comfortable armchair. Thus, relaxed and breathing in a rhythmic and deep way, the motor center is under control.

Once this pair of elephants –which are the motor center and the intellectual center– is subdued, then, through them, we can subdue the emotional center. The latter ceases its disordered movements, that is, the emotions become calm, they are put in abeyance and the worry passes.

The I governs the five lower centres and cannot touch the two higher, so whoever would dissolve it studies its work in each lower centre and learns which centre reacts badly to a given person. The study begins with the intellectual and emotional centres, with a change in the way of thinking, never with the motor or the sexual.

The “I” exerts control over the five inferior centers of the human machine. These five centers are: intellect, movement, emotion, instinct and sex. The two centers of the human machine that correspond to the Christ Consciousness are known in occultism as the Christ Mind and the Christ Astral. These two superior centers cannot be controlled by the “I”. Unfortunately, the superior mind and

We can be assured that the past conditions our present life. We can affirm that Satan is time. We can say without fear of making a mistake, that time cannot free us from this valley of tears, because time is Satanic. We have to learn how to live from moment to moment. Life is an eternal now, an eternal present. Satan was the creator of time. Those who think to liberate themselves in a distant future, within a few million years, with the passing of time and the ages, are sure candidates for the abyss and the second death because time is of Satan. Time liberates no one. Satan enslaves. Satan does not liberate. We need to liberate ourselves right now. We need to live from instant to instant. Every human being has seven basic, fundamental centers. Let us see: superior emotion does not yet have these two precious Christic vehicles at their disposal. When the superior mind is clothed with the Christ Mind and when the superior emotion is invested with the Christ Astral, really we are elevated to the state of the true human being. Everyone who wishes to dissolve the “I” should study it’s functions in the five inferior centers. We should not condemn the defects; neither should we justify them. The important thing is to comprehend them. It is urgent to comprehend the actions and reactions of the human machine. Each one of these five inferior centers has a set of very complicated actions and reactions. The “I” works with each of these five inferior centers, and comprehending deeply the whole mechanism of each of these centers, we are on the way to dissolving the “I”. In everyday life two people react differently to the same event. What is agreeable for one person can be disagreeable for another. Many times the difference is that one person can judge and see with the mind, and the other’s emotions are touched. We should learn to differentiate between mind and emotion. The mind is one thing and emotion, another. In the mind there is a whole set of actions and reactions that must be comprehended. In the feelings there are attachments that should be crucified, emotions that should be carefully studied and in general a whole mechanism of actions and reactions that are easily confused with the activities of the mind.

Those results are atomic substances from the men with whom she has had sexual intercourse. When a man has sexual relations with a woman who has been with another man or other men, he then absorbs atomic essences of the other men and poisons himself with them. This is a very grave problem for the brothers who are dissolving the “I”, because then, not only do they have to fight against their own errors and defects, but also, in addition against the errors and defects of those other men with whom the woman had sexual contact.

But if you do not change your way of thinking, what is the use of all that which is given here? You are told that it is necessary to dissolve the Ego. The analysis of psychological or parapsychological structures becomes necessary. What is the structure of any aggregate, be it anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, laziness or gluttony? We have to observe it. How does it behave in the intellectual center? What is its reasoning? How does it act in the heart center, that is, in the emotional center? What would be its feelings and emotions? How is it characterized in the motor-instinctive-sexual center?

The Fifth Gospel Methodology for Mental Unification Public Lecture – July 1977 also in Anger, Envy, Greed

When we analyze any “I” of lust, we come to clearly see for ourselves that it processes in each one of the three brains in a different way: in the purely emotional brain it would express itself as love; in the purely motor-instinctive-sexual brain, through eroticism; in the exclusively intellectual brain, as plans, projects related to love or to the being one loves or believes to love; yet, there you have it: they are all but phenomena of the same “I”, which is called lust.

But see how different it manifests in the intellectual brain, what other form it assumes in the heart, and finally what its modus operandi is in the motor-instinctive-sexual center. I repeat: in the motor-instinctive-sexual center, like animal passion; in the heart lust assumes another form, we could call it love; and in the intellect it assumes another form: as projects related to that love, as memories of that love. And every “I” has its three brains: the intellectual, the emotional and the motor-instinctive-sexual. Each “I” is a person with its three brains; that is obvious.

Any defect is personified by some psychological “I”. There are [three forms of behavior]. See that I summarize the motor, instinctive and sexual centers as if they were one, because they are three inferior centers that coordinate with each other to form a kind of personality in one. I see that in each person there are three very marked personalities: the intellectual, the emotional and the instinctive-motor-sexual one. They are three personalities that do not understand each other, that have never understood each other. But see how fine the crime is: lust can perfectly disguise itself in the heart as love, write poems, etc., but it is lust in disguise.

If one is careful and observes those three centers of the machine, he can clearly see that it is an “I”. And by discovering that it is an “I”, having known its “schemes” in the three centers –that is, in the intellectual, in the heart and sex–, then one proceeds to the third phase. What is the third phase? The execution! It is the final part of the work, right? Execution!

It is necessary to study it, to know its “schemes”, how it behaves in the three centers: in the intellectual, in the emotional and, speaking in synthesis, in the instinctive-motor-sexual; how it works in each of these three centers. According to its behavior, one gets to know it.

ITo manage the three brains with perfect balance

One whole lecture follows in his order: the seat and the values of each brain, the illnesses that come when one is worn out, death by thirds, and the long-lived monks who work each brain in turn. It closes on the one-, two- and three-brained creatures.

We cannot deny that there are three brains; first, the intellectual brain; second, the emotional brain and third, the motor brain. There are energetic values in the intellectual brain, the values that nature has placed in the intellectual brain – for example, criminals possess mediocre intellectual values–, and when we have magnificent development, there is no doubt that great values are expressed through us then, through our own intellectual brain, because –I repeat–, the values are of nature.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

The emotional brain is also very important. The emotional brain is located in the heart and in specific nervous centers of the great sympathetic system, as well as in the solar plexus. The emotional values turn out to be extremely important for life. If there were no emotional values, we would not get excited about an idea, we would not cheer up on a sports field, and life would develop without the various factors that it entails, with a frightening indifference.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

The motor brain, located in the upper part of the spine is also very interesting for us. The values that are located in that brain allow us to walk, move, go back and forth in different directions: to play baseball, basketball, do gymnastics, etc. If we did not have values in the motor brain, we would practically not be interested in sports nor walks nor excursions nor anything related to movement.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

So, indeed, the three brains are very important. Now, when we try to learn sports by abusing them, obviously, the values of the motor brain get worn out in a definitive way. And if in the gym, we consider that the emotional brain and the motor brain is something that we have to be interacting with all the time –by hitting, ges-ticulating, shouting, arguing, etc.– there comes a natural moment when the values of the motor brain are worn out; and, in these conditions, this brain has to die.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

Many people who are in the clinics of “mental rest”, that is, in the asylums, are due to the fact that they wore out the values of the intellectual brain. Many people who are in a state of “coma”, we would say, have worn out their vital values –the fatal result of living in the wrong way–.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

There are others who have worn out the vital values of their emotional brain. Consequently, they suffer from palpitations and nervous disorders, that is, they tend to suffer from the heart, so, without any doubt, a myocardial attack comes to them sooner or later. A heart attack appears often among the sports fans and artists, among the emotional and the sentimental ones who have worn out the values of the emotional brain.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

And what will we say about the motor brain? This one, we have already said, allows us to play a little, allows us to play football, baseball, etc., but if we abuse the motor brain, sooner or later, such brain will die, and then, it is obvious that we will have diseases such as cerebral embolism, paralysis, etc.

The Fifth Gospel The Balance of the Energetic Centers Conference given to Gnostic students

We always die by thirds. For example, some time ago, a friend of ours got sick, he had abused the intellectual brain too much. This man seldom got excited and began to get sick one day. He had exclusively dedicated himself to the intellect, and one day he got an embolism. We observed the case, we investigated it and when we visited him, it happened that his intellectual brain could not coordinate ideas. Days later, his motor brain died, then, it is obvious that he could not move anymore. Finally, the emotional brain died, he had a heart seizure. Therefore, one always dies by thirds and this is already proven. All this is serious, and in some way, it is closely related either to the intellectual brain, or to the emotional brain, or to the motor brain.

There are some scientific experiments in this regard, such as those carried out by a Brazilian doctor. What was determined, especially about the motor brain, is extraordinary. A Buddhist religious community exist in central Asia. That community is very interesting: the members of that community have learned to manage the three brains with perfect discipline, they never abuse those three brains. Unexpectedly, they are skiing, running together, while others are dedicated to cultivating their body, activating the motor brain. In some other moment, we see them dedicated to art, or to music, or to sculpture, to dance, etc. As they keep the three brains in balance, this allows those Buddhist monks to live up to ages of 300 or 400 years. They do not exclusively use only one brain –let us remember that we are tri-cerebrated–. So, they are smart enough to manage alternatively the three brains of the organic machine.

Unquestionably, what is harming us is the abuse or excessive use of the intellectual brain; we abuse the intellect too much, we waste the vital values of the intellect. So, frankly, what could we compare ourselves to: someone who only lives within the intellectual cerebration, someone who does not do sports, someone who never listens to pleasant music, who does not get excited about anything in life? I think we could compare them to one of those strange creatures, to those that live at this time in the depths of the oceans.

But there are different kinds of creatures in the universe. There are one-dimensional creatures, of only one dimension. For example, an insect that only lasts a few hours of summer has only one brain: the instinctive one. There are two-dimensional creatures, that is, they possess two brains: the instinctive and the emotional. Such creatures are the superior animals: the horse, the elephant, the dog, the cat, etc. And, there are also creatures that have three brains: the instinctive, the emotional and the intellectual. Obviously, such species acquire superior forms. Unquestionably, I refer to the intellectual animal, mistakenly called man.

IIOne lives by thirds and one dies by thirds

The Lords of Karma deposit a capital of vital values in each brain, figured as sheaves of wheat. Spending the intellectual capital leads to madness, the motor to paralysis and the emotional to heart disease, while saving it prolongs life.

Sports that are harmonious and balanced are useful for the motor brain, but abuse of sports signifies excessive waste of motor energies and the result is often disastrous.

Fundamental Education, 1970

It is not absurd to affirm that there are people who are dead in the motor center. Such dead persons are known as hemiplegics, paraplegics, progressive paralytics, etc.

Fundamental Education, 1970

The sense of aesthetics, mysticism, ecstasy, superior music, is necessary in order to cultivate the emotional center, but the abuse of this brain produces a useless waste and uses up the emotional energies. The emotional brain is abused by the existentialists of the “new wave”, the rock music fans, the sensual pseudo-artists of modern art, and the morbid, passionate persons of sensuality, etc., etc.

Fundamental Education, 1970

Even though it seems incredible, in each person death truly operates in thirds. It has been verified till satiation that every illness has its cause in one of the three brains.

Fundamental Education, 1970

The great law has wisely deposited in each of the three brains of the intellectual animal a set capital of vital values. To save this capital means, in fact, to prolong life; to waste this capital causes death.

Fundamental Education, 1970

Over the centuries, through all the ages, the mistaken use of the three brains shortened the lifespan little by little.

Fundamental Education, 1970

A Hierarch of the Law cuts some sheaves of wheat which have grain of varying sizes, both large and small. These are what are called “Boby-Caldenos” and represent the values, the capital which each human being carries in his three brains (intellectual, motor, emotional).

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

He who carries small grain lives only a short while; dying within a few days, months or in the first few years of life. One lives by thirds and one dies by thirds; he who squanders his intellectual capital descends into madness, schizophrenia, etc. He who abuses his motor or movement centre ends up being paralysed, deformed, etc. He who misuses his emotional centre suffers from ailments of the heart.

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

Within each one of our three brains the Lords of Karma deposit a determined quantity of Vital Values: First Brain: thinking or intellectual, in the head.

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in The Law of Karma

If one exhausts the values of the emotional centre, one provokes illnesses of the heart, nervous and psychotic states, illnesses which are related with emotive or emotional aspects. Many artis ts exhaust the emotional brain and end up with particular psychopathic, emotional or cardiac conditions.

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

They who exhaust the values of the motor centre finish up paralysed, or with illnesses related with the muscles, the knees, the joints, paralysis, etc., damage to the spinal column.

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

In general, all illness results from the misuse of these three brains; what this means is that one dies by thirds, little by little. For example, foot ballers, runners, boxers are people who abuse the motor brain. These persons end up in a bad way, their death being due to misuse of the motor brain.

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

A practice

If one learns to manage the three brains in a balanced manner one saves the vital values which the Lords of Karma deposit, and life is prolonged. In Asia monasteries exist where the monks reach the age of 300 years or more because they harmoniously manage the three values in a balanced manner, saving the vital values of the three brains. So what then of the exact hour and date of birth and death?

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in The Law of Karma

A practice

If the values are exhausted one dies quickly, if they are saved, life is prolonged. Clearly, some are given more capital than others, depending upon the debts and credits of each one. When one believes that they have abused the thinking brain, one must put the motor brain to work. When one is doing these esoteric studies in order to prolong life one must negotiate with the Lords of Karma, but one must pay doing good deeds.

IIIPut any other center of the organic machine to work

Problems are dissolved by forgetting them, and they are forgotten by giving the tired centre rest and setting another to work, as on the ride through the Xochimilco forest. The same lecture returns to the capital of vital values and the counsel to manage the three brains in balance.

A practice

What should we do? Solve problems? No, that is not what is needed. Then what? What is needed is to dissolve them. How are they dissolved? Simply, by forgetting them. When someone is worried, go out a little to the countryside and try to be in harmony with all things, with all that is, with all that has been and with all that will be. Forgetting problems is basic. You will tell me that “it is impossible to forget problems”, but it is indeed possible. When one wants to forget them, all he has to do is put any other center of the organic machine to work.

In this way, synthesizing, I think we will understand each other, right? Now, as for the intellectual man, he is the one who creates problems of all kinds. If you have problems, I already said that they are solved by forgetting them, that the important thing is not to solve them, but to dissolve them, and for that you have to forget them.

So, how should one proceed? By putting the emotional center to work. That is what is interesting, because then the intellectual center rests and like this we forget the problem. Now, I do not want to tell you with this that one does not have to do something, that one should not work, that there is no need to earn money for subsistence or to pay debts, etc. All this has to be done, but without creating problems in the mind. Learn to manage the three brains –the intellectual, the emotional and the motor– and you will see how you change. If there is emotional worry, change the center: put the instinctive-motor brain to work, go out for a walk, go horseback riding, walk at the very least, but do something different and you will see that your vitality will not get exhausted, the physical body will rejuvenate marvelously, etc. That is then the advice I give you.

Over there, in Asia, there is a very interesting Buddhist monastery. There, the monks live 400 or 500 years because they know how to manage the intellectual brain, the emotional brain and the motor brain. When they get tired of the intellectual brain, they use the emotional one; when they get tired of the emotional one, they use the motor brain and, in this way, they maintain the energy, they do not exhaust their “vital values”.

There are those who believe that when one comes to the world, it is because one had to be born at that particular date and time –well, I have nothing to argue about this–, but moreover they think that one has to die on a certain date and at a certain age and this on the other hand is something debatable. What happens is that the Lords of Karma give one a certain capital of “vital values” that are deposited in the intellectual, emotional and motor brains. If one exhausts any of them, one dies very fast. But if one keeps one’s “values”, he can live to the age of 90 or 100 years and even more. So, what one has to do is learn to manage the three brains. It was the beginning that caused, in the long term, his death. As for others, there are those who die because of the intellectual brain: they abuse the intellect so much, they have so many worries, that they exhaust the “values” that are in that brain, and that is where they start until in the end they die. IVThe harmonious cultivation of the three brains

Fundamental Education is defined as the cultivation of all three brains, as once in the mystery schools, the theatre and the music of Babylon. Present schooling addresses only the memory and falsifies the five cylinders.

A practice

Upon leaving the classroom after ten or fifteen years of study, young people find themselves as dense and asleep as the rest of humans, as empty and lacking in intelligence as the first day they entered school. It is imperative for students to develop, amongst other things, the emotional center, because intellect is not everything. It is necessary to learn to feel the intimate harmonies of life, the beauty of a lone tree, the singing of a bird in the forest, the symphony of music and the colors of a beautiful sunset.

Fundamental Education, 1970

A practice

Fundamental education is the intelligent cultivation of the three brains. In the ancient mystery schools of Babylon, Greece, India, Persia, Egypt, etc., students received direct, integral information about their three brains by means of the intelligent combination of precept, dance, music, etc.

Fundamental Education, 1970

Currently, true creative systems do not exist for the harmonious cultivation of the three brains. Teachers of schools, colleges and universities speak only to the unfaithful memory of the bored students that anxiously wait for the time when they can leave the classroom. It is urgent and indispensable to know how to combine intellect, movement and emotion with the purpose of delivering complete information to the three brains of students. It is absurd to instruct one brain only. The first brain is not the only one of cognition. It is criminal to abuse the thinking brains of students.

Fundamental Education, 1970

A practice

Previously, in the art of the theatre, the three brains of the individual were informed; the motor, emotional and intellectual. Today schools only give information to the intellectual brain; and unhealthy mental states and neurosis are due to this. By balancing the three brains, mental disequilibrium is avoided.

Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978

The Cosmic Dramas are based on the Law of Seven. Certain intelligent deviations of such law were always utilized to transmit to the neophyte transcendental teachings. It is well known in music that certain notes can produce happiness in the thinking center; others can produce sadness in the sensitive center, and lastly, others can produce religiosity in the motor center.

In this matter of wisdom that relates so much to the mind, we must understand, my dear brothers, that there exists an antithesis. I refer to the culture of the pseudo intellectual type with which one is fed during the preparatory age. Certainly, that culture that one receives in kindergarten, in Primary schools, in Secondary school, in the “High school”, in the University, is causing us horrific damages. I would rate such a culture as black magic of the worst kind, because that kind of culture –and may I be excused here by the university brothers, like E., and, all in all, by the brothers who have loads of information in their heads; I refer to everyone, even myself, I recognize that I also went through those so much vaunted schools of Primary and Secondary Education, and all that– it no longer has any relation with the different parts of the Being. IThe superior centres are fully developed in us

Two divine centres, the superior emotional and the superior mental, are already complete and send messages, though only the inhabitants of the Kingdom use them. They manifest through the solar astral and mental bodies; education has distorted them, and they speak in the parables in which scripture is written.

How this was made. All fifty-two books were extracted — 73,105 paragraphs, 2,157,671 words — and swept for the centres by name (the intellectual, emotional, motor, instinctive and sexual centres, the superior and inferior centres), for the five cylinders and the centres of the machine, for the three brains, and for the speeds, energies and hydrogens of the centres and the energy they rob from one another. That returned 453 candidate paragraphs in 32 books, half of them from the Fifth Gospel lectures. Every candidate was read twice, by independent readers working from a written brief; they agreed on whether to print 91.8% of the time and on the class 83.0%, and a third reader, who saw neither verdict, settled the 37 they did not. 212 are printed here; 11 more were set aside as the same teaching said again or a reprint of an earlier book, and every other paragraph is recorded with the reason it was set aside.

What was set aside. The centres of the inner bodies, the chakras, lotuses and churches (in The Chakras); the centre of gravity and the magnetic centre; the machine's mechanicity taught for itself (in The Mechanical Man); the sexual act and the transmutation as technique (in Alchemy and Chastity), kept here only where the sexual centre is taught as a centre.

Nothing of his is changed except where a word split at the end of a line was joined; that was done silently.

No sentence of his is cut in half. Each range was extended against the corpus until his sentence closed; 28 ranges run over more than one paragraph.

103 passages also stand in a finished work, and every one is marked where it stands, most of them in The Mechanical Man, The Many I’s and The Mind. This booklet reprints them so that it stands alone.

Checked five ways. Every reader's note was proved to sit on the passage as printed. Every printed pair was compared as sequences. Every ragged edge was repaired or named. Every one of the 81 passages marked a practice was proved to carry its own instruction. And every passage was checked word for word against a fresh extraction of its book.
