Every word here is his. Nothing has been paraphrased or improved. Each passage was cut out of the book it belongs to by reference, and each carries that book and the paragraph it came from, so anything on this page can be found again in the source. Most of it comes from the three books where he gave a whole lesson on the sign, the Zodiacal Course, the Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology and the Manual of Practical Magic; the rest are the paragraphs where he names Libra in other books, and his chapter in Christ Will on the rune that the sign governs. Many of these passages also stand in other works of the shelf, chiefly Evolution, Involution, Revolution, The Law of Karma and Return and Reincarnation. They are gathered here on purpose: the same teaching comes back in several of them because hearing it again is how it settles.

The first part is the equilibrating sign: the dates of the sign and its table, its metal, stone, colour and element, its plants, the house of Saturn and Venus, its number and its genii, the constellation of the Hips where the functions of Karma reside, the sanctum of the constellation, and the part of the body it governs: “Today we have entered the equilibrating sign of Libra.” “…the functions of Karma reside in the brilliant constellation of the Hips (Libra).”

The second is the equilibrating forces: the seven planets that live within our consciousness, the forces of the organism balanced in the kidneys, the mixing of antagonistic forces, the intellect against equilibrium, and the scale that weighs everything: “All the forces of the Universe keep seeking equilibrium and we should learn the equilibrium of all things.” “…the scale is the garb of the ABSOLUTE.”

The third is the kidneys and the rune TORN: the rune sung daily to make the will strong, the two chakras of the kidneys and what the clairvoyant sees in them, and the music-will: “The rune TORN is SOLAR, and is governed by the Zodiacal Sign of LIBRA.” “There are two Chakras in our Kidneys that register our degree of Chastity, or degree of animal fornication.”

The fourth is the three qualities of nature: pleasure and pain, profit and loss looked at with indifference, harmony, emotion and inertia, and the great balance of nature: “We should learn how to look at the alternatives of pleasure and pain, of profit and loss, with indifference.” “…if we want to become free of nature, we must transcend the three qualities of nature called harmony, emotion and inertia.”

The fifth is Evolution and Involution: the two mechanical laws of nature, the one hundred and eight lives, and the fall backwards of Infernal Involution, from which only the Essence is saved: “Everything Evolves and Involutes, ascends and descends, comes and goes, fluxes and refluxes” “…every human being is assigned one hundred and eight lives to become self-realized.”

The sixth is the Law of the Scale: the good and bad deeds weighed after death, cause and effect, Return and Recurrence on the spiral line of life, and the book of destiny in the Temple of Anubis: “Every cause becomes an effect and every effect is transformed into a cause.” “Reincarnation is only for Masters, for Sacred Individuals, for the Twice-Born, for those who already possess the Being.”

The seventh is the path of the Revolution of Consciousness: out of the vicious circle of the mechanical laws, the few who reach the other shore, and the strait gate of the Gospels: “…this is the path of the razor’s edge.” “Among men, few are the ones who reach the other shore.”

The eighth is the natives, those born under the sign: unstable in love as the pans of the scale, frank and just, the superior, inferior and medium types, whom they do well to marry, and what they love: “Libra natives are what they are and nothing but what they are, frank and just.” “Libra natives like to do deeds of charity without expecting a reward or boasting or publishing the service done.”

The ninth part is the practice of the period of Libra: the balancing movement with the arms out as a cross, Ursa Major and the yellow stone, the true order of the days of the week, each event continued in meditation, the karmic debt paid with good deeds, and the perfume: “…with the intention that all of your energies become equilibrated in the kidneys.” “We can pay every karmic debt with good deeds, but we have to negotiate with Anubis.”

This is the twelfth of twelve, one for each sign, each released as the sun enters it. Libra closes the wheel.

Vthe Stone of that constellation is very cold

In The Mystery of the Golden Blossom he tells how Litelantes entered the sanctum of the constellation of Libra and sat on its cold stone, and why the sign will favour her coming task in the field of Law.

Projecting ourselves into the future, far beyond our present reincarnation Litelantes boldly entered the Sanctum of the brilliant constellation of Libra. At the threshold of that place of worship was an effigy like an Angel; one hand holding the Scale of Cosmic Justice and the other grasping a Sword. Litelantes took some steps into the holy precincts. finally settling on a venerable stone...! Will you continue with Libra? Yes! But notice that the Stone of that constellation is very cold! "It does not matter!" Thus the Initiated answered... As this Lady-Adept is at present preparing to complete a very special mission in a male body, it is obvious that the constellation of Libra will be very favourable , all the more so when her task lies in the field of Law...

Thou should not mix antagonistic forces because terrible destructive forces result from such mixture. Look carefully at those who surround thee and do not live in a house with people full of hatred, or superficiality, because the mixture of antagonistic forces creates destructive forces for thee and for those who live with thee. IEvolution and Involution constitute the mechanical axis of Nature

PART FIVE

EvolutionInvolution
Evolution and its twin sister Involution are two laws which are developed and processed in a coordinated and harmonious manner in everything created.

Upon creating the intransigent dogma of Evolution, the decrepit Western mind totally forgot the destructive processes of Nature. It is interesting that the degenerated mind cannot conceive the inverse, Involutive process on a large scale.

Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology, 1967 also in Evolution, Involution, Revolution

The Inner Self-Realization of man can never be the product of any mechanical law, but rather the result of a conscious work carried out upon and within oneself, on the basis of tremendous super-efforts, in-depth comprehension and intentional voluntary sufferings. IIevery human being is assigned one hundred and eight lives

Each human being is given one hundred and eight lives to become self-realized, and whoever does not falls through the demoniac wombs into the Infernal Worlds. The rosary of the Brahmins, the walks around the Cow and the Buddha's necklace all count one hundred and eight.

It is written that every human being is assigned one hundred and eight lives to become self-realized. Time is running out for many persons. Whoever does not attain self-realization within his allotted time ceases to be born, to enter the Infernal Worlds. In support of the Law of Involution or retrogression comes the Bhagavad Gita, saying, “They, the evil, cruel and ungrateful, I cast them perpetually into the Asuric (demoniac) wombs, in order for them to be born in these worlds” (infernal worlds).

IIIJesus, in the four Gospels, places emphasis on the difficulty of entering the Kingdom

Jesus never said that the Law of Evolution would bring everyone to perfection. He quotes the Gospel of Luke on the strait gate, and the Law of Natural Selection in everything created.

The Divine Rabbi of Galilee never said that the Law of Evolution would take all human beings to perfection. Jesus, in the four Gospels, places emphasis on the difficulty of entering the Kingdom. “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, we have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.” The Law of Natural Selection exists in everything created; not all students who enroll in a faculty graduate as professionals.

There is a key to transfer oneself to that constellation. The key is to meditate profoundly on a “yellow stone” that exists in the astral. Do this exercise in the moments of transition between vigil and sleep and thou shall then transfer thyself in the astral body to the largest star of the ‘Ursa Major’, where a powerful and gigantic civilization exists. Since the seventeenth century, the earth entered a new era of spiritual awakening. That awakening will shine in all its splendor in the sign of Aquarius, the present era. The cause of that awakening is due to the influence of the great enlightened “Buddha” who in the seventeenth century became the redeemer of the Martian humanity, was crucified in the forces of Mars, to redeem the Martians and help our terrestrial humanity with “BuddhicMartian” forces that radiate from Mars. ✦ ✦ ✦

How this was made. All fifty-two books were extracted (73,105 paragraphs, 2,157,671 words) and swept for the sign. The sweep took the whole Libra chapters of three books: the Zodiacal Course (1951, ¶457–498, the seventh lesson, with its summary, ¶1017–1022; 48 paragraphs), the Esoteric Treatise of Hermetic Astrology (1967, ¶440–520, 81) and the Manual of Practical Magic (1954, ¶490–498, 9). It then took every other paragraph in any book that names Libra (15); the chapter of Christ Will (1959, ¶295–310) on the rune TORN, which he says the sign governs, as a family of its own (14, the other two already taken because they name Libra); the lines of his correspondence tables not already in, from Occult Medicine and Practical Magic (3); and, where his sentence ran across the paragraph break, the paragraph beside it (8). The sign of the Balance, and the balance or the scales of the zodiac, were searched for too: two paragraphs, both in the Hermetic Astrology’s chapter and both naming Libra, so that search added none of its own. The bare words scale and balance were not searched for on their own: they run all through his books. That returned 178 candidate paragraphs in 10 books, 76 of them already printed in another work of the shelf. Every candidate was read twice, by independent readers working from a written brief. The two passes agreed on whether to print 100.0% of the time and on the class 97.2%. Since they agreed on everything that prints, no third reader was needed: the editor settled the five differences of class, the line of the Sutta Nipata in the Zodiacal Course (¶493, printed as teaching), the next lines of the Gita in the Hermetic Astrology (¶450, printed as a passage of its own) and the strait gate of the Gospel there (¶485, printed with ¶484–489), and in Occult Medicine the label of the perfume table (¶1607, set aside) and the perfume itself (¶1619, printed as teaching). 158 were judged printable; none was left out, and 29 were joined into the passage before them where his sentence, his list or his quotation ran across several paragraphs, so 129 passages are printed here. The rest are recorded with the reason each was set aside.

The practices were not gathered in a separate pass. The fourteen passages marked as practices are the ones the readers marked as giving the reader something to do. Eight are gathered as the last part, with the four passages that stand among them in his order. The other six stay beside the teaching they belong to: the force of equilibrium in the second part, the rune TORN in the third, where his chapter on the rune stands whole, indifference before pleasure and pain and before success and failure in the fourth, and the plate of the good deeds in the sixth.

What was set aside. Of the 20 paragraphs the readers set aside, fourteen were headings, salutations, sign-offs, numbering lines and the labels of his tables; six belonged to the sign before or the sign after, named Libra only in a list of the signs, or, in one case, told a story without speaking of the sign itself. That one, The Mystery of the Golden Blossom ¶1542, is printed after all, with ¶1543, which was no candidate, as his own lead-in to ¶1544: without them that paragraph does not say what sanctum or what stone it speaks of. Nothing is reworded there.

Nothing left out, four mends and no trims, recorded. This page prints “self-realization” for “selfrealization”; “Self-Realization” for “SelfRealization”; “water and place” for “water and. place”; “understand Libra people” for “understand. Libra people”, as the scan has it: two joins of the scan and two stray stops, each right form standing elsewhere in the same chapter or the same sentence. No heading was lifted. Otherwise the passages are printed as the extraction gives them, its remaining slips included (“foresight a thrift”, “Kountreya”, “BuddhicMartian”, “manhanvantara”, “Rayas” and “Music -Will”).

No sentence of his is cut in half. Each range was extended against the corpus until his sentence closed, and 12 ranges run over more than one paragraph.

Nothing else was left out. Where he says the same thing in two books in different words, both are printed: Libra governing the kidneys in the lesson, the Hermetic Astrology and Christ Will, the balancing movement in two books, Venus and Saturn in two, the dates in two, the natives who suffer in love in three, and the debts paid with good deeds in three steps of one chapter.

68 passages also stand in a finished work, and every one is marked where it stands, most often in Evolution, Involution, Revolution (28), The Law of Karma (12) and Return and Reincarnation (11). The repetition is wanted: this is the vocabulary of the whole teaching, and a reader who meets the same line in a second book holds it better. What is not allowed is an overlap a reader cannot see.

No passage carries an editor’s note. Every passage was read for a line that credits the Kundalini to anything other than the work of the couple, and none was found; ten passages were read and ruled before placing. His lines on the rune TORN are printed as he wrote them: he gives the rune to strengthen the will for the Sexual Magic, and calls the music-will the sacred arcanum of transmutation.

Checked twice over. Every section and part title is a line of his, proved against the passages under it. And every passage was checked word for word against a fresh extraction of its book.

The twelfth work of The Zodiac, beside Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo and the Zodiacal Course booklet on the shelf, which prints his practice for every sign. This one gathers everything he says on one sign, and with it the wheel is whole. It wears the pale night-blue of the zodiac and the themed works’ two hairlines, in green, the colour of his table for the sign.
