Nine parts, from the sign of the Celestial Virgin and Eden, through the Prakriti, the Second Birth and the three Gunas, to the mind, the belly, its natives and its practice
Above, the twelve signs in the order of his own list, with Virgo lit, the sixth, at the head. Below, the road through the work: tap a part to go to it. The caption is his own sentence, from the passage it links to.
Every word here is his. Nothing has been paraphrased or improved. Each passage
was cut out of the book it belongs to by reference, and each carries that book and the
paragraph it came from, so anything on this page can be found again in the source. Most of it comes from the
three books where he gave a whole lesson on the sign, the Zodiacal Course, the Esoteric Treatise
of Hermetic Astrology and the Manual of Practical Magic; the rest are the paragraphs where he names
Virgo, or the Celestial Virgin of the constellation, in other books. Many of these passages also stand in other
works of the shelf, chiefly Whose Veil No Mortal Has Lifted, Scorpio, The Words He Uses and Zodiacal Course. They are gathered here on purpose: the same teaching comes back in
several of them because hearing it again is how it settles.
The first part is the sign of the Celestial Virgin: the dates of the sign and its table, its metal, stone,
colour and element, its plants, the virginal womb of Nature, the house of Mercury, its number, its place on the Tree
of Life, its genii, and the part of the body it governs:
“Virgo is the sign of the Celestial Virgin.”“Virgo is the womb of Mother Nature.”
The second is Eden: Virgo and Scorpio, once one sign, the exile of Venus, the three glasses of the white
island, the seven serpents of Eden in the Manual and the lessons, the ineffable virgin of the constellation, the
Celestial Virgin on the horizon at Christmas, and Virgo, Virgin:
“Eden is sex itself.”“One is green as the emerald.”
The third is the Prakriti: the Divine Mother as the primordial substance, the Great Cosmic Day and the Great
Cosmic Night, the three aspects of the Prakriti and the Three Marys, the Unmanifested Prakriti, and Isis, whom no
mortal has unveiled: “The Prakriti is the Divine Mother, the primordial substance of nature.”“She is the Great Mother.”
The fourth is the Second Birth: the Divine Mother always a virgin, the immaculate conceptions of the
religions, the sexual fire of the Third Logos that fecundates her womb, the Solar and the Lunar Races, the Sacred Cow
and the Five-Legged Cow, the Kabbalah as the science of the Cow, and the Jinn state:
“She, the Prakriti, is always a Virgin, before childbirth, during childbirth and after childbirth.”“The Twice-Born are children of the Sacred Cow.”
The fifth is the three Gunas: Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas in the words of the Gita, the Gunas in equilibrium in
the Great Pralaya, what each does to the one who does not eliminate it, and where the three temperaments go after
death: “Rajas is the root of all concupiscence.”“…whoever wants to achieve final liberation, should eliminate the Three Gunas of the Prakriti from his nature.”
The sixth is the mind: the sorrows of the natives in love, reason as the animal soul, the tranquil lake and
the stone, the senses subdued, and the hunches:
“The mind is the cave of desire.”“Subdue the senses and dominate the mind so that you may not react before external impacts.”
The seventh is the belly: what the sign rules, the forces from the earth charged with adrenal hormones in the
abdomen, the isles of Langerhans, the solar plexus, and the age of Astro-Theurgy:
“Virgo governs the Womb.”“The solar plexus is the antenna which receives distant thoughts”
The eighth is the natives, those born under the sign: reason out of its orbit, science and medicine, Goethe
and the mediocre: “The critical-analytical talent of Virgo is formidable”“…they should be simple, they should end all reasonings and have the mind of innocent children.”
The ninth part is the practice of the period of Virgo: the small jumps of the belly, the vowel of the sign and
the Gods of Virgo, the end of gluttony, one meal a day and the three foods, the Gunas eliminated, the Jinn state,
the Divine Mother asked for help, and the perfume:
“Eat what is necessary in order to live, neither too little, nor in excess, drink pure water, bless foods.”“…it is of her, precisely of her, that we should ask for help in the difficult moments of existence.”
This is the eleventh of twelve, one for each sign, each released as the sun enters it.

The Manual of Practical Magic on the natives of Virgo and Scorpio as Eden, the purpose of his book, and what we had as elementals and lost on leaving Eden. A later lesson of the Zodiacal Course goes back to what was said of Eden in the sign of Virgo, and to our seven bodies.
We already spoke of the seven serpents of Eden in the sign of Virgo. We have seven bodies and seven serpents of fire. Each of the seven bodies has its Kundalini, its serpent. Vthe constellation of Virgo, the Immaculate Virgin
In the Buddha's Necklace the sign of the Celestial Virgin stands on the horizon at Christmas, when the Child is born, and the constellation of Virgo shines at its zenith at the birth of the Child-Sun.
The sign of the Celestial Virgin rises on the horizon at Christmas, and it is then that the Child is born to save the world. The Christ-Sun, in His childhood, is surrounded by dangers, and the kingdom of darkness lasts longer than His [of light] in the beginning, but He lives despite all the dangers that threaten Him.

at Christmas
The sign of the Celestial Virgin rises on the horizon at Christmas, and it is then that the Child is born to save the world.
In other solar myths, the Divine Savior, the Intimus Christ of every holy individual, is always born from the womb of the Immaculate Virgin, the Divine Mother Kundalini. This reminds us of the Child-Sun, on December 24th or 25th , coming to life, advancing, walking towards the north at the same time as the constellation of Virgo, the Immaculate Virgin shines resplendent at its zenith. The Sun, the Cosmic Christ, whether in the cosmos or in man, is always born of the Virgin Cosmic Mother.

VIthe Igneous Serpent of our Magical Powers
In Tarot and Kabalah and again in Parsifal Unveiled he sets Virgo, the virgin, beside wine, life and moral strength.
Although the words Wine, Life, and Vine [Spanish: Vino, Vida, Vid] have different origins, it is unquestionable that they retain certain symbolic affinities. Thus Wine [Vino] relates to Vis “Fuerza and Virtus”, Moral Strength. So also with Virgo - “Virgin” - the Igneous Serpent of our Magical Powers.
Tarot and Kabbalah, 1978
Therefore, we cannot correlate vino (wine) with vis (strength), and with virtus (moral strength), as well as with Virgo (virgin, the Igneous Serpent of our Magical Powers) in any other way.

Part Five — the Three Gunas of the Prakriti
2 passages
IThe Great Prakriti is my womb
He copies the Bhagavad-Gita on the Prakriti as the womb of all beings and on the three Gunas, Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas, that bind the soul to the body. In the Great Night they stand in balance; when the balance breaks, a universe is born.
PART FIVE
Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas these three Gunas (aspects or qualities), born of the Prakriti
The Bhagavad-Gita says, “The Great Prakriti is my womb; in that I place the germ; thence, oh Bharata, is the birth of all beings! Whatever forms are produced, Oh Kountreya, in any womb whatsoever, the Prakriti is their womb and I am the seed-giving father. Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas these three Gunas (aspects or qualities), born of the Prakriti, Oh mighty-armed one, bind fast the embodied to the body. Of these, Sattwa which from its stainlessness, is luminous and good, binds by attachment to happiness and by attachment to knowledge, oh, impeccable one. Know thou, oh, Kountreya, that Rajas is of the nature of passion, the source of desire and attachment; this Guna binds fast the embodied being to action. But know thou, oh, Bharata, that Tamas is born of ignorance, deluding all embodied beings; it binds fast the embodied being, by heedlessness, laziness and sleep” (asleep Consciousness, the sleep of Consciousness).
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967also in Desire and Will, Identification, Laziness
During the Great Pralaya, these Three Gunas are in perfect equilibrium on the Great Scales of Justice; when imbalance of the Three Gunas is produced, the aurora of the Mahamvantara is initiated and the universe is born from within the bosom of the Prakriti. During the Great Pralaya, the Prakriti is unitotal, integral. In the Manifestation, in the Mahamvantara, the Prakriti differentiates into the Three Cosmic Aspects.

IIshould eliminate the Three Gunas of the Prakriti from his nature
To be born again the three Gunas must be eliminated. He says what becomes of the one who keeps Sattwa, Rajas or Tamas.
A practice
To be born again is equivalent to entering the Kingdom. It is very rare to find a twice-born. Rare is he who is born a second time. Whoever wants to be born again, whoever wants to achieve final liberation, should eliminate the Three Gunas of the Prakriti from his nature.

The famous Dr. Arnold Krumm-Heller, professor of medicine at the University of Berlin, stated in his Zodiacal Course that the constellation of Virgo has influence over the womb and especially over the barren islet of Langerhans.
Endocrinology & Criminology, 1957

IIall Virgo natives are not Goethe
Inertia and scepticism mark the sign, and yet its inertia can pass from the material to the spiritual, as in Goethe. They suffer in love because Venus is in exile in Virgo.
The most lamentable thing of Virgo people is the inertia and skepticism which characterizes them. However, it is interesting to know that that tense inertia tends to go from the material to the spiritual, up to where it is accessible through experience. The critical-analytical talent of Virgo is formidable and among the great geniuses of this sign is Goethe who succeeded in transcending the material, inertia, and entered high scientific spirituality.
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967

that tense inertia tends to go from the material to the spiritual, up to where it is accessible through experience.
Nonetheless, all Virgo natives are not Goethe. Ordinarily, the materialists, atheists and enemies of everything that smells of spirituality abound among the mediocre of this sign. The egotism of the mediocre people of Virgo is something too grotesque and repugnant, but the “Goethes” of Virgo are genial and highly altruistic and profoundly disinterested. The natives of Virgo suffer in love and undergo great deceptions, due to the fact that Venus, the star of love, in Virgo, is in exile.

The vowel U is sounded for an hour daily during Virgo for the solar plexus, and the Inner-Self is asked to bring the Gods of Virgo to heal the stomach. He adds that the sidereal temples are within the conscience.
A practice
The fundamental zodiacal exercises that we give here, come from the ancient temples of mysteries and, therefore, are not the exclusive patrimony of anyone. However, we must be grateful to the great Guru Arnold Krumm Heller (Huiracocha) who had collected and investigated them, to make them known to us in his marvelous Zodiacal Course. During the zodiacal sign of Virgo, thou should vocalize the vowel “U” daily to develop the telepathic center of the solar plexus, like this: UUUUUUUUU…. during one hour daily. Sit down on a comfortable chair, focus thy mind on thy Inner-Self and ask him to betake himself to the heart temples of the stars of Virgo, so that he may bring the Gods of Virgo to thy house, so that they may awaken thy virgin powers and heal thy stomach.

He will really enter the sidereal temples, do the necessary salutes, as I have taught thee in the first lessons and will bring the sidereal Gods to thy side, to prepare thy body. The planets move, evolve and progress within the conscience. The sidereal temples are within the conscience. Man is a zodiac and the zodiacal belt is within the conscience. The ten Sephiroths of the Kabbalah are the solar system. The seven inferior sephiroths are the seven planets and the crown of Kether, Chokmah and Binah, are the triune spiritual sun. Those ten sephiroths are within us and we should learn to manipulate them. We should learn how to transfer ourselves to the different stars to know the horoscope of people. Conversing with the sidereal Gods, we will know our horoscope without the need for the so touted arithmetic astrology.

How this was made. All fifty-two books were extracted (73,105 paragraphs, 2,157,671 words) and
swept for the sign. The sweep took the whole Virgo chapters of three books: the Zodiacal Course
(1951, ¶408–456, the sixth lesson, with its summary, ¶1014–1016; 52 paragraphs), the
Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology (1967, ¶344–439, 96) and the Manual of
Practical Magic (1954, ¶476–489, 14). It then took every other paragraph in any
book that names Virgo (17), and every paragraph that names the Celestial Virgin, or a virgin beside the zodiac,
a constellation or a sign (4), for the readers to keep only where he ties her to the sign; the lines of his
correspondence tables not already in, from Occult Medicine and Practical Magic (3); and, where his
sentence ran across the paragraph break, the paragraph beside it (8). Four paragraphs on the Virgin
of Light of the Pistis Sophia (all four in Pistis Sophia Unveiled) were set aside before the
readers: they speak of that Virgin, not of the sign. The Prakriti, the Divine Mother and the solar plexus were not
searched for on their own: they run all through his books, and the lessons on the sign carry what he says of them
under Virgo. That returned 194 candidate paragraphs in 15 books, 77 of them already
printed in another work of the shelf.
Every candidate was read twice, by independent readers working from a written brief. The two passes agreed on
whether to print 100.0% of the time and on the class 96.9%. A third reader, who saw neither verdict,
settled the six differences of class: the second and third of the three glasses in the
Zodiacal Course (¶430, printed with ¶429–431), the call to the disciples in the
Manual (¶484, printed as a practice), a line of the Gita in the Hermetic Astrology
(¶357, printed with ¶355–360), and in that book the line on Rajas and the one meal a day
(¶387 and ¶409, printed as practices) and the Rajasic and Tamasic foods (¶430). 171 were
judged printable; none was left out, and 30 were joined into the passage before them where his sentence, his
list or his quotation ran across several paragraphs, so 141 passages are printed here. The rest are
recorded with the reason each was set aside.
The practices were not gathered in a separate pass. The sixteen passages marked as practices are
the ones the readers marked as giving the reader something to do. Eleven are gathered as
the last part, with the nine passages that stand among them in his order. The other
five stay beside the teaching they belong to: the call to enter Eden again in the Manual’s
numbered run in the second part, the elimination of the Gunas and of Rajas in the fifth, the senses subdued beside
the tranquil lake in the sixth, and the Manual’s last line on the natives in the eighth.
What was set aside. Of the 23 paragraphs the readers set aside,
thirteen were headings, salutations, sign-offs, list numbers and the labels of his tables;
of the four paragraphs of the Celestial Virgin the sweep found, one is printed, where he
ties her to the constellation, and three spoke of her, or of a virgin, without the sign;
seven belonged to the sign before or the sign after, named Virgo only in a list of the signs, sent the
reader to another chapter, or spoke of something else beside it.
Nothing left out, eleven mends and two trims, recorded. This page prints
“Mahamvantara” for “Mahamuantara”; “Mahamvantaras” for “Mahamvantara.s”; “twice-born” for “twiceborn”; “Rajas” for “.Rajas”; “the Cow” for “the Caw”; “and” for “arid”; “darkness” for “dark ness”; “Langerhans which” for “Langerhan which”; “Sit down” for “Sit dawn”; “the triune spiritual sun” for “the trill spiritual sun”, as the scan has it: each right spelling stands elsewhere in the same chapter or the same sentence. The
heading of the next lesson that the scan runs onto the end of the sixth lesson’s summary, and the sign-off at
the end of the lesson, are trimmed. No heading was lifted. Otherwise the passages are printed as the extraction gives
them, its remaining slips included (“ladara” among the genii, “Io-Sep.”
and “Kountreya”).
No sentence of his is cut in half. Each range was extended against the corpus until his
sentence closed, and 13 ranges run over more than one paragraph.
Nothing else was left out. Where he says the same thing in two books in different words, both are
printed: Malkuth as Mary or Virgo, Virgo and the Virgin beside wine and strength, the forces from the earth charged
in the belly in the lesson, its summary and the Hermetic Astrology, the isles of Langerhans in three books, the small
jumps of the belly in two, and the natives in three.
64 passages also stand in a finished work, and every one is marked where it
stands, most often in Whose Veil No Mortal Has Lifted (20), Scorpio (7), and The Words He Uses and Zodiacal Course (5 each). The repetition is wanted: this is the vocabulary of the whole teaching,
and a reader who meets the same line in a second book holds it better. What is not allowed is an overlap a
reader cannot see.
One passage carries an editor’s note: the Manual of Practical Magic (1954,
¶484), the call to the disciples in the second part; the note under it gives his later teaching. Every passage
was read for a line that credits the Kundalini to anything other than the work of the couple, and that is the only
one. His other lines on the serpents and the fire are printed as he wrote them, each read and ruled before placing:
in the Zodiacal Course the seven serpents wait in the garden of Virgo and Scorpio, which he calls sex
itself, and the three arcanes of Eden are the three sexual forces; in the Hermetic Astrology the fire is the
sexual fire of the Third Logos, which fecundates the Divine Mother. The vowel of the sign is given for the solar
plexus.
Checked twice over. Every section and part title is a line of his, proved against the passages under it.
And every passage was checked word for word against a fresh extraction of its book.
The eleventh work of The Zodiac, beside Scorpio, Sagittarius,
