Netzach is the Mental World, the Cosmic Mind, the Mind of the Human Being.

“Seventh: Netzach, the realm of victory”
Every word here is his. Nothing has been paraphrased, joined or improved. Each passage was cut out of the book it belongs to by reference, and each carries that book and the paragraph it came from, and, where he was speaking rather than writing, the name of the lecture. Anything on this page can be found again in the source.
This is the fourth book of the Tree of Life, the last of the magic triangle, across the Tree from Hod. His one-line definition is the whole sphere: “Netzach is the Mental World, the Cosmic Mind, the Mind of the Human Being.” Its name is victory, “Seventh: Netzach, the realm of victory”, and its star is love: “Netzah is governed by Venus, the star of love”. As a world it has its own laws and fewer of them: “the mental world is governed by twelve laws”.
The first part places Netzach on the Tree: the magic triangle, the column Jakin, its angel and its god, its card and its planet. The second is its world, and he does not flatter it. It holds everything ever thought, for “the world of the mind is the repository of all past, present and future mental forms”; it has “the inferior (Hell) and superior (Heaven) aspects of the mental world”; and it shows us as we are: “In the mental plane each person has the animal physiognomy that corresponds with his character.” The third is the way in, which is not a visit: “In order to explore the region of Netzach one needs to have created a mental psychological body; otherwise, it is impossible.” These are “Temples which must be conquered with the point of the Sword”, and the three practices stand where the teaching leads to them.

He names Netzach the seventh sephirah, the mental world and the mind of the human being, and sets it with Hod and Jesod in the third, magic triangle and on the Pillar of Mercy. Within the temple of the Intimate it is Jakin, one of the two columns, and the section closes with the invocation that asks the Angels of Netsach and Hod for a place upon the cubic stone.

9. The seventh is NETZACH, the Mental Body.
Manual of Practical Magic, 1954
As a further development there comes a third triangle, and is represented by Netzach the mind, the seventh Sephiroth. It continues with Hod, the eighth Sephiroth, the Astral Body; further down is Jesod, the ninth Sephiroth, the principal foundation of sex, the vital base of the human organism, the vital body or etheric vehicle, the Lingam Sarira of Theosophy.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in Hod, Yesod
The first triangle is Logoic; Kether, Chochmah and Binah. The second triangle is Ethic; Chesed, Geburah and Tiphereth. The third triangle is Magic; Netzach, Hod and Jesod. Malchuth, the physical world, is a fallen Sephiroth.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978 also in Hod, Malkuth, Yesod
If we analyse the second triangle we find that it is Ethic. Why do we call it “Ethic”? Simply because there ethics, right conduct, predominate. There we know the rigor of the Law; there we come to know good and evil, to know what “good” and “evil” is. This triangle is the world of Pure Spirit, the Hindu Trimurti of Atman, Buddhi and Manas. Obviously the centre of gravity of this triangle is clear to see. It is the Human Soul. That Soul suffers and is the very human part within us — that is — Tiphereth, which coincides with the causal. This triangle is also denominated the Triangle of the Son. We find there that the Cosmic Christ, Chochmah normally manifests through the Human Soul, Tiphereth of the Hebraic Kabalah. The third triangle is very interesting. The Magic triangle is made up of the mind, that is Netzach, the Astral Body or Hod and the Etheric Body, that is to say, Jesod, the basic sexual principle of Universal Life. Why is it called a Magic triangle? Because undoubtedly in the Kingdoms of the Mind, of the Astral, and even of the Kliphos or Infernal worlds is where one exercises High Magic.

ASSIAH: Is the world of action, the world of matter. Three Sephiroth of form are to be found in the Pillar of Severity (Binah, Geburah, Hod). Three Sephiroth of energy in the Pillar of Mercy (Chochmah, Chesed, Netzach). And between these two Pillars is the Pillar of Equilibrium, where are found the different levels of consciousness (Kether, Tiphereth, Jesod, Maichuth).

One will have to perform the Initiation of Malkuth, that is, the Mysteries of the Abyss in oneself, completely. One will have to take the mysteries of Yesod, the mysteries of sex to complete perfection, to the elevated qualification. One will have to go through the Initiation of Hod –the Astral Body–. One will have to go through the Initiation of Netzach –the Mental Body–. One will have to go through the Initiation of Tiphereth for the Son of Man to be born in him, and to die and resurrect among the dead. One will also have to go through the Initiation of Geburah –the Superlative Consciousness of the Being–, and through the one of Chesed –the Being, or Microprosopos, the “Little Face”, or the King of Microcosmos–. Finally, he will have to go through the Initiation on the eighth day of Binah for the King to rise from his sepulcher and come into the world of form.

The Intimate is crowned with the Sephirothic Crown. The Intimate dwells in his temple. The temple of the Intimate has two columns: Jakin and Boaz. Jakin is the mind. Boaz is the astral body. The mind is the Sephiroth Netzach. The astral is the Sephiroth Hod. These two columns of the temple sustain themselves on the cubic stone of Jesod. That cubic stone also serves as the foundation of the kingdom of Malkuth. That cubic stone is the etheric body. Malkuth is the physical body.

Anael governs this world, Venus rules it, and its symbols are the lamp, the belt and the rose; Xochipilli, the Aztec god who dwells there, is invoked and paid with good deeds. Its number is the Arcane Seven, the Chariot of War, and he argues that the mind itself is Mercurian.
This is the world of the Cosmic Mind; this world is governed by Anael, a divine child filled with beauty. Anael is the Angel of love. The mystic enters into ecstasy when contemplating Anael’s perfection. That Angel is precious; his countenance is rosy as the dawn and his hair look as if it were a golden cascade. All of these give onto this Angel an ineffable, enchanted, sublime and delectable presence. Indeed, Netzah is related with the world of love, of music and of beauty.
Aztec Christic Magic, 1973
The Aztec sculpture of Xochipilli is just a symbol of this Great Master who lives in the world of the mind. Netzah is governed by Venus, the star of love... The symbols of Netzah are the lamp, the belt, the rose... Netzah governs the kidneys, the waist.

The Aztec God Xochipilli, god of happiness, music and dance, is found in Netzah. Xochipilli, the Aztec God, always does his negotiations with the Kabbalistic number Ten; this is the ‘Wheel of fortune, the ‘Wheel of reincarnations and karma, the terrific Wheel of retribution. Whosoever wants to invoke this Master must first of all wash their hands with pure water. Xochipilli must be invoked in the time between 10:00 p.m. of Friday and 2:00 a.m. of Saturday. Nothing is given free onto us and Xochipilli charges for any service that we might ask. Whosoever has funds can pay for any service, then pays and gets anything. Yet, the one who has no funds has to suffer the consequences. Perform good deeds so that you can have funds for payments. This is how Xochipilli can perform miracles and marvels for you. Good deeds are symbolized in the superior worlds by mysterious jewels and coins. So, these types of jewels and coins are the currency that you need in order to pay for the services that you might ask of Xochipilli. Xochipilli does not perform anything for free; everything has a price. Xochipilli can make the ‘Wheel of retribution spin on your behalf. You may resolve all your problems with this Aztec God, but he charges for any type of service because he cannot violate the Law. You must never ask to Xochipilli to perform anything evil because he is a Master of the light. Remember that this Deity is a very pure Angel from Netzah, the world of the mind. ‘When an inferior law is transcended by a superior law, the superior law washes away the inferior law. This is how one works with White Magic and one gets everything without the necessity of using the force of thought to violate the free will of people. If you are suffering, if you have some problem that you cannot resolve, this is a matter of karma; go to the aid of Xochipilli so that he can help you to resolve that problem that is the cause of your suffering. Yet, you have to pay to Xochipilli with the funds of good deeds; if you do not have funds to pay to Xochipilli, then Xochipilli cannot perform your requested service. Nonetheless, a remedy exists: ask a credit to Xochipilli, this is the way; then the outcome will be marvellous. Remember that any type of credit must be paid with good deeds. If you do not pay the credit, then they will collect it from you with intense grief. This is the Law. Perform good deeds so that you can pay your debts.

Without doubt, in Netzach we can find Hermetic Magic and in Hod, Natural Magic. Other authors think differently. They believe that Natural Magic is in Netzach, the mental world. I must disagree with them in that aspect, because the mind properly defined, is Mercurian. There are authors who are not in agreement with my concepts, they consider it to be Venusian. I am sorry to have to take issue with those concepts, but anyone is able to realise that the mind is Mercurian. So then, Hermetic Magic must be identified with Mercury in the mind, and with respect to Natural Magic, Ceremonial or Ritual Magic etc., we may find it in the Astral world, in the Astral Body.

The mental world holds every mental form, past, present and future, and has its place among the seven worlds and the heavens, as the Heaven of Mercury where the Archangels work. There sexual attraction follows the laws of polarity and mental affinity, humanity lives a life much like this one, and minds ruined by reasoning lie in its hospitals.
In the name of truth, we have to say that the world of the mind is the repository of all past, present and future mental forms. The world of the natural or universal mind must therefore be studied thoroughly, profoundly, if we want to understand something about the Ego and the representations.

Naturally, we have many “I’s” inside, and each of them is a demon. These “I’s” are invisible to the eyes of the flesh, but they can be seen with clairvoyance, they live in the unknown dimension. To be clear –to speak only a little bit clearer–, they live in the fifth dimension, in the molecular world, and even in the sixth, that is in the mental world, and even in the seventh, that is the world of natural causes.

Sex is the fifth power of the human being. Sex can liberate or enslave man. No one can attain integrity no one can profoundly realize himself without the sexual force. No celibate can achieve total realization. Sex is the power of the Soul. The integral human being is achieved with the absolute fusion of the masculine and feminine pales of the Soul. The sexual force develops, evolves and progresses on seven levels (The seven levels of the Soul). In the physical world sex is a blind force of mutual attraction. In astral, sexual attraction is based on the affinity of types according to their polarities and essences. In the mental world sexual attraction takes place according to the laws of polarity and mental affinity. On the causal plane sexual attraction is realized on the basis of Conscious Will. It is precisely on this plane of natural causes where the complete union of the Soul is consciously realized, In fact, no one can attain the complete glory of the Perfect Matrimony without having reached this fourth state of human integration. We need to profoundly comprehend the whole sexual problem. We need to be integral. We need to transcend the mechanics of sex. We need to know how to procreate children of wisdom. At the supreme instant of conception, the human essences are completely open to all kinds of influences. The state of purity of the parents and their force of will to not spill the Cup of Hermes is all that can protect them from the danger that the spermatozoon and the ovum may be infiltrated by the subhuman substances of the bestial egos, which wish to reincarnate.

After we had investigated our previous invocations, we decided to study the Third Invocation of the “CONJURATION OF THE SEVEN”, which, to the letter, says as follows: “In the name of Raphael, begone before Elial, Samgabiel!” When we investigated Samgabiel, (do not confuse with St. (Saint) Gabriel), we met a terrible demon of the World of the Cosmic Mind. The Angel Elial is his exact Divine and Ineffable Opposite. On a certain day, we invoked Raphael... Then the Grand Master attended our call. The Master carried the Trident of the Mental World in his right hand. His face was rosy like fire. His white beard draped over his chest, was filled with majesty and light. The Master’s wide forehead indicated his profound wisdom to us. One of us asked the Grand Master for something. The Master answered saying: “You no longer need to ask for any thing!”

Really, he was an Initiate with complete knowledge of the Science of Good and Evil. It will cause great astonishment to our readers to know that the human soul of the Grand Master (the bodhisattva Raphael) has a physical body. The serious thing is to know that the Bodhisattva... is fallen! However, he is struggling terribly to rise... We should distinguish between the Master and his Human Soul. The Master is the Internal God. The Human Soul of the Master is now fallen... Many extremely dangerous demons live in the World of the Cosmic Mind! On a certain occasion, we entered a very luminous temple of the World of the Mind. All of us, the investigators, were functioning with our Mental Body. In that temple, there was a venerable group of elders. They were dressed in the robes of Masters. They wore sandals. Their white hair fell over their shoulders in beautiful curls. Their long white beards and their wide foreheads, gave those elders a magnificent appearance. We, the investigators, believed that we were in a Temple of White Magic, before a group of Holy Masters. That was the belief we had! One of those elders pronounced an ineffable speech. He spoke sublime things! He spoke divine things! He spoke of Love, Goodness, Beauty, Charity, etc. Suddenly, the Grand Master began to delicately touch the problem of Sex. And then, in a sublime way he said: “Grow and multiply the sexual act is nothing bad, seminal ejaculation is not bad, it is necessary for reproduction, because God said: “Grow and Multiply!” This and many other terms were used by that venerable elder, to defend seminal ejaculation. It was then that we began to suspect the sanctity of that “saint”. We began to doubt... could this elder be a Black Magician? However, on looking around us, we only saw venerable elders... splendorous light!... Ineffable things... It even seemed a sacrilege to us to doubt this Master and such a sacred place! But the mortifying doubt, in spite of everything, in spite of all our reasoning, continued to afflict us deeply. That was when one of us, wanting to clear up these doubts, stood up and launched these phrases: “Long live the Christ! Down with Jahve! Christ and Jahve are the two antitheses. Light and Darkness! White and Black Magic!... Jahve was that demon that tempted Christ on the Mountain. Jahve is a terribly perverse demon! He is the Chief of the Black Magistracy. When we shout: “LONG LIVE THE CHRIST!” and “DOWN WITH JAHVE!” the black lodge then turns against us, full of anger; Black Magicians adore Jahve! They follow Jahve... That is what happened that night in that Temple in the World of the Mind! When those “holy” men of venerable and august appearance heard that “LONG LIVE”

The “I” steals the erotic images the senses gather and reproduces them in the mental plane, where they come alive as effigies that tempt the sleeper. These passages trace how that happens, what the clairvoyant sees there, and two tests in which he met the effigies of his own making.
We must watch over the “I” within all of the levels of consciousness, because many loyal and sincere devouts who achieved chastity in this valley of tears became terrible fornicators within the world of the Cosmic Mind. Have you ever meditated even once on the danger of erotic images? Remember that within your mind you have a skilful translator. This translator is the “I”, who always betrays the devouts of the Path. This “I” creates mental effigies, living demons of the Mental Plane. The devouts fornicate with these demons in the Mental Plane. The movie theatres are true temples of Black Magic of the Mental Plane, because the mind creates living effigies, tempting demons which are absolute duplicates of the erotic images that we have seen in the movies or in the newspapers or in pornographic magazines.
Aquarian Message, 1960 also in Lust and Chastity, The Three Traitors
The “I” betrays us in other levels of consciousness. A simple erotic word becomes fornication within the Mental World. An ironic word signifies violence within the Mental Plane, therefore, we need to love, to adore our worst enemies. We need to attain supreme chastity in all of the levels of consciousness, and we need to give even the last drop of blood for this adorable humanity.
Aquarian Message, 1960 also in Lust and Chastity, The Three Traitors
Thus, the organs of the senses of external perception collect the information that comes from the exterior world. Then, the information passes into the cerebral office where the office worker (the mind) analyzes and studies it. Unfortunately, the office worker has always a bad secretary who betrays him. That bad secretary is the “I,” the myself, the ego. For instance, we go to the movie-theater where we watch an erotic movie; there, the office worker within his cerebral suite collects all the perceptions. The office worker studies the movie; he contemplates it; he enjoys himself with it. Thereafter, the secretary, by his own whim, on the sly and in secrecy, plunders the erotic images and reproduces them in Nature’s Mental Plane. This is how these images convert themselves into living effigies of the Mental Plane. Later on, during our normal sleep, the mind, bottled up with the “I,” fornicates with those mental effigies. This is why nocturnal pollutions occur.
Endocrinology and Criminology, 1957
The psychological “I” traps that representation within the depths of the unconsciousness of the mind and elaborates its conceptual content with it. The conceptual content is translated as semi-conscious images within the world of the cosmic mind. These are the effigies of the Mental World. The psychological “I” fornicates and commits adultery with those images within the plane of the cosmic mind.
Endocrinology and Criminology, 1957
When we look at a pornographic image, it injures the senses and then passes to the mind. The psychological “I” intervenes in these things, stealing the erotic image for itself, in order to reproduce it in the mental plane. In the world of the mind that image is transformed into a living effigy. During sleep the dreamer fornicates with that living effigy which, like an erotic demon tempts him for the satisfaction of the lust. The result is wet dreams with all their horrible con sequences. No true devotee of the path should visit cinemas because they are dens of black magic. The erotic figures of the screen give rise to mental effigies and erotic dreams. In addition the cinemas are full of diabolic elementals created by the human mind. Those malign elementals damage the mind of the spectators.

Once, on a given occasion, after having dictated a lecture, a bachelor disciple asked us if it were possible to practice the Great Arcanum with a woman of the Astral World. We answered him that only with a woman of flesh and blood is it possible to awaken Kundalini. Another brother who was also a bachelor wanted to practice with imaginary women! This is very ominous! When the mind creates a mental effigy, this effigy acquires consciousness and converts itself into a tempting demon of the Mental World. During sleep, this effigy discharges us sexually through nocturnal pollutions (wet dreams). It is very difficult for a student to disintegrate those mental effigies. Commonly, the students become victims of those mental effigies that their own mind invented. The best is to find a spouse that will really cooperate in the Grand Opus.

If a clairvoyant were to study in the Mental Plane the announcements of love of all of those magazines, he then will see houses of prostitution. Each announcement of love corresponds within the Mental World to a horrible mental bedroom of a whorehouse. Every clairvoyant is astonished when seeing those whorehouses from the Mental Plane. A prostitute, lying down, is found within each bedroom of those horrible dens. Men enter and leave from those bedrooms. Each announcement of the magazine corresponds to one of those bedrooms. The woman who placed the announcement is lying down in her bedroom. This is what the prostitution of the Mental Plane is.
Endocrinology and Criminology, 1957
In this present reincarnation when I was struggling for the Fourth Grade of the Power of Fire, and had still not dissolved the ego, I saw on the screen of a cinema the image of an erotic couple. That night in the world of the mind I was submitted to a test in which the couple upon the screen repeated the same scene. The aforementioned scene was reproduced by my mind and seemed to have life, movement. I came out of the test. When I left the world of the mind and passed to the astral world I was harshly recriminated, and I was warned that if I returned to those places (cinemas) I would lose the Sword; that it would be better if I were to study my past lives in the Akashic Records.

Then, he replied to me: “The Master is busy now; he is examining other effigies of the mental world.” Ah! So, that is when I came to realize that I had been with a mental effigy created by myself; I had created it there in the middle of the movie. And that effigy had taken a life of its own in the mental world, it was a woman exactly like the actress I had seen in the movie. In short, I had reproduced it in my poor mind, and now, in the world of the mind, I had found myself face to face with that effigy created by myself. The Master continued examining other effigies of other Initiates. I had no choice but to leave the temple. I returned to my physical body. I was very sad for the entire next day regretting having gone to the cinema. “What a blunder!” I said. “I should not have gone! Look what I have created, a mental effigy!” That is, I was very bitter. I was waiting for the night to come, to see what was decided. I asked for forgiveness fifty thousand million times to the Christ, to the intimate Christ, because –I said– he is the only one who will be able to forgive me for this “huge blunder”.
The Fifth Gospel The Exercise of Self-knowledge
Part Three · 7 passages
Creating the mental body frees one from the world of twenty-four laws into the world of twelve, and without it no one can enter the regions of Netzach. The fourth serpent rising in that body christifies the mind, and whoever completes it is received as a Buddha in the Temple of the Mind.
We know that the astral body (do not confuse it with the lunar body), is governed by twenty-four laws and that the physical body is governed by fourty-eight laws. If we create the astral body, then it is clear that we liberate ourselves from the fatal world of forty-eight laws. Thus, we convert ourselves into inhabitants of the world of twenty-four laws. If we create the mental body, then we liberate ourselves from the world of the twenty-four laws. Thus, we enter into the world of twelve laws. Let us remember that the mental world is governed by twelve laws. If we create the causal body, the body of the Conscious Will, we enter into the world of six laws. Thus, we convert ourselves into inhabitants of that world as the body of the Conscious Will (the causal body) is governed by six laws.

How could we explore the regions of Netzach if we do not connect correctly with the superior centers of Being? In order to explore the region of Netzach one needs to have created a mental psychological body; otherwise, it is impossible. No one can create a psychological body if they let themselves be carried away by negative emotions. There would not be enough energy to create an individual mind that would allow us to explore the psychological regions of the universal mind.
The Fifth Gospel Secret Repercussions of the Rings of Alcyone
To be able to explore the regions of Hod or Netzach, one needs to learn to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, and no one can tell the truth when they let themselves be carried away by negative emotions.

The Solar Mental Body is not a vague, abstract body, it is a body of flesh and bone; but of everlasting flesh which does not come from Adam and which can traverse a wall. It must be fabricated in the Ninth Sphere. The Solar Mental is a body of perfection which eats, drinks, assimilates, digests, has its special foods, its nutrition, its development. In the world of the Mind there are many Temples which must be conquered with the point of the Sword. When one works in the Fourth Initiation of Major Mysteries, one meets with many tenebrous ones, and must fight. When one acquires this body, one receives the grade of Buddha. The Blessed Mother of the World presents the person in the Temple of the Mind saying: “Here is my beloved Son, here is a new Buddha”. She then places upon her Son the diadem of Shiva and the yellow robe of the Buddha. Sanat Kumara, the illustrious founder of the Great College of Initiates of the White Lodge, then exclaims: “You have been liberated from the four bodies of sin and have penetrated into the world of the Gods, you are a Buddha; when man frees himself from the four bodies of sin he is a Buddha”. He then presents him with the Globe of the Imperator which is surmounted by a Cross.

The fourth serpent transmutes the material mind into Christ-mind. This serpent rises through the spinal column of the mental body. Jesus entered each of the 33 chambers of the mental world. As his fourth serpent rose from vertebra to vertebra, he transmuted his material mind into Christ-mind. Without the fire, it is impossible to christify the mind, and the fire can only be awakened with sexual magic and love.
The Greater Mysteries, 1956 also in The Mind
When the fourth Serpent has succeeded in the ascent through the medullar channel of the mental specter then the fourth Initiation of Major Mysteries is reached. The fourth Serpent also reaches the space between the eyebrows and descends to the heart. In the world of the mind Sanat Kumära always welcomes the candidate saying, “You have liberated yourself from the four bodies of sin. You are a Buddha. You have entered the world of the Gods. You are a Buddha. Everyone who liberates himself of the four bodies of sin is a Buddha. You are a Buddha. You are a Buddha.” The cosmic festivity of this initiation is grandiose. The entire world, the entire universe trembles with happiness, saying,” A new Buddha has been born.” The Divine Mother Kundalini presents her child in the temple saying,” This is my beloved son. He is a new Buddha. He is a new Buddha. He is a new Buddha.” The holy women congratulate the candidate with a sacred kiss. The festival is terribly divine. The Great Masters of the Mind extract from within the mental specter, the beautiful child of the Christ mind. This child is born in the fourth Initiation of Major Mysteries. Everyone who receives the fourth initiation gains Nirvana. Nirvana is the world of the Holy Gods. Whoever reaches the fourth initiation receives the Globe of the Imperator of the Mind. The sign of the cross shines upon this globe. The mind must be crucified and stigmatized in the initiation. In the World of the Mind sparkles the Universal Fire. Each one of the thirty three chambers of the mind teaches us terrible truths.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
By breaking the fourth seal which corresponds to the mental world, the Initiate obviously knows all the mysteries of the universal mind, knows what the seven minds are and has organized them correctly. His mind, in synthesis, has been Christified.

Part Three · 9 passages
Before entering, the Arhat must steal the fire from the demons of the mind and defeat its Guardian of the Threshold, the personification of the Ego. Once through, he shines in the flames of the cosmic mind, and the section ends with the password that opens the temples of the mental plane.
19. There is now the need to steal the fire from the demons of the mental world.
Igneous Rose, 1954
18. It is urgent to deprive ourselves of the guardian of the threshold of the mind in order to become liberated from our animal past. 19. After opening his igneous wings, the Arhat must now pass the ordeal of the guardian of the threshold of the mental world. 20. Have courage, oh warrior, oh fighter. This is a supreme moment.
Igneous Rose, 1954 also in Igneous Rose
The Guardian of the Threshold has a second aspect, the mental aspect. We should know that the mind of man is still not human. It is in the animal stage. In the mental plane each person has the animal physiognomy that corresponds with his character. There, the astute is a real fox. The passionate appear as a dog or as a he-goat etc., etc. The encounter with the Guardian of the Threshold in the plane of the mind is even more frighteningly horrible than in the astral plane. Really the second Guardian is the Great Guardian of the Threshold of the World. The struggle with the second Guardian is usually very horrible. It is the candidate who must invoke the second Guardian in the mental plane. He comes preceded by the horrifying electrical hurricane. If the candidate is victorious, he is received with a warm welcome in the Chamber of the Children in the mental plane. If he fails he re mains enslaved by the horrible monster. All our mental crimes are personified in this larva. THE THIRD GUARDIAN The encounter with the third guardian takes place in the world of the will. The Demon of the Ill Will is the most terrible of the three. People do their personal will. The Masters of the White Lodge do only the Will of the Father, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
The Perfect Matrimony, 1950 (ed. 1966)
The Guardian of the Threshold in the world of the mind evolves into a personification of the Ego. It is indispensable in the Fourth Initiation of Fire to confront heroically the terrible trial, to defeat the Terrible Brother, as it is known in Occult Masonry.
The Three Mountains, 1972 also in Fear
The Black Magicians from the world of the mind are terribly dangerous... The Arhat has to courageously confront them and to defeat them with the sharp edge of his sword. The Guardian of the Threshold of the mind is the third Guardian who crosses us on our path.
Occult Medicine and Practical Magic, 1955 (ed. 1978)
24. Now, as a Master, the third guardian is coming to encounter you. Defeat him, and your mind will be free from the external senses. 25. The external wings are opened within the blazing fire of the mind. The tenebrous ones of the world of the mind attack you within the blazing flames. Defeat them, oh Arhat! 26. Control your mind with the whip of willpower.
Igneous Rose, 1954
1. You have reached the thirty-third chamber, oh Arhat! The higher three chambers of your head have now been united by means of fire 2. A metallic bell makes all the places of the earth tremble and the crown centre of your pineal gland shines within the blazing flames of the cosmic mind 3. Your white tunic shines terrifically within the ardent sparks of the universal flames. . 4. Ineffable orchestras resound in the temple within the great rhythms of the fire 5. This igneous rose of your mental crown makes your face and your august temples shine within the undulating flames of the mental world 6. This is the lotus of one thousand petals this is the crown of saints This is the eye of polivoyance This is the Diamond Eye 7. Oh Arhat! you must now connect your pineal gland with your pituitary gland by means of the fire.
Igneous Rose, 1954
5. The sacred fire has opened its way through your cranium and now departs and enters into the surrounding atmosphere like a blaze of flames that ardently spark. 6. You shine in the world of the mind as a splendorous sun, oh Arhat! 7. You have converted yourself into an ardent flame in the world of the cosmic mind. 8. Ineffable music resounds in the environs of the temple. Receive your bouquet of flowers, oh Arhat!
Igneous Rose, 1954
A practice
On the other hand, all those who traverse the Fourth Path (the world of the Mind), should be on the lookout for the “Password,” which will allow them to enter the Temples of the Mental Plane. This Word is: ADACRIPTO The cardinal numbers, ONE, TWO, THREE are expressed, Eba, Doba, Dusna. And in those Three Principles of the Shining Dragon of Wisdom is based all the exercise of Theurgy.
Logos, Mantram, Theurgy, 1959
How it was made. All fifty-two books in the library were searched for Netzach by every spelling he uses (Netzach, Netzah, Netsach, Netsah), and for its world by each of his names for it, the mental world or plane and the world of the mind. A narrower gate was tried first and its leavings sampled; they still held the world itself, so the whole set was read. That found 150 candidates in 31 books. Each was read by two readers working apart, who agreed on 134 of them; a third reader, who did not see what either had decided, settled the 16 they did not. 75 paragraphs were judged printable; they make 72 passages, and 68 are printed here.
What was left out, and why. Most of the paragraphs not printed use the world of the mind in passing while teaching something else. Others belong to other works and stay there: the mind as a faculty, how it runs and how it is mastered, to The Mind; the mental body and how it is made to the books of the bodies; the dead to Return and Reincarnation; the rounds of the Earth to The Root Races. Where he says, in the course of them, what Netzach or its world is, the passage is here. The sixth dimension, which he places beyond time and eternity, is left to the spheres above.
Kept whole, not padded. 4 printable passages were set aside when the sections were made, each because another passage in the work gives the same teaching more fully; one of them is a reprint, Dissolving the I carrying a Christmas Messages paragraph word for word. 38 passages run over more than one paragraph, where his sentence crosses the break. The invocation to the Spirits of Malchuth, which asks the Angels of Netsach and Hod for a place on the cubic stone, stands word for word in three books and is printed from The Greater Mysteries, as Yesod prints it.
He does not always agree with himself, and nothing here smooths it over. In 1951 he gives Netzach Saturn and the eighth card; in the Kabbalah course, Mercury, Gemini and the Chariot; in 1961 Venus, the angel Anael and the Arcane Seven. In one book of 1953 Netzach is the mental body; everywhere else it is the mental world. Each stands in its own words, with its year.
What was done to his words. Nothing was paraphrased. The only changes are to the scanning and the setting: words broken at the end of a line and closed up against the corpus; 8 places the scanner damaged or the setting ran into the text, given in their plain reading (love for ol ve, exist for Sexist, terrifically for terrfically, Microprosopos for Micropros- opos), and two headings set inside the first line of a passage. Each change is recorded with its place in the book in the project notes.
29 passages also stand in a finished work, and each one is marked where it stands.
