Every word here is his. Nothing has been paraphrased or improved. Each passage was cut out of the book it belongs to by reference, and each carries that book and the paragraph it came from, so anything on this page can be found again in the source. Most of it comes from the three books where he gave a whole lesson on the sign, the Zodiacal Course, the Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology and the Manual of Practical Magic; the rest are the paragraphs where he names Taurus, or ties the Bull and the Cow to it, in other books. Many of these passages also stand in other works of the shelf, chiefly The Laws of the Three and of the Seven, Slander and The Law of Karma. They are gathered here on purpose: the same teaching comes back in several of them because hearing it again is how it settles.

The first part is the sign and its tables: its dates and its table, its metal, stones, colour and element, the number two, its plants, the sixth Sephirah and the genii of the sign, and the throat in the living zodiac: “To the number 2 corresponds the constellation of Taurus, which governs the neck” “The plants of TAURUS are similar to the human neck and they belong to the element earth.”

The second is the law: the two golden rules and the third that solves them, the scale of deeds, the Lords of Karma and the Cosmic Bank, karma and dharma, and the three eternal things: “Do good deeds to pay your debts” “We ourselves are the creators of our own destiny.”

The third is the creative verb: the larynx where the verb is born, the verb and the four elements, the seven cosmos, their notes and their laws: “The larynx is also a sexual uterus where the verb is born.” “There are seven orders of worlds, seven cosmos that were created with the power of the Verb, with music, with sound.”

The fourth is the sexual marriage of the word: the three forces and their names, and the seven temples where the Elohim sang the universe into being: “These three forces constitute the Sacred Triamazikamno.” “The Angels create with the power of the word.”

The fifth is the responsibility of the verb: the misuse of the word, slander, criminal silences, sincerity, and sterile and fertile words: “…there is another kind of fornication with the verb.” “The perfect man is he who knows how to keep silent when his “Inner-Being” does not speak.”

The sixth is the sparkle of Venus: the two glands of the neck, the work with the sparkle of Venus and the prayer to the Angel of Venus, the choir of Angels, the clock of destiny and the Magical Ear: “Venus is related to Love and Mars to war.” “That is how the army of the word creates by means of the verb.”

The seventh is the Bull and the Cow: the cattle and music, the Puranic Trimurti, the five-legged Cow, the conductor of the Cow, the Mithraic Bull, the Cretan Bull, and the Pleiades round the eye of the Bull: “The Bull, the Cow, the calf become touched by music” “Father, Mother and Son; that is the Puranic Trimurti.”

The eighth is the natives, those born under the sign: “Taurines are tame and industrious like the bull” “Taurines are like the ox: hardworking and tenacious.”

The ninth part is the practice: the light taken from the head to the throat with AOM and with AUM, the genii of the sign, the vowel E and the perfume: “With the vowel “A” he imagines the light descending from his head to his throat” “The vowel “E” causes the Thyroid gland, which is the center of the magical ear, to vibrate.”

This is the seventh of twelve, one for each sign, each released as the sun enters it.

The judges of destiny have a temple and a chief. Good deeds are capital in the Cosmic Bank, and karmic analogies are fought with dharmic ones.

When we have accumulated capital in the Cosmic Bank, we pay our debts and avoid pain. Those who live daily making “new deposits” to the Cosmic Bank will always have something with which to pay their old debts. IIIKarma and Dharma: these two oriental terms mean punishment and reward

To modify the causes is to modify the effects. He gives examples of paying a debt with its opposite deed, and reminds the disciple that justice is the supreme mercy of the law.

Karma and Dharma: these two oriental terms mean punishment and reward. In a more philosophical form we would say: bad action and bad consequence, and modifying the causes, one modifies the effects, since the effects are nothing else but causes reproduced in another form. Are you going to be made a prisoner? Give freedom to another ! Is your son going to die? Heal your fellowman ! Are you in misery? Give all that you have left to the hungry and sacrifice all your efforts in favor of others. Beg, in prayer, to the Lords of Karma and you will be heard.

VWe should Awaken Consciousness in the Word

The Hermetic Astrology on the word: consciousness sleeps in the larynx, and silence too can be a transgression.

We should Awaken Consciousness in the Word, in the Creative Larynx, in order for it to one day also be able to pronounce the Spermatic and Luminous Fiat of the first instant. Consciousness sleeps in our larynx; we are unconscious with the word; we need to become fully Conscious of the Word.

It is said that silence is golden. We say that there exist criminal silences. It is as bad to speak when one should remain silent as it is to remain silent when one should speak. There are times when to speak is a transgression. There are times when to remain silent is also a transgression.

III will teach you how to use the sparkle of Venus

A work of service done for another: the posture, the prayer to the Inner Master asking him to kneel before Uriel in the temple of Venus, the salutes with Jachin and Boaz, and the petition.

A practice

Do you know of any home where bitterness reigns? Do you want to serve disinterestedly? Do you know of a poor woman abandoned in misery by a suitor? Do you want to help her? Listen to me well, beloved disciple, for I will teach you how to use the sparkle of Venus: Sit in a comfortable chair. Close your eyes. Set aside all earthly thought from your mind and focus your thought on your Internal Master, praying like this: “Dear Father, you who art my true Being, I beg you with all my heart and with all my soul, that you penetrate in the “heart temple” of the star of Venus so that you may kneel at the feet of “Uriel” and ask of him the following favor: (One asks for the favor one desires)”. Then, the disciple mentally salutes the guardian at the right column, will take a deep breath and pronounce the password “Jachin”. Next, he will do the same with the guardian at the left column and pronounces the password: “Boaz”, in other words, first the deep breath, then he will pray to his Internal Master telling him: “Lord, take the seven steps into the temple to make the petition. My Father, my Lord, my God”. Once the petition has been made, one asks “Uriel” with one’s whole heart for a choir of Angels to accomplish the work. (Singing, they create).

IVThey grant what we ask for, when Karma allows it

When the petition is refused, the clock of destiny is shown. Mental force used without the Lords of Destiny is black magic, and the miracle worker unites the mind with the Inner Self.

They grant what we ask for, when Karma allows it. However, if our petition is not granted, then Uriel will show the disciple “the clock of destiny” and, in this case, we have no other option but to bow down our head before the verdict of the Law. In the actual world, there is a great number of schools that try to accomplish these same “miracles” by mental force, without taking into account at all, the approval of the Lords of Destiny. That is simply, pure and legitimate black magic. The Christ-mind works well with the law. Black mental waves do not arrive where they are sent because a multitude of aerial “elementals”, that trap and intercept their path, exist in the subtle world. Innumerable forces, which divert or disintegrate destructive mental waves, also exist in space. Therefore, evil waves can only cause harm when the victim does not know how to love nor forgive.

A practice

Let us now enter the exercises of Taurus. During this month, the following exercise is done: The disciple should sit on a comfortable chair. Close your eyes, remove all thought from your mind, make yourself a little drowsy and then focus your mind inwards, towards the Inner Self, praying like this: “My Father, now transport yourself to the principal star of Taurus, enter through the doors of the heart-temple making the salutes which you already know and beg the sidereal genie and his angels of that star to condescend and come to me, so that they may “prepare” me and cure my larynx.” Then, already sleepy, the disciple should imagine seeing light accumulated in his head now descending to his throat, while he pronounces the word: “AOM”. With the vowel “A” he imagines the light descending from his head to his throat; with the vowel “O”, he will imagine the light flooding his throat; and with the vowel “M”, the disciple will exhale the breath as if expiring the refuse that resides in his throat. How this was made. All fifty-two books were extracted (73,105 paragraphs, 2,157,671 words) and swept for the sign. The sweep took the whole Taurus chapters of three books: the Zodiacal Course (1951, ¶78–153, the lesson on Taurus, with the summary of the second lesson, ¶982–987; 82 paragraphs), the Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology (1967, ¶48–122, 75) and the Manual of Practical Magic (1954, ¶442–447, 6). It then took every other paragraph in any book that names Taurus or the Taurines (21), and every paragraph that names the Bull, the Cow, the calf, the heifer, the ox, Apis, Mithra, the Minotaur, the Pleiades or Aldebaran (215), for the readers to keep only where he ties it to the sign; the lines of his correspondence tables not already in, from Occult Medicine and Practical Magic (3); and, where his sentence ran across the paragraph break, the paragraph beside it (12). The larynx and the thyroid were not searched for on their own: they run all through his books on the mantras, and the lessons on the sign carry what he says of them under Taurus. That returned 414 candidate paragraphs in 42 books, 183 of them already printed in another work of the shelf. Every candidate was read twice, by independent readers working from a written brief. The two passes agreed on whether to print 99.0% of the time and on the class 98.3%. A third reader, who saw neither verdict, settled the four disagreements on whether to print, and set all four aside: a rule the Zodiacal Course gives for every sign (¶944), a line of another sign’s chapter that only names a Taurine husband (Hermetic Astrology, ¶1024), and two paragraphs of The Three Mountains (¶2120, ¶2122) where the Cretan Bull is his own task, with no word of the sign. The three that differed only on the class were settled in placing: ¶130 of the Zodiacal Course as a practice, ¶50 of Hermetic Astrology as the end of the sentence before it, and a heading of Occult Medicine set aside. 166 were judged printable, and 35 of them were joined into the passage before them where his sentence or his list ran across several paragraphs, so 131 passages are printed here. The rest are recorded with the reason each was set aside.

The practices were not gathered in a separate pass. The eight passages marked as practices are the ones the readers marked as giving the reader something to do. Seven are gathered as the last part, with the three passages that stand among them: what the vowel E also gives, and the perfume of the sign. The eighth, the work with the sparkle of Venus and the prayer to the Angel of Venus, stays in the sixth part, because the passages after it say what follows when the petition is granted or refused.

What was set aside. Of the 248 paragraphs the readers set aside, 216 spoke of the Bull, the Cow, the calf, the ox, Apis, Mithra, the Minotaur or the Pleiades without tying them to the sign: images, sayings, stories, and the Sacred Cow of other chapters. Of the 215 paragraphs of the Bull the sweep found, 214 were set aside; the one kept tells how the Cretan Bull came to Minos, straight after the line where he relates it to Taurus. Twenty-one were headings, salutations, sign-offs and the labels of his tables; eleven belonged to another sign, named Taurus only in a list of the signs, or gave a rule for every sign.

Two mends, recorded. In the Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology this page prints “names: Surp-Otheos, Surp-Skiros” for “names: SurpOtheos, Surp-Skiros”; “humble and hard workers” for “humble and hard. workers”, as the scan has it: the first is settled by the same sentence, which spells the other two names Surp-Skiros and Surp-Athanotos (¶74); the second by the Manual of Practical Magic, where the same natives are “hardworking” (¶447). Otherwise the passages are printed as the extraction gives them, its remaining slips included (“The Revolution of Bel”, “others dry it This”, “Give freedom to another !”).

No sentence of his is cut in half. Each range was extended against the corpus until his sentence closed, and 16 ranges run over more than one paragraph. The three headings inside printed ranges, PRAYER and EXERCISE in the Zodiacal Course (¶134, ¶142, ¶144), are not printed.

Nothing was left out on purpose. Where he says the same thing in two books in different words, both are printed: the larynx as the uterus where the word is gestated, the misuse of the word, the criminal silences, the sixth Sephirah in his two lists, and the natives in three books.

81 passages also stand in a finished work, and every one is marked where it stands, most often in The Laws of the Three and of the Seven (28), Slander (10) and The Law of Karma (9). The repetition is wanted: this is the vocabulary of the whole teaching, and a reader who meets the same line in a second book holds it better. What is not allowed is an overlap a reader cannot see.

No passage carries an editor’s note. Every passage from his early books was read for a line that credits the Kundalini to anything other than the work of the couple, and none does: the one passage of the lesson that names its secret names the Great Arcanum, the work of the couple; the exercises of the sign are given for the larynx, the thyroid and the occult ear, and in them the light descends from the head to the throat.

Checked twice over. Every section and part title is a line of his, proved against the passages under it. And every passage was checked word for word against a fresh extraction of its book.

The seventh work of The Zodiac, beside Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries and the Zodiacal Course booklet on the shelf, which prints his practice for every sign. This one gathers everything he says on one sign. It wears the pale night-blue of the zodiac and the themed works’ two hairlines, in the green of his table for the sign.
